I think I'm the only person on the BSN who actually likes the skill tree (But absolutely hates the combat).

See, I hate how the skills are set up in DAI. Different opinions based on the same mechanic. It happens. I ran out of ability slots around level 15...and at the end of the game I were at level 26. I was dodging active abilities for over 10 level gains which is really stupid and I hated this.

The combat itself was okay though. On "hard" or "nightmare" you really had to make some tactical choices about who attack who, where and which abilities to use to counter the number of enemies who were usually more than your party.

Also playing a rogue felt cool. I often identified the archers or mages first, snuck behind them and...they never saw it coming. :D

But you cannot tell me I am not entitled to my opinion after playing 7 hours :-)

For me it just felt empty and I gave up because it was too frustrating and could not keep on going :-)

But for you it was a different experience:-)

To each their own

Of course you are entitled to your opinion. But was it really the story? How far did you come after 7 hours?

What I meant was that you are not entitled to critisize my opinion and especially based on the argument with the "story". If you can life with that limitation...without wanting to plug my eyes out I mean. :P

You did a nightmare run on rogue? My nightmare run was on 2H warrior/reaver. But I had to bounce to vivenne way too often cos the fucktard couldn't ever barrier properly.

I won't go into it, I wanna save it all for my 1 hour run indepth analysis of this game  ... Coming soon to a youtube near you!

For me I was playing story mode :-)

Could not find a story, so I would say 7 hours no story, time to pack it in :-)

After 7 hours and conquering a wood pile, I got to the cross road and talk to the sister made camp and had to find food for the starving and blankets for the cold :-)

I am a warrior not a UN Peace Keeper :-)

And took me forever to find that Corporal because of the mini map :-)

So running around and killing elks or whatever they were and oops who do I bring the food back too, let's run around again to see if we can find the person who needs the food :-)

For me I was playing story mode :-)

Could not find a story, so I would say 7 hours no story, time to pack it in :-)

The game started too late. The meeting of the templars and the mages was single handedly the most important event of the era. All we got was a big explosion ok cool here you are. Another beef I have with it is there was no reason for it to even happen. No reason Justinia was the victim of Cory's plan. There is nothing about that that the orb couldn't do to anyone else. All that was required was a sacrifice. Why Justinia? Some people said it's to 'make a point' and that's literally the strongest arguement for it... yea. It would have been a much better experience if you had to stop Cory from using Justinia as a sacrifice at all, and in the end you could either succeed or fail (But complete the game either way) setting up Cory as either dead or still alive, presumably somewhere on the black throne.

Instead the entire thing was set up to reveal Fenharel (The EXACT same story as ME2, as ME2 existed as filler ONLY to set up the reapers "Here fight these bug things first..."). So none of it actually mattered? Morrigan's son didn't matter. Cory didn't matter. Inquisitor matters to a very small extent (Even your influence over the divine is limited).

idk I'm not convinced this game, story wise, was anything but filler for a Dreadwolf game, but we shall see I guess.

Oh yeah, spoilers, lol

Well let me find a good phrase of how much of the story you've seen at this point...

Borowing this from Top Gear, it's about cars: "From NOT to 60 in 100 hours". You were at "NOT".

*duck & cover* :P

But I did purchase the companion book for DAI :-)

Maybe I will try it again with the walk through book, might be easier :-)

But I will wait until many patches are done for the characters so that the character I spent an hour to make looks like it is supposed to look like in the game :-)

We are human.

We are different, thank goodness for that.

We like/dislike different things, thank goodness for that too.

While greatly disappointed in DA:I, I have not given up hope and am awaiting the outcome of the beta and proposed patch 5 before I take up the game again.

Myself, I liked the Hissing Wastes even though most apparently didn't.

DA:I not your cuppa' tea?

I understand and I'm OK with that.

Do you know what I hated the most about the game? The uninspired, lack of dynamics in cutscenes. In anything that isn't a main story cutscene the cameraman literally goes afk. No cinematics. No movement. Just an NPC waving his hand and mouth around while he spouts to you. I couldn't stand that.

In some main scenes the acting is so bad. Look at the grey warden battle, go redo it and watch when Hawke meets the uhhh whadyacallit, that bald woman and the dude. Look at how still her entire body is, like a doll, while she is 'shouting' at what's happening. She doesn't even sound upset, the entire order has committed blood magic and hundreds if not thousands are about to die and Hawke sounds like she (ofc in my playthrough Hawke is femme) just missed her train and got inconvenienced.

The lack of believability is unreal.

Yeah, the zero interaction in the cutscenes was a big one for me. Do you know what kind of games have NPC interaction that DAI does? Those cheap chinese MMOs. You go up talk to an NPC they give you some generic movement, the camera goes over the shoulder and sits there until the cut scene is over.

Game of da year!

You have greater faith than Cassandra. I fear the Maker will not reveal himself to you, though.

Ran out of likes, but you get one from me :-)

As I said I purchased the big book that goes with the game, it may help :-)

Yes the environment are real nice on ultra settings, but I wish there was a story :-)

Especially for those of us who play story mode and are not too much into the fighting:-)

And if there is fighting please do not let my companions act like stupid dancing fools :-)

At least ME2 the characters hair were moving :-)

In DAI it is like their bodies are covered in oil and used 2 cans of hair jel, nothing moves :-)

If this is a Frostbyte limitation, they should have used a different engine :-)

The worlds are beautiful. Among the best I've ever seen. My personal favourite was the Emerald Graves. Honestly, even the Hinterlands were visually amazing. Every single corner of that place had such a unique identity.

Yes pretty graphics is real nice :-)

Junk game play not so good :-)

Boring story also not so good :-)

Bad interface also not so good, and you do not need to play 200 hours to figure out that all I am saying is correct:-)

I think 95% of the people here agree with me :-)

A Ferari is a sexy car, put in a bad engine and reverse the brake and gas pedals and press the wiper button to start the car since you like car talk so much, does not make it a Ferari,it just makes a pretty car that does not work :-)

Does anyone know the approximate time of the next patch?

And not sure if it is true, but there is not going to be keyboard and mouse binding in the next patch

Wow, it's hopping hear at the club house and I can't keep up with you today!

My assistant is on vacation today and I'm trying to keep 7 machines running, two programmers cutting G-code, and design 3 dies.

Sorry I can't hang out and contribute more but I'll do what I can ...
