There is even a quest (sorry, task, or I am still too generous?) that I was unable to complete because of the lack of walk toggle/terrible MPc ontrols. the one when you have to touch a pillar and do three circles counter-clockwise in the Hinterlands...so not only RP

You can actually do that just by running around it. You don't have to be touching it. I did. :)

Yes. That article re: the Xbone exclusive (which is freaking hilarious--they went Xbone and PS4 has double sales. TOLD YOU SO, BIOWARE <-- thus proving once and for all that I am, indeed, a woman).... cough... what was I saying. Oh, yeah. It's not that there are exclusives (which aren't really "exclusive", it's just they get it first.... just like they did the game itself), but the crock of bulldust they're trying to sell with it.

"So we can work faster". **** that noise. I despise liars.

puffery, dear Bethgael, puffery...come on

Torrent, really?

That's the real danger of pissing off your customers.  In the digital age, if you buy a a game, a video product or music, it's basically a gift to the company.

Even on consoles.

DAI Xboxone was cracked approximately two weeks after release, maybe sooner in Russia. And with Google Translate the Russian langage is no longer a real barrier.

Add 30 bucks to the fray for a Blue ray burner...

I got the Deluxe version reimbursed/ bought the cheapest one in Mexico/using VPN in less than 5 minutes after my first night of play and my first rant ...

and I was being nice

A developer does something unethical - putting a game out that is bugged, releasing a patch that is untested. So it's only fair to steal it, right? ;)

I also got my Digital Deluxe via Origin Mexico. Many people probably did. But there is a difference between pirating something and getting it cheap. This Origin Mexico thing isn't even illegal, since you don't actually buy via VPN. This "trick" has been around since at least Battlefield 3 and they have no intention of closing the door it seems. I bet they know that they make a good profit with this by the sheer numbers of copies sold...

You're violating the EULA by doing so, hence it's illegal.

Whereas, using Torrent while owning a legitimate copy is not illegal in my country. Not really in the US as well, depending on the States.

False or deceptive advertising is in pretty much every law system I know. Legal semantics and propaganda. Making you fearrrrrrr. that's all

People used to hang for that you know. one of the very first laws of commerce.

More like "they took my money for something that I can't play at all, so I really don't feel bad about playing Mass Effect instead for free." In fact, my wife and I bought 2 copies of the deluxe edition from Amazon so that we could play together legally but as neither of us can play now (we own PCs, and PCs have mice and keyboards which we will use to play. We don't own controllers and will not buy them just for this game). So EA has $140 of our money and what do we have? A console game deceptively sold as a PC game. That is not what I asked for. So no, I don't feel bad for EA if people choose to pirate their games to make up for their deceptive practices.

It would have been better if EA had release the console version of the game in November, to hit the peak holiday buying season, and held the PC version until now - when they could spend the extra time creating a proper PC UI & click-to-move/attack/interact scheme since the PC UI needs to be done from scratch as opposed to ported from the console version. I'm sure PC fans would have patiently waited those extra 2 months if they knew why it was taking longer. Sure you'd have 2 months of PC fans bitching but then at release you'd have generally satisfied PC customers (ok, yeah, it's the internet, they'd be complaining about something). Instead they have PC customers complaining from launch and unlikely to stop complaining until the PC UI is redone, for which there is no reason or motivation on EAs part to do at all now.

I can't be bothered with torrents or sh-t, I like to just walk down a store, buy a game, come home, install it, and have the case on display. Besides like Bethgael I'm from Australia, so my net isn't very reliable (also why Ubisoft has been boycotted with their online-only DRM BS). It's either limited but reliable, or unlimited and prone to dropouts.

If the game/company doesn't interest me I just won't buy it, I'll buy something else instead and forget about it. Money isn't a problem, it's where the money goes. Like hell I actually preordered TW3 simply because of their non-DRM stance, the lore/background of TW doesn't really interest me even though I did enjoy TW2, but I put my money in where I want the industry to go. Simple.

