But I will wait for the ASUS Strix version of the cards, since I never buy reference cards :-)

And the 34% is not a guarantee, in some benchmark the Titan X was only 4% faster :-)

So when it does come out I will look at it :-)

But dual GTX 980 ASUS Srix Direct CU II goes real well on my Haswell E 5960X 8 core 16 threads :-)

And my ASUS Rampage Extrene V mother board has 4 x 16 3.0 slots on it, guess I could run 4 of those :-)

What video card do you run again :-)?

And the article says up to 34% from the 980 reference card :-)

Not from the ASUS or the MSI or EVGA :-)

And the 980TI is coming out in 6 months and will obliterate the Titan X

Nvidia is sneaky that way, the 980TI will have 8 gig of VRAM and if they were to release it now, no one would buy the Titan X :-)

Articles have to be read properly and research has to be done before coming to conclusions that are incorrect:-)

Titan X 12 gig = $1350

Geforce GTX 980 TI 8 gig= $699

That's quite a premium price for 4 extra gigs of vram, no?

Than add a few extra hundred dollars for the ASUS Strix OC Direct CU II that has better cooling, more heatsinks:-)

The reference card always lack good cooling and OC and they are single fan, compare to ASUS or MSI or EVGA that is better built and more rugged and can be OC like a Banshee :-)

But I agree with you :-)

And they claim the 980TI may have faster memory also :-)

I have my doubts Asus will put such a huge premium on their product.  They will price it fairly competitively. This is why they are on the top of the food chain after all.  :)  I imagine it'll be around $750 for the Asus card.

Yes we have a 15% tax :-)

But in this comparison, you get a whole lot more card with the ASUS:-)

Than you do with the EVGA reference card :-)

And what is funny ATI used to be a Canadian company until they got bought out by AMD :-)

Sounds familiar with another product we used to talk about :-)

Yeah, I remember.  I've owned lot of ATI cards in my time.  Although I still miss the glory days of 3DFX.

My father used to talk about Matrox, now he used to say those were the good old days :-)

He showed me one last year :-)

I had never heard of them was before I was born I guess, but they do not exist anymore either :-)

He told me he was nearly in tears when that company went out of business:-)

Maybe you heard of them :-)

Yeah, I was heartbroken when they went under.  They built very specific cards for CAD, and photoshop.  They were one of the first companies to have dual head headers for dual monitor use. I had a Matrox G450.

There was a another small company called Rendition.  I loved their card too but they went under before 3DFX did.  Rendition verite 2200.  I had the Diamond Stealth S220 AGP video card.

It says they have a AMD GPU on it, so maybe they were acquired by AMD :-)

If that's the case, then they really aren't the same. Matrox never used AMD chips on their cards.

Ok, so I looked up the WIKI, and they simply changed focus to the niche market.

Since then, Matrox has continued to shift the focus of its card designs towards specialized, niche markets, moving more deeply into enterprise, industrial, and government applications. In recent years they have held no more than a 3–5% share of the total video card market. Matrox is now divided in three divisions: Matrox Graphics, Matrox Video, and Matrox Imaging. Matrox Graphics is the primary consumer and end-user brand, while Matrox Video markets digital video editing solutions, and Matrox Imaging sells high-end video capture systems and "smart cameras", video cameras with a built-in computer for machine vision applications.

I guess it is time for me to order 2 of those and replace my 2 GTX 980 :-p

Since my dealer has a 60 day return policy :-p

Too bad for you I guess :-p

Why for me? Oh I'm not like this. I buy what I need and don't get unhappy when other people buy more expensive stuff. ;)
