I felt the need to really explain my great respect for this particular storyline in DA:O and Inquisition.

Loghain, the hero/villan, all around badass that made Origins so good (Simon Templeton is the man) makes an apperance in Inquisition based on your Keep choices.

My head-canon has always been Loghain taking the Joining and Alistair being a drunk. So, it was a great pleasure to meet the antihero Warden Loghain durning Here Lies the Abyss.

During the conversation at Crestwood I thought it was really great the way his story turned out. He is being hunted for being a "traitor" Warden. All I could think was "My how the tables have turned since I last saw you Loghain!"

Then, in the fade I made the choice to sacrifice Hawke and keep Loghain. Again, I felt this was so awesome because Loghain has been through so much over the years (from the Fereldan rebellion to the blight and now the breach) only to survive time and time again.

I like to imagine him as a haunted man by this point. He's seen more death and war than almost anyone else in Thedas.

Very happy to see the return of Loghain and I hope he stays around for the next installment!

I think in my very numerous playthroughs of DA:O, killing Loghain was the only choice that was the same in every single one.  I may make whatever the needed entries are in the Keep just to have him show up in Here Lies the Abyss just so that I can kill him off again.

I thought the Loghain variant was the best of the three. I would never have seen his story if it wasn't for the Keep.

I absolutely love that Loghain made an appearance and how he was presented. My 'canon' playthrough always saw Loghain live while Alistair become King with Anora, and I feel the writers at Bioware did him a tremendous amount of justice.

If Loghain lives long enough to see Inquisition, then his story becomes an amazing tale of redemption.

Loghain is a great character. He's one of those I enjoy hating because he's one of the best imo. That said Alistair and I play rock, paper, scissors to see who gets to execute him. It'll take some poking and prodding to get me to make one world state where he is alive.

I need to alter my next keep world state in order to run into him, I did Like Loghain, though the choices in my keep usually had to result in him dying. He is the type of antagonist i like. He's not someone who goes around mean mugging the camera and talking about how he wants to destroy/reshape the world, he's just a guy who really hates Orlais (an so do I)

I loved the moment when the Fear Demon was tormenting him with all his mistakes from the Fifth Blight and he replied with something along the lines of, ''yup, I know''.

I do have this feeling, though, that by, like, Dragon Age 6 Bioware would be developing exclusive content for me and like five other people by putting him in the game. They have given me the option to kill him off three times by now.

I was very impressed (and excited) for Loghain's development in Inquisition.

I enjoyed the attention that was paid to Ostagar via conversations with Threnn and Solas as early as Haven.

'But which one is real?!'
"It's the Fade. They're both real."

While I haven't gone through the game personally with Warden Alistair yet, I watched a playthrough and while I enjoyed having him in a more active capacity, I was struck by how somber and downtrodden he seemed. That, and my two major worldstates are King Alistair, and King Alistair + Queen Cousland. And it's nothing against Stroud, but Loghain brought the full force of his personality to bear, I felt. He also made a great companion for my 'Forceful' Hawke with his dry barbs and Hawke just being completely done with everything all the time.

Though I will admit it took me a while to come around to the idea of even bothering to spare him in Origins. I was at one time very 'Grr! Argh! Wardens!' about the whole thing, but eventually I sort of began to see his side of things in my own way. Still don't really have a clue why he thought it was a great idea to listen to a thing Rendon Howe had to say, but we all make mistakes, I suppose, and I do like him as a character quite a bit. I also have great respect for his stark self-assessments. 'Is that all you've got? It's nothing I haven't already said to myself.' and 'I betrayed the Wardens once already and look what it got me! I'd be mad to do it again.' And everyone was just like 'Oh yeah. You're that guy. Right...' Ten years a Warden and he still can't live it down--not that I'd expect anything less, mind.

I also almost always have a Hawke that would stay behind, so he's still kicking around (presumably). I think that would be sort of awful to have that mess at Ostagar, an US Warden, and then dump Hawke in the Fade so Loghain can go do more 'Grey Wardening.'

He was a great character in DAO, but sadly no way in hell will he take precident over a character i gave birth to in DAII, and honestly letting Alistair finally get some legendary status by staying in the fade felt like poetry to me. He suffered the indignity of being forgotten far too long.

Not a largely known fact for fans who don't deal with the EU, but believe it or not Loghain 'unofficially started' the Dragon Age with his victory at River Dane. As far as I'm concerned he'll be alive 'til it ends.

Without the Keep, I would never have seen anything of him to be honest.    I must have play Origins through a dozen times before I even realized you could let him live.

Inquisition justified letting Loghain live as the right choice.

I never expected to see Loghain in another DA game. Hell, I never even expected to *hear* about him again without him being referred to solely as a traitor/usurper. I wouldn't have traded his cameo in DAI for anything. I still can't get over it.

It was just excellent. It was on the DAI forum I learned the reason I could never get Anora and Alistair to marry was that I kept letting Alistair execute him.

Loghain must be one of my favorite characters in the Dragon Age universe. Much as I love Alistair, I often chose to take Loghain in Origins. Being able to speak to and understand him from a companion's perspective Loghain really came to life for me. The Stolen Throne sealed the deal. His cameo in Inquisition was a delight and I preferred it to the other possible Wardens just because he seems to have grown the most, might be the least tired and downtrodden. How far he'd come! Much as I loved my Hawke, I just couldn't leave Loghain.

I wouldn't mind seeing him again, either. Perhaps in DLC? Anything is possible.

Loghain still lives in my world state, through a combination of him being one of my favorite characters and my assumption that if anyone can claw their way out of the Fade, it's a former PC.

I was thrown off by how different Loghain looked in this game.  Totally different than DAO.

He's a Warden in my "everything went to hell" playthrough with my male noble dwarf. Still prefer Alistair a thousand times over though. It's fairly subjective to the player as to whether Loghain actually did what he did for good reasons or if he was just vying for power, and rationalizing his decisions. I generally believe the latter.

That being said, I'll take Loghain over Hawke (and all DA2 companions) any day.

i don't think i could ever let loghain live at the end of DAO, so the only way i'd see him in DAI is if i made a world state where he did.  i have entertained the idea, but it would've been an even easier decision as to who i leave in the fade than it was with stroud.....

I love how Loghain becomes the warden commander if you let Hawke sacrifice himself in the fade.

I was really glad to see my favorite BW character make an appearance in inquisition despite the fact that a lot of people probably killed him of.

His reactions towards the nightmare demon was also pretty great:

Loghain: Is that all you've got? It's nothing I've not said to myself.

Can't get enough of the guy.
