It's possible. I haven't read the comics yet, but I suppose anyone in them could still be around, since they're kind of a "what if" story. The writers would have to be careful if they tried to mention the comic's story because they'd have to fit it to all the possible world states. It may not be worth the struggle.

I would vote no, personally. I am hoping they stay clear of these "book" characters. They don't develop them enough in-game for us to know who they heck they are a supposed to be. Like they have expected us to have read the books.
The whole Winter Palace area was really the poorest part of the game, because a lot of us had no clue who Celene, Briala, and Gaspard were even supposed to be. Cole also only feels like half a character because of this.
So no... I hope they do a better job of keeping the books and games separate in the future.

Yavana is completely dead...there is no coming back
The books flesh out some of the in game characters better. There is no way they could have told us what happened to king Maric in DAI for instance

Considering that if Alistair is a Warden he confirms the events of the comics occurred for him, I'd say that any version of Alistair being alive will result in a dead Yavana. No, I doubt she's coming back.
Warden Alistair confirms the events of the comic? When?
(I didn't have Warden Alistair in my DAI world state, so I haven't spoken to him. Maybe it's that simple and I just haven't seen it yet.)

If you have Warden Alistair, when in the Fade, he says that it reminds him of the time that he encountered his father in the Fade. The only time Alistair encounters Maric is in the comic when Alistair is forced into the fade by the Magrellan. This plus the fact that Varric mentions he met Arishok Sten if Alistair is alive regardless of whether he is king, warden, or drunk clearly shows the events of the comics happen anyway if he's alive.

I see. I did not know that. Cool. Thank you.

No, I doubt she's coming back.
Just like Flemeth didn't come back after Aedan Cousland put an arrow through her draconic skull. Oh, wait...
Anyways, Yavana for companion and male only love interest please.

I agree with Navasha - they don't detail these characters enough for those of us who don't want to have to read these extra materials, They are often of dubious canonicity, are sometimes disowned at a later date, and often the other writers won't have read them, so will end up contradicting things that have been said etc etc.
It was the same problem in Gears of War 3, where all kinds of new characters from the novels came in, and weren't explained or properly introduced at all.

I think she will end up a villain if she does return. But I prefer your vision to mine.

Ice cold and pragmatic? Intelligent and experienced? Antivan and related to Morrigan?

Yes her left hand is alive because she had a blighted pet lizard.

If both Yavana's mom and sister could survive then Yavana could, especially since she had that Dragon Queen with her when she was killed.
Will she be a companion? Maybe not, but she's certainly notorious (Antivan witch of the wilds; curser of Xenon, etc) enough to atleast make an appearance in the next game.

Normally I would say I agree, but this chick is smart, powerful, attractive, and just The right amount of crazy to make it interesting...Or here is a weird idea! lets stop resurrecting people and make new companions instead!

Why not just make a smart, powerful, attractive girl and have her be abit crazy too?Not carbon copy but someone with a fresh new origin and backstory that people don't need to read any books or comics to understand.

As long as they flesh her out so I have a better understanding of her, I'm down.

Not to break the spell of "Alistair stabbed she must be dead because dead don't come back from life"...but considering how Leliana came back from dead then I don't see reason why she shouldn't be alive too.Afterall she is one of Flemeth's daughters and as such she can't be that easy killed.
I know diddly squat about this Yavana chick except for the fact that she comes from a comic and is Flemeth's Sister.
As long as they flesh her out so I have a better understanding of her, I'm down.
I think daughter is more accurate term

I say why not? Alot of people who dont want book or comic characters say the character isnt fleshed out enough, isnt that fault on bioware not the character?
