I have the big DAI companion book now, so I will do the filler quests also as a make KE or a Rogue
Can a human play a rogue ?
with the bow that is
Yep, you can.

@Ashen Nedra I think Cyan is rather pleased since he's actually been able to play the game without crashing in the beta. If you remember, he couldn't even get past the beginning of the game. ![]()
I've been pretty positive about the beta too since it increased my performance by a lot.
For me personally, I think I just enjoy testing things. I've already done one playthrough and I'm thinking I'll do one more while skipping all of the filler and see how I feel.
Ok, I can see where you're coming from.
Being a beta tester for DAI: check. Something like that?
I must say I don't even know how beta testing works: do you have to fill out 'forms', do specific tasks in game, or is it less organized? Like playing however you want and sending an email or message to BW?
It is time for rumors I read today ![]()
Nvidia will be coming out with the fix for the 970 with a driver who will block the last .5 gig of memory
And they will be releasing a GTX 990 dual GPU with 8 gigs of RAM
The 980 will drop by maybe 50 dollars
And the Titan might be discontinued, since no one is buying the card ![]()

With this particular testing, it's not so formal. There is what you could call a checklist. Things that they want you to test out but of course you report bugs you run into also. Unfortunately, this first round of testing was more unorganized then I would like. I actually used one post and edited as I found things so they have a concise list to look at but many others simply spammed their findings as they found them all over. Not very organized and hard to look at the data that way.

I didn't know that. From his comments he seemed to know quite a lot about the game. Let him discover the grind and boredom.
I think he should stick to write his Darth Darrah saga personally. A lot more fun than even a working DAI
, imho.
I must be really one of the lucky ones regarding tech issues. Nothing major except having to alt-tab out of the War Table, and the Banter Bug (which I 'fixed'). What a chore this game was.
Ashen
yep got to put lots of hours and test their new fixes and tell them if it works or not ![]()
But they have to work with AMD and NVidia on a driver that works also ![]()

Unorganized, eh? That's the Bioware we have all come to know and love during these paste 5 months...
@Ashen Yes, that story is great.

Are you also part of the beta testing, then? I feel surrounded.
Ashen
everything was working well for me, I just got bored with the useless side quest and the bad interface ![]()
The game is pretty , but as I always said a chrome turd is still a turd ![]()
Ashen
Hell no ![]()
I would like to see the game fixed, but if they could fix the boring story, it would be better ![]()
If not too bad so sad , there are better games on the horizon ![]()

If somehow they could cut out the 60% filler, the story is actually fine. With that cut out, the game would be around 35 hours or so but full of story and banter.. I would be perfectly fine with that.
Peregrinus
And get rid of that silly sonar thing :-)
it is a RPG after all not The Hunt For red October
Peregrinus
maybe add some companion side quests and keep it at at so you can make the game maybe 50 hours ![]()

Yeah, and that it makes no sense that you have that ability. I'm pretty sure they stole the idea from Witcher 2. Geralt's medallion can detect magical things and it emits a magical light that allows you to see the location.. In that context , it works fine but in DAI , it doesn't.

I was actually including the companion side quests in the 35 hour mark. All the companions have side quests in DAI.
Peregrinus
Well DAI is stealing from Skyrim, ME2 and ME3 and The Witcher , they should have left good enough alone like DAO and make it prettier and make it interesting and fun :-)
And went for an engine they knew how to work on ![]()

I'll be honest with you, MG.. I just don't see what they took from Skyrim . They definitely didn't bring the satisfaction of simply exploring for the sake of exploring or running into something interesting. They really could have dropped two or three entire zones and the game would be better for it because they are pretty much empty landscapes. And I'm not kidding either, I walked through the entire empty landscape filled with nothing except enemy spawns and rifts sprinkled here and there.
Peregrinus
well they wanted the sand box game like Skyrim and failed at it :-)
And Skyrim has a better mini map , and at least you know where to go next instead of 20 arrows showing where to build a camp and where to pick up flowers and all that useless stuff :-)
I didn't know that. From his comments he seemed to know quite a lot about the game. Let him discover the grind and boredom.
<snip>
ROFL.
Grind and boredom is dead right. I've stalled out yet again and not even nudiquistor can save me at this point I don't think. And I've skipped all the rings and bottles crap too. The CE banter fix saved it for a while...but the thought of doing that godforsaken Ball again is killing all my good intentions.
Maybe when the Emporium is released I'll fix my lacquered gingerbread man inquisitor's complexion to resemble an actual human being and finish- he's been to the ball at least.
Though I do like the Still Ruins so might get back to do that again some time after the patch...
Or maybe a modder will fix the elves and I'll be so thrilled that I won't even notice how boring it all is until the end?

Well, I think there was mention that DAI was originally going to be multiplayer only mmo and that's very believable.

You have to skip all the other useless fetch quests too, well as gathering agents, etc. I only had 3 agents on my first playthrough and it made absolutely no difference.
You also don't need to waste time gathering things for crafting either. The stuff you find in chests and by killing boss type creatures is perfectly serviceable.
The only things you should do in the game is close rifts, engage in conversation with companions for their side quests and romance, etc, engage in main quests. 100% of the story is tied into main quests and companion quests. Everything else you find as a codex. All the other side quests are irrelevant.
Peregrinus
Than they should have played WOW for a few hours :-)
They might have learned something :-)

as I said lipstick on a pig or chrome a turd, it is still a POS game
