Oh jesus christ. I can't with you guys today. Stay salty and bitter. DLC will drop when it does regardless. Try not to tear so hard in this thread that it gets the other threads wet though.

the only one crying is you. anything else idiotic to say?

I never got in to ME3MP so I don't have reference for the focus on content.  From my perspective Multiplayer looks like the something awesome Bioware has that they plan to build on.  If you even look at how they display MP Weekend Events its super basic and tact on.   But they are making an effort to point players there so they should be investing.

If I look at the history of DAMP so far they released a free DLC almost right away that spiced up MP.  While it was good it also introduced a lot of bugs.  This is something that if continued would make the game possibly unplayable. Right now the only errors I have are key drops but that's even low.  So overall painful but playable.  As a game company the more you promise dates the more pain you can cause on your team and for players with content.  I think Bioware learned a lesson in the first DLC and is currently trying to make the next patch as solid as they can make it and probably even rebuilding some of the systems in the game to allow them to expand on MP.

This stuff takes time and it also unfortunately makes it so they don't want to share much just yet.  All that said I've really enjoyed DAMP so far and I look forward to content when it comes.  I may also be wrong in all this but that's just my read on the situation.

Ugh I hate these whine topics more than the key bugs and round 5 Red Templar incompletes.

Look I know everyone is clamoring to compare DAMP to ME3MP and obviously ME3MP launched more stable and had more updates by now in a side-by-side lifespan comparison. BUT, to act like you can see into the future and know everything that BioWare has planned for DLC is just assumption.

Also SpaceVegan do you ever have positive conversations here? Does all that lack of interstellar meat make you a bitter and angry person or something? I mean why linger in a niche game community just to talk about how much you hate a game? Is that what a lack of meat does to people?

The only one whining here is you, if you hate threads like this then why bother commenting. People are voicing legitimate concerns if you don't like it then don't linger on these threads

The key glitch should be a huge priority right now. Bioware did say that they will be supporting DAI much longer than they did ME3 so have faith.

Something people are missing is the fundamental difference between me3 and this game equipment wise. It's easy to add a gun with different firing speeds or animations, and most of the me3 classes were derivative of other classes, or a combination of several, with a few notable exceptions. I loved the ME3 mp but it's apples to oranges. It is much more difficult to add custom content to this game, since as a general rule adding different flavors means adding new combos, skills, or game mechanics without totally breaking the game. Look at the legionnaire vs. Templar. Templar has way better damage potential, and throwing war cry and walking fortress at the class would break it. That's what the dev team has to figure out that creates a particular challenge.

There is a DLC called Destruction, but weirdly a lot of people dont even know it exists cause it wasnt advertised... and this DLC is plagued by the key bug, so people simply deleted it after being frustrated

I don't know now what Bioware means by support on DAMP. So far we have seen no support at all. This weekend we got new bugs (at least on PC), no medals and no Prestige for some players.

I would argue a better comparison would be comparing what Bioware did with ME3 during the same time frame (Nov, Dec, and Jan).

Yes, its been 2 months since release, but the time frame also includes a multi-week vacation.  Were about to see Patch 3, lets at least see whats included before yelling at bioware.

We saw a lot of things happening in Oct 2012 with Retaliation and in Feb 2013 with Reckoning, so there wasn't much work in between them. Still, N7 Day, Weekly Balance Changes (except for a 3 week break if I am not mistaken), some Promotional Limited Banners and the usual Weekend Challenges.
Possibly there were also some Devs playing the game with the general public back them (especially on N7 Day), but I personally didn't have the chance. I only played with Devs a year after.

Overall, more work than what we see from the DAMP team within the same time frame - even though ME3 was quite a polished game within this time frame, so it didn't really need much work. DAMP on the other hand...

DA:I is on 5 platforms, everything will take longer. ME3 was on 3.

Not to mention that ME3 uses good old nuke-proof dev&player-friendly UE, while DA is a surgical experiment about making a 3rd person party base RPG using FB3, with no experience whatsoever...

