I did a real stupid thing last week :-(

I purchased a game from some guy here in my home town paid 30 dollars for it and it is a steam game and tried to install it and it told me cannot install this cd key belongs to someone else :-(

It was shrink wrapped and all and it is supposed to be a great game

It is called Rage Anarchy Edition

Only because I love the first one and if it is as good as the first one or better and because you said it was a good game and I believe you :-)

 

Muhahahahahaha...I lied.   That is...if I really said it to be a "good" game. Because it is actually an excellent game and The Witcher 2 even better imho. Well I guess The Witcher 3 could still fail, somehow, because my expectations are SO!!! high.

The game isn't hard, you are just bad. *runs away*

 

I guess someone probably told you: Sneaking makes things a lot easier in this game, almost so much that it could be considered overpowered.

I purchased it from him on Kijiji he took my 30 dollars and handed me the game and ran away

And now it is a paper weight and Steam will absolutely do nothing for me

Basically too bad so sad

Yeah the tubular 1 is my goto choice the bey res is more of a fallback option.

Rage is a cool game, but you either got scammed by purpose or the buyer just didn't know. That message is basically telling you that the serial number of this game was activated on another account.

 

There are several potential reasons why this happened:

 

• he did it himself and re-wrapped the game, then sold it to you (scammer)
• the retail copy was sold a long time ago but never activated, so the publisher used the serial for another buyer (normally they shouldn't do something like that though)
• serials can be generated, illegally; someone was lucky and got this legit serial via a key generator

 

Chances to get it working on your pc are slim to zero. You could of course write to the publisher or Steam support, but you're the second owner of this game and can't prove that the former owner never activated the games serial by himself. You also don't have the original receipt of purchase.

 

 

PS: Sneaky tricks, eh? I mean you bought the game, could've pirated it, but you didn't so I guess this is not an option, as it shouldn't be.

 

If you really wanna play it, accept the 30 lost dollar as "lesson learned" money and buy Rage during one of the upcoming Steam sales. It will be very cheap there for sure. Much, much cheaper than 30$ anyway. So I guess you got kinda double-scammed there...sorry.

There you can always check games prior to buying them. If you search for a game it shows you the cheapest price during a past sale, so you can be sure that it will be at least as low during the next sale.

 

Rage is currently listet with a price of 20$...the all time cheapest price during a sale was 5$!!!

The CD key is on the original piece of cardboard and all, does not look fake :-)

And no I cannot prove that I am the original buyer

How much did you pay for this liquid cooling kit :-) ?

Haven't bought it all yet,getting it in stages as I can afford it but all in its about £360 for all the components of the loop it quite expensive though a single Strix 980 would cost me £491.Hope you had a safe trip home apologies for going quiet got distracted watching the latest episode of Around The Verse
