Prolly gonna start again in a few days. Use the same character and play one or the other of the DLC's. Played the vanilla game the first time so, I have some content left to explore. Also may finish this game just for kicks.

Those are AMD bull crap story :-)

The 970 is still a great card even with the 3.5 Gig of VRAM:-)

And it still kicks butt :-)

Lots of people have them and it would be a major increase over what you got now for less coins :-)

And sorry but you do not do 4K playing hence there is no problems with the 970 :-)

I didn't have this fed to my by AMD, I have read about this on my own and drew my conclusions. ;) Think about it: AMD is so honest and recommends future dx12 over their own API "Mantle". When it comes to straight forward honesty, open source and customer friendlyness, I'd say AMD is some lightyears ahead of Nvidia. That's at least my impression.

If you think 4k is the only upcoming problem than you either did not read my post or simply refuse to believe it. That's fine, everyone can believe what they want. :)

Oh and SLI is cool, when it works. For new games the chances are often very slim (afaik), so you gotta wait patches or driver updates. Not my cup of tea.

TL;DR: If AMD is good for the money than so be it. I'm not going to stick to a company because of fanboy-mode, sorry. ^^

No fanatics here, just that Nvidia is better and AMD lied also :-)

So they both get a slap on the wrist, but still the 970 is a great card, watching reviews and researching :-)

I know they both tend to lie, but Nvidia does it better. The lying. :D

@Ashen Nedra  I think GTX770 with a strong CPU should be okay for 1080p.  You just won't be maxing the game.

@Jackal19851111 I think you should go for R9 290 or GTX970. What motherboard do you have?

@MatrixGirl  I still think the GTX 960 is a poor option. It's a stop gap measure and you saw it's benchmark for Frostbite engine 3. It's not even in the mid range.

Did not look bad, but yest the 960 is a decent entry level card in the 900 series :-)

Yes and did not do so went for dual 980 :-)

But still know that the 970 is a kick ass card :-)

And well priced :-)

For people who know limitation and have an open mind and common sense :-)

@ManletSteele

Your 970 is a great card :-)

These are probably the sweet spot you want to hit if your budget is around $300 US.

In the $200 price range,  these are your options. At 1080p, Nvidia always takes the lead but as the resolution climbs, the more AMD cards become compelling due to it's wider bus , floating point performance and shader count.

In the lower end of the spectrum, these two are your options.

Of course, once you hit the highest range of cards, the price difference is $200 US.  AMD doesn't have something in the 500 dollar range. If price is not a barrier, the GTX 980 beats everything including Titans.

Thank you :-)

And the issues with the 970 does not happen until you go into heavy 4K for those who have 970 :-)

It's true that GTX 970 will normally not hit that 3.5 gig memory issue but this shows you exactly what I pointed out. At 1080p, 970 is a clear choice but at 4k, not so much.

Unsure why Nvidia positioned the Titan as a gaming card because it truly is a better scientific data/litecoin mining type card.  You won't be doing that on a 980 but the 980 crushes the Titan in 100% synthetic/real-life gaming benchmarks. There are going to be some really unhappy Titan owners out there when 980TI releases.

Once again, if price isn't the barrier then nothing on the market right now beats the 980 but for people like me,  price/performance is a big deal.

The 970 at 3.5 gig of VRAM,is still a great card :-)

Number 4 and those tests are ran daily:-)

AMD fan boys look for ways to make a great card look bad :-)

@MatrixGirl I  think it's a good card as well but a lot of Nvidia 970 owners feel betrayed because they were told it was a 4 gigabyte card but it really isn't. My prediction is that once 980TI releases, all of the cards below it will receive a price drop. The 970 would be a tremendous value at $249 which is really the magic price point for the  mainstream. Even if they cut it down to a 3 gig card to hit that price point, it would be a good maneuver on their side.

Yes there is nothing wrong with the 970 even in 4K but not too many people playb4K anyway :-)

Hence making the 970 still a great card performance to price ratio :-)

Mhm...really no offense MatrixGirl, but saying "there is nothing wrong with the GTX 970" is plainright ignorance. Ignorance of the facts that is, not towards us. ;)

We may not see it now or only with 4k, but dx12 is coming this year. I don't know how quick you change your graphic cards but I usually hold on to mine for a year and a half, if not longer. So I gotta get something that has a future use...

So the 970 is a 3.5 gig of VRAM video card it is still 4th on the list :-)

So live with it even at 3.5 gig of VRAM, beats top of the line AMD :-)

And as I said if you can get it in open box due to paranoia and stupidity since it is still a great card :-)

Buy it , you will never play 4K anyway :-)
