I use Varric a lot more after I get him 100% Critical Hit Chance to go with Opportunity Knocks.

For anyone with JOH. There is a vendor in the Avvar Encampment who sells a crossbow arms for 1632. You can get to the encampment easily without having to fight any high level enemies. Costs 8 power to open the FrostBack Basin. It turns Bianca into a great weapon right around mid game. I normally prefer crafting- but short of getting the enhanced arms schematic from the Tomb of Fariel- this can be applied to Bianca regardless of level.
