I'll believe it when it happens.

 

I mean, don't get me wrong. I'm an early backer. But slowly and steadily thins thing became a cashgrab. And they are astonishingly good in grabbing cash. I bet they wont stop so soon. Delivering a final product, even just the singleplayer part, could mean a stop.

 

As of yet we have seen nothing of a persistent universe or even a non-persistent one or even...something.

I hear you GODzilla, I've been struggling with whether or not to buy in early for a while now. I mean, and Avenger is what $75 USD and you get both games in the package.... ED cost be $70 AU when I bought it so two games and BETA access for a little more seems like a good deal...BUT...

My what I read SC is not even in Alpha stage right now :-)

Yes it sounds promising and Chris Roberts does have 300 people working on the game :-)

I do like the idea that there will also be a RPG part of the game that you will land on planets and meet different people, and of corse the space fighting :-)

But I am not sure if I would throw down money on something that is not even in alpha stage :-)

The critics are saying this could be an amazing product, but other do say that it could be a crash grab and a possible failure

So what happens to the money people put in this game?

I think I myself will wait for 2016 and see how Chris Roberts is doing by then :-)

You can play the alpha of the arena stuff now, as for the rest, well...

 

Thing is, I learned something valuable in ED-, in these games Early Access Pays Off. Who knows what the prices will be at release, but you can bet your starting ship won't be an Avenger. If I'd backed ED instead of waiting for release, I'd be sitting nice and snug in a free Eagle instead of getting my noob arse greased in a stock Sidewinder...

 

So from my current view from the muddy bottom of the ED galaxy, $75 for early access and a much better start when the game releases, looks smart. And if it all goes belly up- well I blew $90 on DA:I thinking it was going to be great due to lies-  at least this is an educated gamble!

Yes the game looks amazing and it wii be PC only no consoles :-)

I can hear the console players saying this game is junk because it will not come for any consoles :-)

And that brings a warm feeling to me heart:-)

But when the game comes out, you will be able to play the single player side of things, get lots of XP and money :-)

So if you decide to go online part of the game you will already have a great ship :-)

But on a side note, looking at the graphics and the game, looks like players will need a rig like mine to get all the superb graphics and FX :-)

And the SP game will likely cost me $75 anyway, MG.

 

My rig will run it no worries right now, especially since it is Arena Commander only at the moment) I have a I7 4790 3.6GH powering my GTX 760.

 

If I want to run it maxed down the track- well by the time it comes out 980's will be superseded and the price will come down so I'll pick one up then, which I'll have to do if I want an Oculus Rift (also supposed to work with SC btw) anyway.

 

So it's all good, and now that I have a HOTAS the flight sim aspect of Arena looks kind of fun...

I think it will take a long time before the 980 will be superceeded:-)

Not for a few years at least and having 2 of them gives me the safety :-)

But my Intel Haswel 5960X 8 dual cores, I think I am safe with my rig :-)

But when it does come out, I will shop for a joystick:-)

I think it is the only thing I do not have :-)

I think the entire full game will probably cost in 75 dollars, but by then it is a finished product :-)

Also because it is not a finished product they cannot say how optimized the game will be and what the hardware requirements will be :-)

But I am sure I will run that thing fully maxed out , I never worry about things like that with my rig :-)

You have 16 cpu threads.. Games are currently using around 4.. I think you have breathing room.

Yes I think I am covered on all aspects for this game for max settings :-)

Except for the joystick, and if I have to pay for a great one I will :-)

By supersede I mean the next card will come out and the price will drop, which happens every 18 months or so, that's all.

Well I am going by their web page saying end 2015 that is 10 months from now for release or early 2016.

The Thrust Master Warthog With dual throttle, kooks like a nice rig, supposed to simulate the A10 :-)

Will have to read the reviews on it :-)

Unless one of you have an opinion on that HOTAS :-)

But there are rumours that the may come out with a 970TI that will fix the screw up they did with the 970 and they may price that card in the same price range as the 970 is right now :-)

So it will be a great card also :-)

I know, right? They've recently added it to the Arena Commander module so the decision to pull the trigger on pledging became moot. Prior to this one the ships weren't to my taste, but this baby I'll keep in game, no worries.

 

I tell you, slogging away trying to earn in game credits to upgrade my sidewinder in ED has put things into a whole new perspective lol!

I see Nvidia releasing a more mainstream 980 to fill the gap left by the 970 fiasco.  Call it the 975 TI or maybe 980L . And then introduce 990FX or something like that with 8 gigs of video ram.
