I keep the log on my Mac just in case the PC was to fry or something of that sort, but not something that will happen :-)
It was put together with passion and love :-)

Good question to ask :-)
I myself keep a log of everything I change on my system on my Mac
Drivers, hardware, software install and removal, updates, firmware updates, services I disable, basically anything I do to my system I keep a log :-)
It is a good habit to get into :-)
Leave it to DAI to have possibly screwed up something on Invisible Man PC
As I said before DAI is a virus and a boring one at that :-)
Yeah, good habit. I keep everything I install software wise in a folder called downloads. It's a good way to know what might have caused an issue by date and time if needed.

I actually put my critical stuff on a flash drive and also encrypted on google drive. If my computers fail for any reason, it's never a big problem. I generally also burned files on a DVD if I find it to be something I don't want to redownload.. Things like Skyrim mods, etc.

Have you updated any mods during the period?
Which mod manager are you using?
Edit: Questions for Invisible Man

You certainly have to appreciate the size of flash drives these days. I actually have a self booting custom Windows 7 auto installer on a 8 gig flash drive, and then a 64 gig flash drive for other stuff.

I imagine Invisible man is using Nexus mod manager. It's the best I've used so far and it supports a lot of different games.

If you are using NMM and you want to see what changes you have made and when they were made, in mod view, switch to uncategorized view. Sort on installation date. Sort again to get the latest on top. This works for updated files as well.

I was just looking at the Witcher 3 recommended requirements. It's really not that harsh as I originally thought.
Intel i5 4460 3.2 ghz or AMD FX 8150
Nvidia GTX 760 or AMD R9 280
8 gigs of ram
DX 11
Heck, I even hit the minimum specs.
Intel i5 2500k 3.3 ghz or AMD Phenom II X4 940
Nvidia GTX 660 or AMD HD 7870
6 gigs of ram
DX 11

You can use BOSS to do most of the work and reorder certain ones depending on the circumstances.

Boss and Loot only works on the Plug-in order. Some problems are caused when files are activated in a certain order. (i.e.) texture and mesh replacers without plug-ins.

Your system blows away the recommended specs so I don't foresee an issue for you.
Not only that, CDProjekt Red is very good at optimizing their games. Witcher 2 ran well on a such a wide berth of systems. I can even run it on my laptop.. I won't be running Witcher 3 on the laptop but the desktop with a video card upgrade should do the trick.
I was actually surprised that they got it to run smoothly on a XB360. I think they know some strange voodoo magic or something to make that happen.

BSW and the modding community have taken the Gamebryo engine about as far as it is able to go.

The mesh path. full
The texture path. full.
The scripting path. Don't get me started. lol

I think you're right about that but what a amazing amount of content/progress for a game that's going on 4 years now.
For Skyrim anyway and over a decade for the older Elder Scrolls.

Some people may disagree with me, but the last two decades has been amazing for gamers like us.

The 270x is the better card, of course. It's been a best buy at Tom's Hardware for months, if that helps.

It's for my experimental APU Desktop that I built from parts I had with some new parts. $150 total spent so far.
AMD Kaveri A8-7600 65W
8 gigs DDR2100 RAM
Gigabyte AM2+ F2A68HM MB
24x DVD RW drive
EVGA bronze 80+ 430W PSU
Smilodon Raidmax Case
2x 500 gig WD 7200 RPM HD
1x 250 gig WD 7200 RPM HD
Windows 7 Pro 64 bit

I would go GTX960 in SLI and your performance would be 5% less than a 980 at a much cheaper price :-)
But you would still have only 2 Gig of VRAM
The 960 is cheap it is Nvidia and blows away the 270x and that is AMD stuff

Here is the proof:-)

That's not really an option for me unfortunately. The board doesn't have 2 PCIe-16x and also it would kill the entire purpose of the build. I'm keeping this under 170 bucks.

With 430 Watt PSU, SLI is out of the question or really pushing it :-)
But look at the link I sent you
It is the best web page for video card comparison:-)

Yeah, I do use it as reference but I like seeing actual performance numbers from games. Also, as you said SLI would destroy my PSU. Trying to keep this very budget friendly.. I'll eventually do a normal build where a Nvidia card will very likely be involved.
