I run a full time guild in my only and favorite MMO I play in my free time. With 4 kids, pets, husband and work, and DAI not being that great I have not been around that much. I fitted my daughters prom dress and her best friends Prom dress today and my 18 year old sons Prom suit, so I stay busy. I was sorely disappointed with the latest patch and my games seem worse, so I just play Skyrim when I need a break. I have that game heavily modded and it is still fun to me.  I will probably buy Witcher 3, I have always liked CD project red games, even though I think they are male chauvinistic and old Euro attitudeish.  Also the Bioware mods have reprimanded me many times, and banned me once and I am back, so Peregrinus, don't worry so much. Besides Its also why I gave you all my gaming contacts as I imagine the next patch will get me perma banned.  They even bitched at me to change my "About me"profile because I used the word ass in it. I did change it, then I changed it back.  I just don't post much because what I have to say about DAI and Bioware is negative. We all deal with negatives everyday, I dont need to add more, so I try and say nothing, until my duct tape runs out and I go on a rant.

I got four more "likes" in and then:

You have reached your quota of positive votes for the day

WTH?

that kind of sounds like the server is lagging, too many people giving likes at the same time? or just too much activity in general at that point in time?

Cant wait for TW3... Im so excited.. Excitment i quickly lost just before i got DA:I...

@Perigrinas: its all good.. Just happened to notice you had a channe;l, wanted to make sure i gave some up votes   :)

My responses are a bit slow.. Sleeping off that vaca, and back to work today... Still sick   :(

@Lady Muture: Im with you.. i thought i heard something about the other witchers for TW#, if only a note.. Cannot recall.. And im in the same boat.. Job, 4kids, house, etc.. Skyrim is still great fun, modded... Though ive been picking up some new toys recently.. Grim Dawn (ty Killrb), Wasteland 1&2, Xcom/dlc, and still have to finish a few others on my steam account.. Most of my achievments are on PSX, and im having to reaquire so many..

Abandoned my Xbox account years ago, and never looked back.. Went full on PS3, and am now pretty much pure PC.. Came back to PC with Diablo 3(huge let down btw)..Always used PC for my mmop's and real rpg's, like DA:O..Played my consoles for my action games like Batman, or Assassins Creeds.. Before they started to suck with part 3..

@Rizilliant  Get rest, get better. I'm not feeling so great either.. It must be winter flu.

I abandoned my xbox account long time ago too after it got hacked into and my credit cards maxed out. I had to deal with my credit card companies to get my funds back since Microsoft was unwilling to help.

Hey!

According to the wife - a Witcher fanatic (she's read all the books, too) - some part of a witcher's mutation makes them extremely appealing to women, particularly the magic-slinging women.

So look at it this way - if you're so cool people give you cash just because you're cool, through nothing you can control, are you honestly gonna go, "no, no, I've too much money, I'm good."

Suuuuure.

And sorry I'm not here very much (yeah, people are weeping over that ;) ), been out testing the new Unreal Tournament pre-alpha and having hella fun. That game is gonna be sweet.  The Unreal Engine is amazing, free, and the whole game is fan oriented to the point the company is making the next UT with the fans.  Actual fan input and content.  Check out what the engine's capable of.

Right.  Frostbite good.  Riiiiiiiiight.  Feh.

And the pre-alpha is already working extremely well and has at least a dozen maps in five separate categories (deathmatch, CTF, etc).

Can you believe that?  A PRE-ALPHA game working damn-near perfectly with a ton of content that isn't considered remotely finished yet - and the fans are not only being encouraged to deliver input, etc, but also encouraged to learn the engine and submit content.

But then UT has always been a superior gaming experience and endlessly moddable.  The AI has always been superb and these are superlatives I don't casually throw around.  A MP where you don't actually need real people because the bots are just as crafty and unpredictable.  The AI is brutal enough that, by the time you do feel like plunging into MP with real people you can actually be competent at the game, know the maps, weapons and moves.

There also aren't too many games with iterations from 1999 that still have active MP servers.  There is no way in hell DA or ME MP will be played fifteen years from now.

Sorry for the rave.  Not EA-related and one never knows when an over-sensitive mod might come slithering in to slap a warning on one.

One more thing to tempt fate - anyone still playing this dog of a game (DA:I) after May 14th...  well, that's dedication to mediocrity.  Does EA honestly think anyone with any self-respect is going to hang around for six more months waiting for EA to 'fix' what they insist isn't broken?

The only thing DA:I has proven is how heavily "BioWare" has been mugged and pistol-whipped and how far EA will go to buy bogus opinion for a fast buck and no depths it won't trawl to pretend it has an actual 'reputation' worth the having.

Well, I'm off to go play something actually fun

I suggest y'all do the same.

15 years?  I give them at the most 3 months before multiplayer in this thing is done.  That's why it's so aggravating to see Eaware focus attention on MP when DAI should be single player only with no MMO elements whatsoever.  Please give me a more linear and guided experience if it means we can avoid empty expanses of fetch quests and nothingness. Not everything has to be like Skyrim.

EA should really consider using different engines for their various products.  Most of the engines now are either free or almost free to use.  Diversity isn't a bad thing.  You don't want all your games to look the same, which unfortunately it does with the frostbite engine. And most importantly, perhaps better suited towards an RPG.

Virtually nothing needs be like Skyrim, since we have Skyrim being as Skyrimmy as possible.

DA:I being a Dragon Age game would have been enough for me.  WTF is it with everything crammed full of MP anyway?  When I were a lad, (to sound now like an old fogey) social networking and multiplayer meant building forts out of snow or waging homemade sword and sorcery battles all over the fields behind my house with all my friends until the sun fell and suppertime rolled around.

