Why would Bioware want to use animators time to animate naked bodies if they aren't part of romances or other contexts where they would make sense? Only thing it would get is couple chuckles from some players who would find it funny to have naked guy running around Thedas while talking to nobles and priests.

Its already been shown that nude non-anatomically accurate models are the base for models all characters, so there would be no additional effort for them to be nude.

...but animators? One wonders what exactly people expect to be animated in a nude mod...

Accurate jiggle animation and physics for the female characters. This is essential.

Psh, only female characters?  If we're going to discuss this then I demand equal representation.

I don't know why though.  Neither sex organ is particularly nice to look at, in my opinion.

the warrior girl in heels and skimpy armor genre! I remember a kid wanting to mod pillow fights in a bethesda game. I would rather go in the other direction and have modded robes. high heels and great swords are mutually exclusive

You remind me of how disappointed I was when I saw the formal wear for the empress' masquerade.  It wasn't even that I thought the outfit was hideous, but it was so far away from what I was imagining.  I wish that we had gotten a fancy dress or a nice whatever-you'd-call-the-male-equivalent instead.  I actually like a lot of the armor designs, at least for human Inquisitors, but more styles would be a more welcome addition than the ability to go adventuring starko.

It's weird that the Skyhold outfit you're forced to rule in and make judgments in is also your underwear/pajamas.

The Skyhold outfit is actually a battle dress uniform.

All I'm seeing is his long underwear showing from under his armor

More like the thing we wear under the armor so we don't get wounds from the pointy metal going into our skin but i would like it more loose fitting.

If that's the case, it's an impractical outfit. There should be wool padding or something plus chainmail to cover the non armored bits and definitely no large decorative metal clasps that would just catch on things and would be painful if driven into the skin.

Not only is it hideous, but it doesn't work in any scenario. It has too many metal pieces and is too tight to be pj's or armor padding, it's to plebian to work as a court outfit, it's too bland and random to work as an inquisition uniform. Who thought this abomination was a good idea?

This. I think its what they where going for but I agree with everything you said here. And more loose fitting too. The skin tight thing is not good imo.

Lol, i've never seen this. The game isn't really like that video. The inquisitor in that video doesn't have a shield equipped, just a 1 handed sword and Iron Bull should be in his usual spot during battle which is on his back on the ground because he has a two handed sword equipped.

Just to comment on the trailer.. wow that was lame. I realize it's a glorified XBox One ad, but this is nothing like the game, the pride demon walked like he was constipated, all the colors are really washed and gritty not vibrant like in the game and the choice for music was once again, not representative of the game.

This is not how the game looks, this is not how the game plays, this is not how the game sounds.

The "Images are not representative of actual gameplay" disclaimer reads like a sarcastic comment rather than a disclaimer.

Anyway: nudity! Did you know that underneath your clothes you are completely and utterly *nude*!?

Frankly I'd appreciate anything to spice this game up, give it variation, options, customization. Nudity optional.

Yes, but you can't remove enough armour to see you're nude :)

In playing recent Bioware games I am struck by how much effort they have put into preventing their customers from having any sort of control over their character.  If you remove your armor, it equips you with a magicly appearing set of mercenary armor.  When my dwarf wanders around Haven, all I can see of my character is a giant shield.  When I removed all my weapons, Bioware helpfully equipped a non-existant default shield.  I finally had to equip a two-handed weapon so I could see my character.  Why?  Let your customers decide if they want to see their character in underwear (or nude) or without a weapon.  No-one should care what someone else chooses to do in their own game.  If I'm stupid enough to wander around the Hinterlands in my skivvies with no weapons, and a bear suddenly spawns out of nowhere two steps in front of me, let me fight it with my fists.  Nobody is forced to remove their equipment.

I thought it was a bug that cause my character to have weapons on him when I had sold all his weapons. I never actually checked to see if they worked, since I considered him to have no weapons and replaced the ones I sold (as was my intention from the start)

Surely, there aren't some "default" invisible weapons that appear equipped on the character, yet don't appear in the inventory when other weapons aren't equipped?

Because that would be so stupid I have no words to describe it. Surely, that's just a bug.

Not a bug, and nothing new. It was the same in DA2.

It should be a bug, it looks like a bug and the good news is that I successfully blocked all memories of DA2 from my mind. At least that's a silver lining.

I'm not sure I miss those DAO smallclothes (DA2 elves had it worse, thoug, lol). Anyway, yeah - the Skyhold outfit IS a 'naked' model.

My guess is that it's some sort of a tricky workaround, and (probably) has somethign to do with a non-combat and no-damage zones. They simply remove all of your equipement. Something like this happens at Halamshiral, but they use the 'real' forced outfits there, and that's what you're wearing once you enter the combat zone (hence - reequiping the items).

I don't miss the smallclothes either, but yeah It is indeed sooo "nude" (as in colors) I wonder why they didn't added at least some color on it, or some detail to make it at least somewhat more interesting to the eye (then again you are forced to run around as a padded couch most of the game and dye your crafted items in colors and patterns that make me wish I was color blind)

Besides, anyone who's played Origins should agree that Bioware isn't great when it comes to stylish undergarments.

With the exception of key art! :D

Oddly enough my character doesn't seem to have the ability to get naked. Breezy idea, yes?

In fact, clothing choices seem rather limited. I can't even get him or her down to their underwear...

Granted, this isn't a Sims game.. but I was expecting something like we had in DA: O

Now, clearly to some, this may flirt with the edge of kinkyness, but I was surprised by this limitation. Now, the oxy in all of this is that I am about to go play the game where my character is encouraged to seriously maim and kill others... He just has to do it with his clothes on...  :( Bummer...

Any ideas or mods out there on this yet?

I agree, I want the ability to get naked, apply myself with the blood of my enemies and nugs and charge into the fray

Have you ever had that dream where you are in a room full of people and suddenly you realise that you are the only one with nothing on besides your worst hole-ridden briefs?

My guess is that the bioware developers have that dream too and do not want to impose such a humiliating experience on the protagonist.

Now if the inquisitor was able to proclaim undergarment day, with everyone objecting being put on trial, that would be another matter, But such a thing could easily be seen as a distraction from the progression of the main story. It would make a nice mod though.
