Hi, 

I'm trying to finish up Blackwall's personal quests, but I'm stuck on Memories of the Grey (I've already done The Lone Warden (obvi) and Explanations*). I have all but two of the artifacts. One artifact I need the 'Deft Hands and Fine Tools' perk, but that'll be easy to acquire. The artifact that has me stuck is the last one located behind a door in Western Approach, in order to unlock said door I need some sort of mechanism. I've wasted time killing Venatori and looting them to find the mechanism but to no avail. I've even tried scouting around the area to find another way in, again, no avail. Is there an easier, less time consuming way to acquire it? 

 

Also, an additional question: does his Revelation quest become available after I've collected all 10 items?

1/2 The Western Approach - (Stuck at door which needs a mechanism)

1/2 The Fallow Mire - (Deft Hands and Fine Tools is all I need)

I never completed Memories of the Grey and still got it triggered. But I think, it triggers after Adamant.

The mechanism is not a lootable item, it is a lever you have to pull and it is on the other side of the gate (i.e. north side). The last item is in Echoback Fort. You need to take a long detour to get there - starting northeast of the Griffon Wing Keep, and through Coracavus dungeon.

Do you recall the operation name, exactly? I have already had one bridge built over the sulfur pit (I think it was called), but I can't find any other operation for the Western Approach that isn't already finished or at least in progress. I'll have to check the next time I play, I guess. I'm fairly certain I handled the Darkspawn.

Hmm. Alright, I'll proceed to do Adamant, then. See if that's the problem. I'm not entirely sure if MoG has anything to do with progressing his storyline anymore now that I think about it since the other Inner Circle quests (for other companions) continued even though I didn't finish collecting or destroying something/someone for them. Thank you!  I also did a little research to find out if my game was glitched, but it doesn't appear to be, everything else is happening like it should otherwise. I might need to get a higher approval rating with Blackwall to see if Revelations triggers if doing Adamant doesn't help. Again thanks.

There are two bridge building operations in the Western Approach. The one you need is called Find the Source of Darkspawn. It is #23 in this map. You'll need to follow the route marked by the arrows. Blackwall's item is at #32.

If you've captured Griffon Wing Keep then it should be available

His personal quest triggers after completing both the Winter Palace and Adamant Fortress questlines. The Memories of the Grey is just a collection quest to earn approval.