(and yeah, I do love UE, problem? 8P )

I am so annoyed with DA today that I made a guide to making budget pizzas instead of my legionnaire perilous guide. IThe crashing/key bugs are just way too ridiculous to have been known shippables.

Also, its odd how the ME3 team took one weeks holiday (before they launched) while the DA team seem to have taken 3 weeks or so almost immediately after launch.

True. It's pretty baffling that the DLC actually made it past QA in the condition it's in. I'm on PS4 and have had an insane amount of bugs/glitches this weekend as well.

Is it so much to ask for a ballpark release date on the next DLC? I think not

BioWare rarely announce DLC with more than 2-3 weeks notice, a tradition going back to DAO.

There is nothing called a Hotfix on the console platforms.

So each patch issued there would require certification from the platform providers (Microsoft or Sony).

Obviously you could argue that users on the PC Master race platform could easily be "testing" the fix, since origin can push out updates without further (Other than internal EA QA I guess) certification.

I am wondering why that doesn't seem to be an option, but I guess it is because EA wants to keep all their games across platforms on the same level at all times.

As far as I understand it, most fixes could be provided to PC players long before console players, and I'm really not sure that I'll ever understand why that isn't done.

I suppose there would be some console players saying, "Why did PC get a fix and we didn't?" Personally, I'd rather that a fix be put out as soon as possible.

I know that there is a pointless and expensive certification process that Microsoft imposes on developers, but I don't see why PC or Playstation players should be forced to wait because of bad MS business practice.

If anything, if the fixes were put out earlier, any potential problems with them would be identified earlier, and at least Xbox players could benefit from that.

But I don't really know how or why all of it is done, so I'm just shrugging and wondering, mostly.

Quite early on we had a thread going about patches and hot fixes and I brought up the way that Warframe works in that new stuff is rolled out quickly but invariably there are bugs which they patch sometimes in a few hours sometimes takes longer.  However as they now have PS4 and XBone versions those are rolled up and set off about once a month with a stable version.  Early on PS4 players were quite impatient about "why haven't we got blah" now they're happy that the version they works while we did the beta testing.

Anyway one of the Devs chimed in with "that's not how we do things" (and he's ex-DE).  So only testing via Bioware own QA dept and deployment for all platforms together.

I noticed Xbone had Warframe Platinum for sale.

Do they still refer to themselves as being in "Beta?" I stopped playing a long time ago, and when I went back, I couldn't understand how to use the new menu system. I tried to add mods to a warframe and couldn't make heads or tails of it, so I just kind of gave up on it.

The Beta tag just disappeared.

A lot of people struggled with the new menu system but not heard any complaints recently so most seem to have got used to it.  Frame abilities aren't mods any more but just rank up as you level the frame so no longer dilute drops.  You can now type a search string if you don't want to scroll through when looking for a particular mod to use.

I still enjoy it  :)

It's not just the one bug (key drop) that is a huge problem though it is pretty major.  It is the sheer volume of problems with the game.  Key Drop, Failure to connect, Hard Crashes, terrain level bug.  Just too much time spend frigging around rather than play.

I would like to find out more about the lost connection, you have failed to connect to the new host problems.  Is anyone on these forums very familiar with how these connections work and what could cause problems?

In ME3MP fairly often you would get the old 'waiting to join game' message.  You could wait and probably get auto booted or you could hit the X button and go back to the lobby.  Often when this occurred you could hear the game going on, battle and such.  It was my speculation that what was happening was that the matching dynamic assigned too many people to one game and thus you were in limbo, could wait for another player to leave or get booted back to the lobby.

Now with DAMP you do not get that you just get disconnected.  I am wondering if BioWare decided to just boot the player out and disconnect automatically?  If so they should have a different message  along the lines of 'game full, sending you back to lobby' instead of 'you have been discconected'.

Another comparison that has to be made between ME3 and DAMP is the lack of grills. There were way more grills in ME3 back in the day.
Maybe DAMP is a less appealing game. I don't know. Just saying.

And the lack of any Volus is disturbing.

Actually, if the Armour Crafting could extend to a schematic for a Volus Pressure suit and Breather,

that might be the answer for my Alchemist...
