Maybe. Provided you have numerous choices and not just several dialogue options all leading to the same end.

Killing defenseless alienage elves... I won't bother to respond with anything more than SMH out of pity if nothing else.

You can:

a. attack

b. do nothing

c. try to help before a friend stops you, then pick a or b.

Yes, that's probably exactly what would happen.

The Juggernaut Golems guarding the gates of Minrathous better be impressive, if we ever see them. I hope they don't have faces either. I can't like most of the golems because they have stone faces and tiny helmets and heads, while Caridin and the Steel Golems don't have this problem and thus look awesome.

Every time I hear somebody mention the Juggernauts, I always imagine them like the Gates of Argonath and get excited! I hope they get an awesome reveal, should we ever see them.

Spoiler

Doesn't Minrathous also have a Proving? I remember the Tevinters mimicking a dwarven tradition.

Yes, they have a gladiatorial arena. I'm hoping that's it's the basis for an origin or background for a game set in Tevinter. Antivan elf slave who rose through glory in the coliseum to become a General of the Tevinter Legion.

Chevalier initiation ;)

You know, I'll be honest, I was thinking this same thing. It is disgusting and I can't stand the chevalier, but this would be a very interesting human opening, especially if I can refuse and this came with consequences, which I'd accept every time.

I'd kill my fellow Chevalier and make a run for it. Help with an elven uprising or something. Would probably only work though if something like this happened whether you agreed to do this or not. It's not that far out of the realm of possibility when you could shoot defenseless civilians in COD.

I like it. We don't get enough chances to be assholes anyway, so there's that option for you if you want it.

Tonight the largest alienage in southern Thedas runs red with the blood of elves: This final test of ability and dedication are all that stand between you and glory.

But things rarely go so smoothly.

Something akin to that.

And the elves use it to justify an uprising, and instead of mages or templars for ****** once, it's elves or Orlais.

Not if they get allies. The elven side would be about getting allies against them, convincing the dalish to get involved and maybe Ferelden, whoever has beef with Orlais, which is a lot of people. Then you can create a New Arlathan.

And yes I know there'd be problems with this that need to be addressed, but Inquisition pretty much shows the writers are willing to make things happen if they want them to. A new arlathan, or the mere attempt would have lots of problems, which I'm okay with.

Yeah but you'd be convincing them to do it for elves.

Which is the true issue.

No Nation disputes were elves are in society.

Enemy of my enemy, and all that. I think the fereldens would have more issue with Orlais than elves. Especially if Gaspard does expand. Who knows, that may happen since it seems Orlais does pretty well for itself with most of the endings, while Ferelden's doing meh.

Dalish don't care about city elves, but if Orlais is expanding, they could mess with them even more than they already do as well.

This wouldn't be very hard to set up.

Not even that; you be declaring war for fourth tier citizens; a war in which Fereldans case couldn't win.

But that's not the point really, the point would be how would this rebellion even achieve the level it would need to even warrant foreign support.

Why wouldn't these alienages just be put to torch across Orlais? Seriously That was Briala's largest and most justified fear of the aftermath of Celene's assassination.

Orlais has the numbers and muscle to literally burn every alienage in their empire to put down a peasantry revolt.

My point is why they simply wouldn't.

You act as if they would just sit there and take it. And I doubt the elves are the only non nobles in Orlais that'd be upset with how things are. I'm sure they can get allies.

Orlais isn't invincible, or Ferelden wouldn't have kicked their ass the last time with a bunch of peasant yokels. With their bare hands in some cases, lolol..

They wouldn't but it wouldn't matter much.

That's a legitimate point JB leveled that I still don't see a solution to.

Even the rawest infantry of Orlais is better equipped, has actual martial training and has numerical superiority to their elven counterparts.

And what happens when the professional soldiers take the field? Not just random conscripts, actual warriors.

Orlais isn't invincible but it's overcome much worse then a elf rebellion.

The last documented case of which lasted exactly how long it took for an army to reach it.

The death of the current king of Orzammar. I chose Harrowmont for king, so I'm not sure if Bhelen is destined to also die in the near future. But I'd like my Grey Warden to come back at the king's dying request. Maybe it'll have something to do with Kal Sharok.

Rebuilding of Kirkwall. Obviously!

Re-settlement of Kal Hirol. Okay, this should have been over by the time the Inquisition happens. But I'd like to see us return to Kal Hirol and see how Orzammar has re-settled it. We fought to liberate it from the darkspawn, after all.

Mages are disqualified though. Only tourney mages can fight in are in Tevinter... as gladiators. Sucks balls.

That's my answer. A gladiatorial match at the Amphiteatre of Minrathous.

Again they should rip off Gladiator and have a Slave face the Archon in front of a roaring crowd.

Banners flying; Crowds cheering, the Senate sneering from their high level booths being tended to by their slaves.

An honor guard escorting the Archon out.

A once in a millenia event.

Why would an Archon fight a slave in a gladiatorial match?