So with EA/Bioware's direction as well as all the lies thinking they can get away with lying to my face and taking my money - AS FKING IF they will get my cash or even any interest. DAI is now officially the last Bioware game I'll play.

More like "they took my money for something that I can't play at all, so I really don't feel bad about playing Mass Effect instead for free." [...]

The correct way imho would be to boycott then, not to steal. You know...I'm not without reason in this. Wanna download a game and test if it runs? I know people who do that. But I also know that they then buy the game when it runs and when they like it. Every single game without exception!

In absence of an actual demo a download like this is probably the closest you get to a demo. So by all means...I mean who am I to judge other people anyway. But admitting in a public forum to piracy is just plain dumb in my honest opinion. Sorry, just how I see it. ;)

Illegal - yeah, that's what I meant, just covered it in sarcasm. ;)

But...torrents are legal? I'm hearing this for the first time. You're just referring to the process of downloading something via a torrent? Because I'm pretty sure the means of how you pirate a game does not count towards the legality of pirating it, or does it?

Give me five minutes. I had to ban the guy, who disconnected after posting that. Let's say it depends on the country you live in. not advocating anything. End of discussion, please.

Of course, of course. It wasn't a very good idea to start discussing this in the first place. I pay for all of my games is all I have to say in this matter anyway. ^^

well, for the record, I didn't admit to it. Just said I don't feel bad for EA over it.

I work in a very large thrift store. If I want cheap games, I've got all I need and I often don't need to wait very long before they show up

I won't. Bioware might have.  That's why I had to react quickly.  And thank you. I also think that what we have here is already beautiful.  Sorry for being a tad lyrical.

Meh, plenty of other devs/games in the market thankfully.

Have my eyes on this one, posted this for Ashen but I thought I share it with you guys on this thread: PLANET EXPLORERS!

For me, Planet Explorers version 0.84alpha was more stable than many AAA releases, sadly including DAI (which crashed constantly on me at first, until I "fixed" it by only playing in windowed full screen mode and using latest AMD drivers). I have not tested patch 3 to see if I can finally use full screen mode however, but thankfully windowed full screen works fine.

Regardless Planet Explorers has already given me 200 hours of gaming and creation goodness, a few crashes/glitches, but stable overall. it's still alpha (which means planned features are not yet implemented), sound assets are not fully in, main storyline is not yet complete, etc etc. The devs themselves are planning to upgrade to Unity 5 later - which I'm waiting for. However, already, here's what people have made: http://www.isoplanetexplorer.com/

And since this is the Bioware forum, for the fans:

http://www.isoplanet...mo-ME-1329.html

PE 0.86 is still working fine for me too, give it a shot, though it is a sandbox game. You'll be mining and harvesting resources, however, for some reason, I never got bored, as I was not just mining crap I was building a mining complex at the same time with ladders/torches/defences/etc etc. Then I used those resources to build cars, trucks, jets, helicopters, boats, submarines, then building my own colony and home. You can make ANYTHING in the game. Including:

http://www.isoplanet...royer-1402.html

http://www.isoplanet...sport-1190.html

The ingame creation system does require some skill, and can be intimidating at first, but it is so easy to use that once you get the hang of it, you can churn out vehicles within the hour. Well, maybe not a star destroyer like that guy lol, but yeah.

Made this myself with the ingame creation system in Planet Explorers:

Decent year for indies really, Divinity still takes the cake however overall.

Yeah... C&C fan right here, so I've seen EA at work with Westwood... RIP, now Bioware... RIP

Still, my Orca! :)

For the sake of transparency. I just hid one of my posts, guys.  It could inflame imbeciles.  Godzilla, I had to hide yours too, since you quoted me.

but you're blameless in this.

I just got done doing my taxes so I thought I would share a happy inducing pic to compensate.   :)

On a side note, I just got finished with the "here lies the abyss" quest. The cutscenes were a slideshow mess which hasn't been an issue for me until now. It was pretty cool for the parts I did catch . The voiceovers were cutting out all over the place.  :(
