Yes got to love PC only games :-)
I remember when Skyrim came out a bit of time after that they came out with a developer kit that you could make your own levels and put in mosters and all that stuff, then you could send the level to your friends and let them play it, I think that was a great idea :-)
Hope you learn the engine, it sounds like lots of fun :-)

Yeah, the Creation kit. The best examples of it are Falskaar, and Wyrmstooth.

So's Unreal 4... sort of. As in if you release a game you owe them 5% of the first 3k you make per quarter. I've opted to learn it since I'll never be selling anything. So it's free for me lol!

I think the comparison to Unreal engine is not a good one. Unity free is actually free for those who bring in less then 100,000 in revenue. Also, from what I've seen so far, Unity is far easier to use, and modular. Although 5% is actually not bad at all. Both are good for hobbyists, indy, kickstarter type projects. I think Unreal engine has a higher learning curve though. I remember playing around with the original unreal engine and I found it to be somewhat difficult to figure out. Hi, LunaFancy!

Yes those mods :-)
Supposedly the creation kit was not easy to work with :-)
Not a programmer , prefer playing with the hardware and making OS's as lean and trim as possible:-)

I've actually tinkered with it and it's not hard to learn. It's just clunky to use. And if it crashes while compiling your mod, it will make you cry.

You are correct:-)
From thei web page :-)
Democratizing game development and success is still at the heart of what we do. One way we do that is to keep our licensing simple. Whether you download Unity 5 Personal Edition for free, or buy or subscribe to Unity 5 Professional Edition, you pay no royalties and the content you create as a Unity user is yours.

Hi yourself! ![]()
I read a few comparisons when I was deciding which one I wanted to fiddle with and apparently you can play with Unreal 4 without ever having to use code up to a point, anyway, because it has something called 'Blueprint visual scripting'.
Sold. Right there. Because I can't use code and really, what are the chances of me getting to the point where it's needed. Slim to none, them's the chances. So it looked like the best option for me to fiddle around for a bit before deciding it's all to hard and giving up lol! At least with this one I might have something to show for my efforts at the end. ![]()

lol! Not anymore, all growed up and 5 years old now. That was the first pic I found of them is all.
If the gods favour me though, I'll be adding a PUPPY to the family at the end of May... ![]()

You should get a shepherd dog. They love horses.

You mean Aussie Shephard (which is in no way an Australian breed so wtf with the name lol!) ?
I'm not a fan of long haired breeds, and this time round I want a little dog because of my back. I'm after a Chinese Crested and I've already put my hand up for a litter due at the end of the month, but since I specifically want a hairless male, I have to wait and see if one is born. If not, there's another litter down the track. Fingers crossed!

Chinese crested? Your dog is going to be smaller then your cats.

Ah, sort of like a border collie. Nah, not my style of dog, though I get the appeal they have for their fans. I just don't like hairy dogs lol! I don't even let my horses grow winter coats!
I'm quite looking forward to having a pocket pooch to be honest. I'll take him to obedience and agility like I did with my weim, only he'll be tiny and easier to keep up with lol!

YUP!
I still remember what ti was like having a weim puppy- and my back was sound then...tiny dog is appealing. ![]()
Plus- jackets! lol! I've already decided to name him Akira, because of the manga hair. ![]()

I've already succumbed to temptation and bought a Japanese brand faux leather jacket because it looked like an anime jacket...and I don't even have a dog yet lol! I will be embarrassing once I have one, I can promise this much. ![]()

Had to, there was only one left lol!
On a saner note, I've been watching BETA gameplay from PoE and you know what? Screw the zoom, it just looks fun.
Can't promise that I'll be a total isometric convert, but there's good elf lore in this one so I'm sold. And SCL too, probably.
TW is leaving me a bit cold though I'm afraid. Gameplay is okay so I'll finish the first two eventually (mainly because I want to se the elves), but the dialogue is a bit cringey so I think it will take me a while. I doubt very much I'll be jumping on the TW3 bandwagon after all.
Perhaps I'm just enjoying Skyrim too much though lol!

Sorry to jump in the mids of conversation about doggies
, but can you please provide a little more info to "visual scripting".
Is this similar to node structure implemented in basically every 3D program?
