Oooh! I'll play!

Sooooo, I haven't got a picture of my HoF from back in his origin days, as that 360 died its final death many moons ago. But, I have managed to recreate him in all his bearded glory! So without further ado, please allow me to present Sir Revan (I was young and just coming off of a KoTR binge - don't judge me! ) Cousland of Fereldan:



Playing him as the pampered rich kid with stylish face fuzz and a heart of gold, was a lot of fun! Plus Leliana seemed to like him, so that was a win!

After a bit of thought, here is how I see him now:



Over a decade older and slightly travel worn, but looking every inch the veteran grey warden and still keeping the twinkle in his eye!

It took me several attempts and trying about every preset, but I've finally done it.

I am a little surprised that people change the Dalish Warden's valasllin to make sure it matches DAO's design.

Personally, I believe that sometimes it's better to give up a few things you might want. If the character had a Falon'din valasllin before, it makes no sense for him/her to be wearing Mythal's now.

Solona Amell, gorgeous blood mage that she was:

 

I wanted 10 years of the taint and blood magic to have taken it's toll more than this but sadly the CC wouldn't allow it (other than making her look like an old woman but I still wanted her to look in her early to mid 30s)

I have to say I loved doing this because I've wondered what my warden would look like around the time of inquisition. Now I know. Of course I had to give her warden battlemage armour.

It's a bit weird though, that Lelianna doesn't recognise her old friend whom she ninjamanced about three times.

Oh, this looks like fun. Instead of a direct recreation I decided to go more for what he might look like twelve years later, by the time of Inquisition.

 

Bann Yulian Tabris, who I like to think has acquired a sweet mohawk some time while he and Morrigan were raising their son in the Eluvian:

 

 

 

I tried to make my female Cousland warden, too, but the shaved head on female characters in Inquisition has this odd receding hairline so I'll leave Her Majesty to my imagination.

Another because this is so much fun. Mage Warden Ariadne Amell who turned out to be difficult to reproduce exactly without tripping right into the uncanny valley, so I went for a "spiritual successor" of what she might realistically look like. (I couldn't find an appropriate hairstyle, though-- or replicate the glowing eyes.)

As you can see from my signature, I have many to choose from. I guess these were kind of a rush job. I forgot about a detail here and there. I also forgot the scars, and forgot to remove the lip shine. The "accent" is what I imagined for them, not necessarily what DA:O would allow. And the available hair colors appear to be different for each race. What the hell??

Belorfin Tabris - Hero of the city elves, super nice guy, champion of the just, and a redeemer who sees the good in everyone. His "term" as bann of the Denerim alienage was cut short by his search for his beloved Morrigan. Is lighthearted, with a great sense of humor. Accent: American.

Prince Jeffrey Cousland - Based on myself. Seen in my forum avatar. Married Queen Anora, with no mistress. I like to imagine they love each other. Also a nice guy, but is not timid about taking charge when the situation calls for it. I used a long hair mod in DA:O, but I couldn't do that since I have console DAI. I use this as the "long hair" style every time in DAI. Agh, they removed "just the mustache", except for that curly one. They have the stubble stache from DA:O, but it's too damn thin. I liked the one from DA2, but it's gone. I'm not a beard guy. I had to make a choice. As a result, Jeffrey Hawke looks slightly different from Jeffrey Cousland. It's been 10 years, so I aged him a bit. Accent: American.

Darren Brosca - Hero of the casteless dwarves, chancellor to King Alistair, lover of Leliana. I forgot the brand. Whoops. Beards are so short in this game! I decided to make his beard a little more scruffy, while my dwarven noble's beard is more neat. Accent: Scottish. Uh... Hmph. American.

Victor Surana - Elven mage. Perhaps a little insane, but also intelligent. Specialized in lightning, but unfortunately, lightning magic was underpowered and unviable before DAI. What's not fun about a crazy mage zapping people? I might make an expy of him in DAI. I don't have a good screenshot from Origins, but his face shape was similar to my Origins Belorfin, with very, very long black hair and tan skin. Accent: English.

Lord Duran Aeducan - Sort of a "riches to rags" story, as you all know. He was an honorable man, but he never truly got over the fact that he would never be king of Orzammar. He took comfort in the brotherhood of Alistair and fellow dwarf Oghren. He was distrustful of magic, so he did not take up Morrigan on her offer. He sacrificed himself to slay the archdemon. The braided ponytail is gone, sadly. I'm stuck with this hairstyle... and I couldn't figure out which blond looks the best. I probably picked the worst shade. Accent: English

This is a really fun idea! Some of your Wardens really look like their Origins selves. Which I think is pretty hard to do, actually. Even Bioware themselves had some trouble with putting the old characters in Inquisition.

 

I tried recreating my Cousland and I'm still not completely happy about her, but it's the best I could do Though the hair and eyebrow colour's off, and I really miss the old hairstyle. I really wish Calpernia's hairstyle was available in the cc. *sigh*

 

I didn't make her look ten years older on purpose, but I still think her Inquisition version looks older anyway. She'd pass for a 30 y/o, I think.

I agree. The shades of blonde in DAI are a bit too yellow for my liking.

Nah...in DAO I went for Audrey Hepburn eyebrows and her big black baby deer eyes on my Warden.....And I just found out in DAI if you choose blond hair the eyebrows are automatically blond... the redone looks more like Solas. Hopefully in the new DA game the cc system can be more like The Sims... then I can REALLY get to work!

Thanks! It's about 5% fifteen years of learning facial proportion and portrait painting, and 95% texture and hair mods.
