Well, true to Aussie internet form the game was still downloading when I went to bed lol! But I got up this morning and this was in my hangar! Squee!

 

 

 

 

Now all I have to do is map the bindings to the HOTAS (hooray- not) which sadly will have to wait thanks to real life stuff (boo), but I'll be in the cockpit crashing out on course in no time lol!

 

See that orange thing- that's my seat! All the crashing will start right there.

Haha! Isn't it just, Peregrinus. All the other ships are certainly porn to me- forgot about how crappy the Aussie dollar is when I bought in...$80 became $100 just like that! No more ships for me!

 

Game auto installed to highest graphics setting and is just fine on my PC too.

 

Going to set the HOTAS up to match my ED settings- each game can be practice for the other that way you see (okay, so I'll need them both the same so I don't mix them up lol!).

@LunaFancy  sweet! Glad you can run it in highest and it's not even Alpha yet.  

 

I'm actually very pleased with my desktop build right now. It was purely a theoretical numbers game in my head on what it could do, but desktop with APU is actually an option.  

 

If I replace the stock fan on the CPU, this thing would be very silent. I can actually run this system on one system fan and cpu fan and it runs cold even at max load.

I just started playing F.E.A.R 3 again and it's great fun. What an underrated game. It really deserved more praise then it got.

glad you're alright matrix... kind of reminds me of when my dad nearly gave me a crash course in driver's ed.

as for space combat games, I nearly forgot Starfleet command (even Vol. III was fun with the right mods), that's always a fun classic.

By what I saw it looks amazing :-)

But I think I will try with a 12 button joystick first until I see more of what this game can offer before throwing lots of money into a HOTAS:-)

Possibly but very likely when it's actually released out of beta.  I'm going through a life transition right now so once I deal with that, I'll probably game a lot more.

I think it's one of those games in where the better pilot is more important the actual ship you are in so you should be fine once you get a handle on the controls.  

 

Not a whole lot going on with DAI, to be honest.  I think most people will be happier with the fixed issues, well as some of the new things added by beta but it still doesn't do anything with the filler stuff. It's the filler stuff that is unfortunately the big problem.  I also believe that is something that we've discussed to death in here.  Technically, DAI is looking to be in a much better position.  It's been smooth so far and I've put some time into it, even the boring stuff.

haven't gone that far yet, I need to know how much I'll have left to work with, before I start putting things together. I am also I tad outdated with my hardware knowledge, so I need to brush up on that a bit as well.

but I guess I do know I'm going for a pc (as a gamer it's just a bit easier, compared mac), I'm also going to try to stay away from amd (as I'm kind of pissed at them right now). as for a gpu I'm aiming for a GeForce from asus. that's about all I know atm.
