For me there was almost no hype tbh. I expected a good rpg and already counted on The Witcher 3, then due in January, to save the rpg genre. Actually DAI turned out better than I expected for me, but that isn't so hard when you don't expect anything, or is it? :D

Up until a few weeks prior to release I wasn't even sure whether I will get the game or not. Then I read a bit more about the game, watched preview videos and only then did I start to look forward to it. ^^

For me, DAI has been a very stable experience, too. Right at the start I had the problem with white-screen-crashes during cutscene-conversations, but I found a topic in the technical forum that suggested turning down the post-processing. I did it and it was fixed.

120 hours of gameplay later and not a single crash. Until...earlier yesterday. A non-recurring crash when I started a judge-sit-in in the throne room. I simply restarted the game, loaded the save and it worked. :D

PS: I don't OC. Every. My graphic card is factory-oced but that's it. ^^

It was as well for me, kind of. Had to Alt-tab the s... out of the Wartable though, which triggered the banter bug (non existent according to EAware, except they fixed it today) other than that stablestablelbly un-fun

Mouse recognition. nothing was 'clickable' otherwise

I see. Did you try borderless window? Well I guess it's too late now anyway.

The only issue I have and not sure if it is fixed.
I run dual monitors and while playing DAI the mouse would go on the second screen and would have to alt tab
But I think the patch notes say they fixed it.
If not I fixed it last week in the Nvidia control panel I disable the second monitor and problem solved :-)

Weird on Twitter Origin just posted that a patch is rolling out soon.

They are not saying the patch is out :-)

Angry Joe is getting a lot of heat for giving Inquistion an 8 for the PC. He says the game is a poor PC port, but it deserves an 8 because of all the great things that did work. He played using a joystick. He did give 5 to Awakenings. I mean come on... four-party limit and we've got five in the Fade? What am I to do? Stick Oghren in my backpack and tell him, "Shut up dude." The storytelling was still great, but the execution was horrible. Not being able to use official DLC stuff with their expansion? I knew DA2 was a step (but just a step, not an Inquisition leap/sprint/no walk) towards consoles. I thought if they stop right here, PC users can still mod their way into a great gaming experience over and over again. Then no toolset. Okay. That's when it hit home that PCs are going the way of dinosaurs with Bioware. Too bad. That's so short-sighted. Origins still gets replay and if they offered DLC on it I would buy it. Preorder, too. At least with the toolset I can fix it or know a fix is on the way.

Are you guys sure this is not just an update?

Origin claims the patch is coming out soon with lots of goodies.

And they just Tweeted it a few minutes ago :-)

I hope you are right . :)  It's comforting to have some positive folks on here because I just don't seem to have the patience I possessed  in my 30's.

The EA HQ pages calls it an updates.

They still have the topic Patch coming out soon

If the patch was out they woul be advertising it all over the place

I think this is a pre update to the incoming patch that will be released soon

Then again the Easter Bunny may exist :-)

MatrixGirl, you kick ass like your partially-shown tattoo. Yeah, I think you're right. It's an update, but Conal Pierse (a Bioware employee) said he has updated Patch 2 discussion to Patch 3 in light of the release. It's so sad how Bioware is communicating. My speech is so bad, but I am pretty sure I know how to be direct and forthright. Of course, you may have some idiotic PR person telling them to say this or that and definitely don't say this or that. Speaking of which, PR has also gone the way of the dinosaurs.

http://www.howtogeek...ohotkey-script/try that matey., unless you've already done so. then Smoke me a Kipper :)

Thanks, but the source code of GreenTea's mouselook mod does not run on its own, it hooks to DAI. I dont have nearly the same expertise as him to write from scratch, besides it's his work I'm minimodding :)

I'm more disappointed with patch 3, seriously, a mod has been out for over a month with no issues and all the functionalities of walk/jog/run hold/toggle and Bioware just adds a simple walk/run toggle after two months that doesnt work with command lines.

Will they stop embarrassing themselves?!

I don't know if any of you have kids because what I am posting uses a lot of profanity.

Anyway, after watching this, I believe Bioware went from all four directors to becoming Michael Bay. And it finishes appropriately, but instead of the other directors... it's us, the PC community.

At the end, it asks you, "Who won?" Well, it's obvious. Bioware/Michael Bay with GOTY.

A big F-U to all those critics.

And Origin still Tweeting as of 30 minutes ago upcoming patch with lots of goodies coming soon.

Still find it weird they are not committing to saying Patch 3 out now everyone Rush and come and get it :-)

Maybe they are a bit embarrassed by how little they have fixed in 2 months :-)

Or they're just going through the motions. I just feel like they're not at all interested in helping or they lack the know-how. If it's both, we're surely screwed as a PC community. If it's one or the other, money is coming into play and EA will ultimately decide. The trend is tablets, smartphones and consoles. The console market has been stable, but all it takes is just one or two console manufacters to leave the market and you'll see studios go up for sale. It's happened before and I have no doubt it will happen again. PCs are long term and very profitable and stable. The PC market is either steady or climbing. Console markets are huge (highs and then bankruptcy-close lows) money makers in comparison, though. To me, it all smacks of greed.

I will install it Friday and see how my perfectly working game is working, but the again I have just started the game. Now perfect does not equal the interface, but I hope that it does not screw what I have done already.
Do you know how to tell what version of the game you are playing?
And I am told that the walk key is the letter G :-)

the auto run key is g, or if you have the walk toggled on, it's the auto walk key.
as for where the version number is located, I have no idea.

Per a post in either the 'community" or "patch" threads (I forget which now) the version number is buried in a file somewhere.

Cyan was involved in that discussion so he will know.

They're not tweeting "out now!" because they've been having issues with the Keep not working for new games because of port load. They're not set up for everyone patching at once. They've not got the server load ability of, say, Blizzard.

When they've had a few more d/ls happen, they'll start to announce.

It's actually quite smart, given they know they don't have the capacity. Better to trickle the d/ls instead of having 200k+ players all try to get their patch at once then get upset because the system crashes.

No conspiracy. No extra patch. Easy. :)

Yes, it's in this file. You open it with notepad. Here is the link:

Change the drive to suit your rig,

  F:\Program Files\Dragon Age Inquisition\__Installer

open installerdata.xml

Folks, good news, looks like my attempts at minimodding is in vain as the new version of GreenTea's mouselook mod will be out in a few days. Already you can feel the difference with the swordplay when block is on the RMB.

By the way, once you have the new version there is no guarantee that the walk option will appear if you have a joystick installed along with a gaming pad. I had to shut down the XBOX controller in device manager (disconnecting from the USB port didn't alleviate the situation) and then restart Windows. Once that was done and Inquisition comes up, you'll see the option in key bindings, not in gameplay.

I hope this helps and makes sense.

By the way, I've gone all Antivan Crow and downloaded cheat engine. I am seeing stuff that isn't available in-game yet. Oh man... No, no, no, no... looking away.

Anyway, I'm waiting for that mod Jackal19851111 mentioned before I run through the game again. I made it through the first time as a standing-still mage with every warrior spamming two abilities (challenge, war cry) so I can at least get through the story.

Sigh.
