Ok I just put my second GTX980 in SLI, works great :-)
If I decide to break down again and wish to give this game another try
What do you guys suggest?
A rogue with a bow or a magic user ?
Just seeing, maybe a different type of character might be more fun :-)
Since there is already a magic user and there is already Varic and Cassandra a warrior
Just checking your suggestions

And there I swore not to buy this one out of spite and because CA made me wait 16 times for a fixed game in a timeframe of 15 months, with Rome 2.
But there are positive reports from users all over the web and my resistance is crumbling slowly, but steadily. Damn it!
But there is one thing I'd like to wait for: For many, the strategy part is the most important. But I think both strategy and battles are important and I like to have the blood dlc in the game. Why they decided to not include it right away is beyond me, but my suspicion is that it'll cost for ATILLA. Oh how I hate CA for their DLC policy.
But in the end they're the only ones who make immersive games over interesting historical eras. So it's either them or nothing...
Haha, yeah it seems A:TW's problem really comes from player experience in R2TW lol
Personally though I didn't have much problems with R2TW after a few patches + mods (STIM was essential to make the game playable for instance especially after launch), and I can endorse Empire Edition. Now I use the 4TPY + 4TPY balance mod as well as my own personal stat balances for R2. It's the moddability that saves that game for me.
Been modding TW for ages, RTW especially, was on the mod teams for Chivalry and Blue Lotus TCs though I only helped with the campaign map for both (resources, RP elements such as traits/ancillaries on the former, bug fixing on the latter) - so I can forgive alot when I can fix sh-t myself lol.
Vanilla A:TW though is good enough to stand on its own without me touching it. One thing I will agree with - Family tree should have been patched into R2 instead of only being on A:TW.

Rogue Archer and mage are about the 2 best classes I'd suggest artificer for rogue and Rift Mage/KE for Mage

Hey how is everyone today ? just got back from a bracing walk at the beach as the sun set, getting all the feels waiting for my case to turn up tomorrow morning( or that could be hypothermia lol) also I thought I'd post a link to a video introducing my non British friends in this thread to a quaint little yearly event we hold here every year and here's some clues
1)6 laps @37.3 miles per lap
2)2 wheels (and sometimes 1 wheel)
3)Average lap speed is 132mph+
4)Current fastest lap holder has won the once per year senior race 16 times and his full time job is a bricklayer
5)Top speeds reach 200-220Mph
And here's the link warning may give you the OMGDz Syndrome

I think I'm the only person on the BSN who actually likes the skill tree (But absolutely hates the combat).
I like it but too easy to use to break balance imho. and too 'mechanical' for me

Rift Mage is a specialty class you get later as a magic user. artificer is a specialty class for rogue.
Just follow my guidelines to maximize story early on. Speak to your companions in town. All of the story to the game is with them and the main quests. The side quests are irrelevant. They affect absolutely nothing. Only do tasks to gather enough power to move onto the next main quest. The game opens up once you reach a certain place and out of Haven. If it sounds like a fetch me a ring, gather food, blah. Simply ignore it.
- The Wrath of Heaven
- The Threat Remains
- Champions of the Just
- In Hushed Whispers
- In Your Heart Shall Burn
- From the Ashes
- Here Lies the Abyss
- Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts
- Doom Upon All the World

Do you know what I hated the most about the game? The uninspired, lack of dynamics in cutscenes. In anything that isn't a main story cutscene the cameraman literally goes afk. No cinematics. No movement. Just an NPC waving his hand and mouth around while he spouts to you. I couldn't stand that.
In some main scenes the acting is so bad. Look at the grey warden battle, go redo it and watch when Hawke meets the uhhh whadyacallit, that bald woman and the dude. Look at how still her entire body is, like a doll, while she is 'shouting' at what's happening. She doesn't even sound upset, the entire order has committed blood magic and hundreds if not thousands are about to die and Hawke sounds like she (ofc in my playthrough Hawke is femme) just missed her train and got inconvenienced.
The lack of believability is unreal.
Yeah, the zero interaction in the cutscenes was a big one for me. Do you know what kind of games have NPC interaction that DAI does? Those cheap chinese MMOs. You go up talk to an NPC they give you some generic movement, the camera goes over the shoulder and sits there until the cut scene is over.
Game of da year!
Dude-dudette-lady agree with you. And the ending. The most anticlimactic thing EVER. Hope the DLC coming is at least 50 hours long to develop a good story about what´s left behind in the main game.

Only In hushed Whispers and Here lies the Abyss has the epicness of the previous BW games. And maybe In your heart shall burn. The rest is okay, except for the final one.

Go try, at least is a good game. You won´t be like "omg what is this crap" If you don´t like it a lot you will like it a bit. Is really not that bad (beside all the mechanic problems and bugs)

Stop it, this confuses me lol.
Well, well...I guess after The Witcher 2 and especially after The Witcher 3, DAI will suffer big time in your perception. And when I will be through TW3, maybe in mine, too. ![]()
Still, it's only fair to value a game on its own. And during November and February it was a good game.
Will I ever play it again? I'm not sure currently. Also depends on what Bioware will deliver in terms of DLC I guess...

The boss types have chests that have the blue/purple items. I found that side quests dropped nothing useful, and dragons for the most part dropped junk. I wasted a lot of time crafting because I somewhat enjoy making things but you don't even really need to do that.

Yes, and only for that cutscene we need either a new game asap or a really big DLC to explain all and be satisfied.

I went full risk and pressed ESC.
I still saw the movie. Would've been cruel for Bioware to tie this to the credits.
Speaking about credits...you should try and watch the credits in the The Witcher 2, till the end. I double-dare you, try it!
It is freakingly long, longer than any movie I've ever seen at the cinema. It's like they show everyone who worked at the game...and when it's true they show everyone who worked at the localized version...in English. And then French. And then German. And then Japanese. And then... ![]()
I endured it because there was no obvious savegame being created between the ending and what was surely to follow the credits: A movie, showing things to come. And what a great movie that is. THIS is how you truly raise anticipation, omg. I didn't want to risk and miss that since I was not sure it shows after skipping the credits. -.- Now I know...I could've skipped it lol.

I paid 60 dollars and I'll maximize it much as possible. The first playthrough, I must have spent 40 hours doing random side quests and was being a completionist in Hinterlands. My eyes glazed over often but I also didn't speak to the companions much.. Of course, banter wasn't working right, so no story coming out of that. I think I finally did the first main quest at 43 hours or so. I've started a second playthrough, spoke to companions whenever I can, ignored the people who were cold, without their rings, and were starving.. Accomplished more and at first main quest in 2 hours. The game is actually better if you put horse blinders on.
