And a Creative Lab civi extreme PCIe sound card :-)

I would never use mother boards sound cards :-)

They eat resources and have average sound, ig you want great gaming sound go for a dedicated sound card :-)

Well, that's where I completely agree but that's also where getting a quality motherboard matters.  Asus/MSI/Gigabyte are good about putting good audio solutions on the higher end boards. Even the budget boards are decent these days. AMD APUs actually have a hardware audio solution built into them so low end is definitely improving.

I am not a big fan right now of any onboard sound cards, even on the high end ASUS :-)

Tried an ASUS sound card before did not like the quality :-)

*nod*  yeah, I can understand that. My biggest nitpick with using a discrete audio solution is that motherboard manufacturers have this bad habit of putting the pcie 1x slot right next to the pcie-16x slot. I think engineers need common sense enablers next to them when they design these things.  :)

And APU eat resources usually even with my board, hence why I prefer a great sound card and great speakers:-)
I use Logitech Z906 speaker system, love the amazing sound :-)

If mother board space is an issue use an external sound card, great gaming requires also superb sound :-)

Makes it more immersive:-)

It's a beautiful game, isn't it KilrB? The motion sickness isn't something I've had with it, but I can see how it would happen.

How are you finding it? I ended up restarting and using a walk-through after I discovered that I'd been missing clues in record numbers. Seems sleuthing is not something that comes naturally to me lol! It's definitely fun in an interactive murder mystery novel kind of way though. Not my usual kind of game (obviously since I need a walk-through lol!) and I don't think I'll be doing too many more like it, but by god those graphics are worth it!

My IRL issue has been resolved so I have a date with a HOTAS -there's  some rebinding to be done so I can crash my Avenger!

I had just "solved" the first puzzle when I had to take a break.

I'll have to make the suggested adjustments and see how it goes ...

Not asleep, just spread thin.

Trying to keep up here and in the "PC Concerns" thread, game a little, read, and enjoy some home-grown "cat theatre".

1st :OK That Dark Amaranath just sounds like a Bioware employee on an alt account.

2nd point : If you signed an NDA about the next patch, then STFU.  One there shouldn't be a "beta" for a game thats been released, stop calling it that and 2 there shouldn't be a NDA for a patch. But if you signed  that NDA, Then STFU and say nothing.

1. I don't think so, he actually spends a lot of time in the forums and is usually pretty level headed.

2. Agreed.

Well, just tried to rebind the HOTAS for SC and OMG! LOL! Apparently I'll have to learn to do something called xml if I want to map my ED bindings... Okay...great.

Never let it be said I shy away from a challenge, though this one might well break me ...yeah.

This is what I get for trying to get in early at pre-alpha lol!

It's actually not as scary as it looks. :)  I'm sure you'll be able to get a prebuilt one someone makes and edit it for your use.    I'm off to watch my show now.  :>

I'm currently using an HD flat screen TV as my monitor, patched through the HDMI port on my GPU. I am also using it to patch sound through my TV... As my cats destroyed my speakers.

I use my TV too Invisible Man, I like playing games on the couch, once a console peasant and all that lol! I've discovered that a lap table makes a HOTAS possible for a couch potato.

Nothing wrong with that. :)  I use a smaller 24' Toshiba HDTV for a monitor, and it works great.

Right, so using this guide I am going to try to use this program someone wrote to generate .xml to remap things in SC... LOL! What the hell am I doing? Did anyone else do this? I need to know others have gone before me and survived...

Or I could just use the controller for now...

In the mean time, the Legend voice pack has arrived for Elite Dangerous and he is amazing!

The sites not coming up for me Peregrinus - 404. :) Thanks though, the kb/m are already in it anyway, it's just that I'd just rather not use them for flying at all. I know, I know...pariah, right lol! Console peasant origins remember- plus 3x right shoulder reconstruction which gives me hell using a mouse on the arm of the chair.

Thank you for the link all the same! :)

I'll work it out eventually, I think I'll use the controller to get in the cockpit sooner rather than later though.

ok, you can't have the http:// in front..

just type it into your browser without the http:// in the front and it'll goto the website.

sorry about that. Chrome has a bad habit of putting http:// in front of website addys.
