Telling that girl in Crestwood that she should join the Grey Wardens, only to watch her be sacrificed in a pointless blood ritual at Adamant Fortress. Ouch.

Picking the Chantry garden, even though it was in character. Listening to the same Chant lines over and over again is way less useful than growing more herbs. Always the herb garden from now on! My current quizzie has turned into quite the blood lotus farmer. ![]()

Telling Leliana that "war demands sacrifice." I won't make that mistake again.
Ha ha, same here.
I just figured "Well, I've already failed to soften her anyway". But here's the thing... she still can get WORSE.
Leave it to mentally unstable Leliana to take " soldiers know the risk" as
"murder is always the best way".

Not realising that Sutherland had a ton of quests and sending him to work as a cleaner.
Not being allowed to allow the Civil War to continue because I honestly don't care at all about Orlais and would have preferred to have let those cliquey teenagers squabble at their ridiculous prom until Corypheus and his Dragon kicked down their front door.

- Making Lelianna divine, after making her more violent...
- Siding with the Qunari. I just wanted to hear from Tallis....
- Defiling the Dalish graves during my F. Lavellan playthrough...
- Killing off all the Grey Wardens in my War table missions. I didn't know that was a thing...
- Trying to collect all the shards...so pointless...
- Leaving Loghain in the fade. Stroud is where it's at
- Killing Abelas and the ancient elves.... i'm sorry boo
Apparently there is a lot of things I messed up on.

My only major regret is leaving Hawke in the Fade. Because afterward, Varric said he'll have to write to Merrill about her LI's death...and I went "Mer-Merrill? Oh crap, I forgot about my cute little elf!"...and my personal canon had them married and possibly even had a half-blood kid. And I could not face making the kid father-less.
Thanks the Maker for the DA Keep!

An action I regret the most? Making Alistair a warden and loving my Hawke. That was a bad day...a very bad day.

My major regret was not to reach the 'Make Up Ending' between Celene and Briala in my first four playthroughs.
Love is what counts. Always. I don't give a flying fart about politics, money or war. And Celene and Briala was caught in a political stupidity that seperated them.
So, I corrected my mistake.
And where does this put me? I cut off Gaspard's head to reach this goal. I do not approve of execution.
But if I am forced to place the two elements on each scale and chose I have no regrets cutting the head off a war-crazy usurper - and watch love flourish between two hearts.

Allowing Sera, Blackwall and Iron Bull to join my party. None of them interest me and I didn't bother using them once or talking to them once we reached Skyhold. I'll admit that Blackwall and Iron Bull are more tolerable and I could have them stick around in the background but Sera? No. She sums up everything I loathe about the 'human-with-long-ears' trope where elves are concerned.
I'd probably regret putting Briala, Gaspard and Celene on the throne together but since it allows Florianne to survive as well I can stomach it a lot more. Sparing her is something I intend to always do.

Making Alexius tranquil.
To this moment I have no idea why I did it. I suppose, I was expecting some kind of follow up, maybe?...
But yeah, a mage, making another mage tranquil? That was beyond wrong.

It isn't inherently wrong, nor does the fact that you're a mage make it so.
The problem is when the Circles use tranquility as a tool of control. That said, I personally don't see the need to do this to Alexius since his son's death has already broken his spirit.
But Erimond? Making him tranquil is a must, and the outrage that follows is completely irrational. He's a criminal of the worst kind and there is no reason why mages should see him as one of their own.

Even reuniting Celene with Briala strongly implies that her rule is solely dependent on her relations with Briala and the Inquisition.
Not true, actually. In both Celene and Gaspard's endings, courtiers will whisper that they're too dependent on the Inquisition. But there's a difference between courtiers saying Celene is too dependent and Celene ACTUALLY being too dependent.
Far from being too dependent, the main danger with Celene is that she might betray you and slowly cut off your alliance with Orlais -weakening the Inquisition. The main danger with Gaspard is that he'll want to invade Fereldan (again), leaving you to clean up another war. Fortunately, high approval/the right war table quests can keep Celene loyal/Gaspard peaceful.
Actually, the only ending where Celene is truly dependent is in the three-way-truce. And that's MY regret. If anything happens to me or the Inquisition, the three will plunge Orlais into another civil war. I couldn't pick the lesser of three evils, but if I had, it would've been so much better for Thedas' long term stability.

Getting a fake warden out of jail
When I sent him to the REAL wardens i hoped he'd leave my party forever. Instead my inquisitor said 'you'll stay till the threat is dealt with.' which made me headdesk since we clearly weren't on the same page.

This was my biggest one, no way I could have seen it coming on my first playthrough but still really hurt. I was a lot like Leliana, too much of a soft spot for the wardens. ![]()
Also agree with whoever said killing the dragon in Exalted Plains. Not only was she being a happy dragon splashing about in the water she was beautiful. Felt like such a shame to turn that pretty multicolored thing into ugly orange armor.
I guess I also regret my outcome at the Winter Palace (Celene rules, Briala exiled), although I'll be perfectly honest by the end I was hoping I could just have them all killed and call it a day. **** Orlais, seriously. Passing judgement on the Duchess' dismembered corpse in a shipping crate almost made up for it though.

And so you lost out on the best tank, the most deadly right-out-of-the-box DPS Rogue, and a decent DPS Warrior.
I'd cry, but... there is only so much one can do.

Not making Leliana the Divine.
She could bring the most open-minded version of future. On the other hand, Cassandra means well and she is not that bad in the role but she can hardly bring a long-term change. Her actions are strongly dependent on who is actually in charge and once her reign is over, it won't be difficult for templars to return to old manners. My hope is that she at least did something about the rite of tranquility.

Ah, yes. Sister Nightingale not becoming the Divine. They should make that a crime.
And give those of us who didn't want Vivienne as the Divine the chance to overthrow her bollocks.
Wouldn't that be fun? A defenestration, just like in Prague! Woah.

As a matter of fact, yes, I did. Bull's a good DPS if you can manage him.
So... at the end of the day, he does not necessarily need to down potions like President Zeman downs booze.

Well, unless it is hardened Sister Nightingale...
Surprisingly, I can imagine Vivienne as the Divine. She is like a pope who doesn't lift a finger for changing anything. Not great but also not worse. No doubt she is the worst option, Cassandra tries to incorporate improvements and questions status quo at least.
I am sure Ferelden has seen its fair share of defenestrations (without haycocks), no need to make its history bloodier
.

I can imagine he is usable for a person who is willing to spend time micro-managing the group. I barely use him; the banter system is broken, so there is no reason to bring him along.

Not realising that Sutherland had a ton of quests and sending him to work as a cleaner.
This. Rectifying now in my new playthrough.
Second was having Briala, Gaspard and Celene working together. Sure, Sera approved (and getting her to approve in my playthroughs seems to be a *pain*, so I was all happy about that), but then I saw the epilogue.