Now kids barely look up at all, let alone spend hours creating their own coat-of-arms for the Great Clan House Chaos!  Bwahahaha!

It used to be awesome being a kid.  :(

As far as I know, it's a business principle of EA. Not a single game of every EA's business units is being approved at senior executive level without a MP element. MP is supposed to be where the money is because of bloody micro-transactions.

I posted the quote from EA CEO (or something) a while back. Can't seem to find it today.

It'll be like TitanFall all over again which is why its on permanent 48hr free trial on Origin you'd think EA would have learned from that but I guess not.

The irony was that I think it was Darrah or another DA staff said when asked that DA2 fulfilled EA's "all our games must have a online component" policy so it makes me wonder why the hell they shoe horned MP into dragon Age at all.

I guess I'm just not very appreciative of all the fluff that is in the game. The mounts, the pointless bottle collections, finding people's lost rings, the shard collecting, well as the connect the star mini games can all be stripped out and I really don't think anyone would notice. As I said previously, if they ripped out the 65% fluff out of this, the game would really be better for it. And since I'm ranting today, who designed the weapons/armor in this game?  Has anyone seen the unique cheese wheel shield?  Please tell me it was thrown in there as a joke that I don't understand.

I can state unequivocally that none of the stuff you mentioned was remotely necessary to the enjoyment of this game, given whatever enjoyment there is to find.  Completing a single sky puzzle, finding a a single shard, a single bottle of booze or any of those tiny little side quests added not a single thing to the game aside from wasting your time.  They had zero impact.  ZERO on how the game ended.  They didn't provide a single edge, interesting lore or a point for their doing.  Nothing.  Zip, nichts, zero.  The majority of the side quests were filler and nothing else

I defy anyone that slogged through this thing to say it was otherwise. If you're honest, you can't.

I am currently - as an experiment - replaying DA:I and cheating to give myself only enough experience to activate story missions and skipping all the running about advancing behaviour/filler.  Even with still being in Haven with this experimental Inquisitor, I can already say with a high degree of confidence that DA:I is in actuality a very short game with a lot of pointless tacked-on crap.  In this case, it is far too much like Skyrim - pretty and meaninglessly empty.

I have also found the cheese wheel shield.  It has a lovely comical cheese knife stuck in it.  I even managed to create the sad stick-on-a-banana weapon.

It's hilarious. <_<

DA:I is flogged as a hundred hours long adventure and this is true only in that it's waaaaaay too damn long.  People actually paid seventy bucks to run back and forth to ultimately do nothing, to finally finish the game with the most uninspired boss fight since the end of ME3.  At least that stinkin' reaper kid tried to explain things.

The most amusing thing to me is that EA actually had the bare-faced brass to set this slog up as a cliffhanger and obvious DLC bait, which is precisely what they did with the original vomiting-out of ME3. No demands for a better ending with this trudgery, however.  No DA:I EC, more's the pity.

That might change with the first fifteen dollar DLC.  Might.  Of course, by the time they get around to that, no one (hopefully) will give a damn.

And I know you doubtless know all this, but I really think it needs to be repeated as often as necessary.

They had something similar in Da2's legacy DLC as much as I enjoyed the story every other box/corpse contained a stale biscuit what the hell your supposed to do with them is anybody's guess,it seems for DAI they have just increased the amount of useless junk we can fill our miniscule inventories with, most certainly a console grade "quantity over quality" manta here.

Not to worry I played DAI for 7 hours and did not have a single glitch :-)

But it only took me seven hours of saying : a This game is boring as hell, and yes it has no appeal to it :-)

Yes superb graphics, plastic looking characters that looks like they covered themselves from head to toe in baby oil :-)

I agree we already had Skyrim, it was nice looking but also was an ok game, but finished that one and enjoyed it :-)

But for me DAI cost me nothing, I had the deluxe edition, sent it back to Amazon and got my 94.00 dollars back, but it is still on my Origin account, hence I got DAI for free and can download it anytime I want for free :-)

I fit love all the ME series even ME3 because I did understand the ending, ok the main character had to die and yes the silly kid explained it to me :-)

But to remove the bad taste of DAI I am playing The Witcher and Deus EX Buman Revolution directors Cut :-)

Will I reload DAI the chances are zero to none, but you never know, sine I have athe Witcher 3 on pre order :-)

And yes I agree:-)

They could have used a different engine :-)

Yes I am a graphic snob, but I will take a better story with no bugs before I take amazing graphics and no story and junk quests :-)

They could have used a different engine, but they spewed out that junk who for most people who manage to play the entire game will not play it again :-)

You see they could have went with Unreal4 for DAI :-)

It would have looked as good as Frostcrap engine, but still would have been a boring story still :-)

And with Unreal, a trained monkey can fix issues in it and you can bind keyboard to mouse :-)

It is quite bad that in this day and age trying to implement key binding breaks another part of the game :-)

An absolute disgrace from Bioware and EA, to push this plastic engine on us when no one there knows how to fix it :-)

I said before giving Frostbyte to those developers was like giving a 2 years old an automatic gun to play with :-)

You know something bad is going to happen :-)

nah, Unreal Engine 4 is too moddable.. They couldn't use something that would allow normal people to change things in the game.  :)

Yes I know the feeling :-)

It is like Frostbyte is top secret and no one can change something in it unless you wear a Bioware T shirt :-)

And even them cannot fix it, that is a joke :-)

They made this game for the consoles and they lied to us big time

Oh it will be like DAO, made by PC gamers :-)

As I said they will not get a penny out of me for ME4, because it will be the same crap as DAI, 6 months later still cannot click on what you want and cannot do keybindings :-)

Yeah, this frostbite engine 3 is looking to be a dud.  This just in.  http://www.gamespot....e/1100-6425788/
