I know, right? And the worst thing about siding with mages for Cullen's quest is: that quest sucks. :<

Apart from that I regret softening Leliana when I put her on the throne... >_>

Booo it sucks?

NOOOOOOOO don't tell me I'm gonna do all this suffering for suckatude :(

Well... we're not the same person, so maybe you will like it? I'm sure, there are some people there, somewhere, who like it...

I don't have my hopes high. I already am meh about this playthrough and dealing with Fiona's whining without being able to gut her. The quest is gonna need to be better than the templar variant for me to okay with this.

Edit: And screw it I'm doing Champions. Why this game thought it was a good idea to have just me and Dorian and then have combat parts is beyond me. This BS on nightmare with a dual wield rogue is beyond annoying and stupid. This quest can go to hell.

You jumped the gun like hell. You get your other two companions back for fights that aren't just you fighting two opponents at once. Also, pause the game the instant you get shoved into the future, so that you can give Dorian all of his spells.

Now I regret letting IB sacrifice the Chargers. That was actually NOT my choice the first time I did that quest, but then when we got back to Skyhold, I thought IB looked so depressed that I decided to go back and do the quest again. And I genuinely thought IB looked happier not being Tal Vashoth.

Well, that was obviously a mistake :P

No I got up to the point where I got them back and was still annoyed. Didn't help that I built Solas strong on ice so he froze everything and Cass, Bull and I would shatter combo everything. Also I really shouldn't have to pause the game the instant we get shoved in the future. You'd think the game would have enough sense to give him temporary spells for that fight.

Honestly that whole mission is crap as far as I'm concerned. Bunch of ventaori in close spaces fire mine spamming. Screw thaaaaat.

I had less headache with freaking Envy (once I told Bull and Pc to stand out of the way and killed envy with Solas pew pewing and Cass tanking).

Recently started playing again after a long hiatus, now with all DLC. New playthrough with an Archer. I sided with the mages, did the quest and... well... Reloaded the moment I finished the quest simply because it was stupid as all hell. Somehow I forgot that from my last experience when I did it. The cameo is cool and all, but the whole premise of the story was something that broke my suspension of disbelief (which is often the case with the plot device that was used here).

Any plot that employs the dreaded Reset Button™ as a major plot point should be buried in the deepest, darkest corners of the earth.

If you're frustrated with Fiona now, before even finishing Whispers, then yeah, stay with Champions. She gets even more insufferable after you get to Skyhold, and you can't even make her take responsibility for Redcliffe. She won't acknowledge her role beyond more self-victimizing.

And nah, Before The Dawn is not better than Under Her Skin. It's just a sidequest for Cullen's unresolved issues with Samson, you don't learn anything about Corypheus or the overarching plot of the game as you do through UHS. You can always watch it on YT if you just wanna see Cullen's content through it.

I love how Cole appears and helps you when you side with templars. And don't like how writers simply throw him to you when you side with mages.

At least you can meet Dorian before the choice, so he knows you already.

I regret doing Bull's personal quest so often. I have sacrificed Chargers once, and that wasn't too hot. I mostly saved Chargers and left quest undone only once. I do not like Bull and his turning against me is poetic, fitting and understandable. To me he is only a mercenary because I never felt like he was "a friend" even though approval suggested otherwise and he has no reason not to turn against me. I appreciate the twist so much that I would love to see it more often in my completed playthroughs, but now it isn't possible. This is my main regret.

I regretted exiling the grey wardens. And the first time doing the Temple of Mythal Abelas was killed because I skipped the ritual things. Felt really bad about an innocent character being killed. I also regretted having my Inquisitor drink from the Well.

Flesh out that Spirit tree as much as you can, when/if you can. Dispel magic is the vapors for all those fire/ice mines. Especially with a KE. Clearly idk what I'm doing because this playthrough was the first time I'd given a Quizzy (or any party members)that option. that's a regret that has been rectified.

Not really a regret but I wish I could've killed Erimond...went into the Fade and killed him again because I'm not pro-Tranquility in the least. But that ole mark ass smug musty possibly lice-ridden beard looking jerk deserved no less. When Quizzy tells him that he is literally one.of the worst of their kind(if you're playing as a mage), I fully agree.

Not softening Leli in my very first playthrough because holy hell she popped a Molly and was sweating. That murder knife never gets put away and I didn't even finish that playthrough. deleted it instead lol

It's actually a good thing that they let you customize Dorian from the very beginning. Better than having a default build that's a swing and a miss (Varric, caltrops, hmmm).

Plot aside from the plot, I think In Hushed Whispers is much less tedious to play than Champions, and it helps that the mobs are a lot easier. The only mage-type enemies are fire-based Spellbinders, which should be a cakewalk for a DW rogue and Winter Solas.

I always feel bad when when I exile the Gray Wardens but I honestly cannot think of any good reason not to do so given the circumstances.

Softened Leliana is far and away the better, although highly reformative, Divine Victoria. Yes, Gaspard supported through war table missions is a better Orlesian choice for emperor; as he enters into peace talks with Ferelden and focuses his attention North towards Tevinter.

I feel like leaving either Alistair or Loghain behind in the Fade is a truly proper heroic sendoff for them, but feel that the honorable Stroud is the best chance for salvaging what remains of the exiled Grey Wardens. While it is a tough choice to leave Hawke behind instead, that is what I've come to do on subsequent playthroughs with this scenario.

After playing all these games and DLCs I only have two regrets:

1) Not conscripting Loghain. The one and only time I did a run through of Origins Alistair killed him, and only watching YT videos have I learned how awesome Loghain is. As it was in DAI I have the choice of Hawke v Stroud, and well, Stroud is a dead man every time. I feel if it was Hawke v Loghain I would have a much harder choice and my gaming experience would be richer for it.

Since the Keep is a thing though, guess who will be alive my next DAI run through ;)

2) Isn't even DA. Why didn't I save you, Captain Kirrahe? Why?!

To be fair that let's you pick look like it hurt on the next level up. So it's not a total loss.

Yeah, but on a brand-new game when you don't even have a decent crit rate to make use of it yet, it becomes a wash.

True.

Still not as much of a waste as flashpoint on a new mage. Why not just start me off with freaking energy barrage.

Wow so much whining, that mission was excellent. That quest was what convinced me not to give up on Inquisition.

The quest may be good, but the recliffe mess before it is what pushes me away from it. I mean, how does time magic even work outside of "breach is required, go with it"?
