@Perigrinus:

How goes Grim Dawn? What class/level are you playing?

@LunaFancy:

The Thrustmaster T-Flight HOTAS X cannot be had for list price anywhere, even on-line.

The only place I have found them at all is through re-sellers on Amazon ... for 2X the list price and up

(edit)

By list price I mean that Wal-Mart lists them for $44.88, and BestBuy and Target for $48.99.

Bioshock infinite, and rest of the series was using Unreal engine , just not the new version 4.   Of course, Aion used Cryengine 1, and Crysis 2 maximum edition used Cryengine 2.  Haven't played any of these?

No, played some early games that used the original Unreal engine and the first Crysis.

Grim Dawn is brilliant.  The latest patch improved on visuals and stomped out some more bugs.. I'm playing a Soldier/Nightblade.  Level 24 :)

You're both Philistines! Pokemon was amazing- I was even addicted to the TV show. I'm going to send Frizzle, my lvl 100 Charizard round to both of your places and let him educate you to the glory of the Pokemon!

Nice, Blademasters are wicked ... especially if you can get your hands on the entire Bloodreaper's Glory set.

For maximum destruction try a Saboteur ... with the Grenadier's Shoulderguards.

(edit)

Ticked that there's yet another bridge/door I can't get across/through until they release the next chapter.

Jon Bourbon has been the biggest hindrance for me so far.

Aaargh!!!

Oddly enough, I liked the shows ... though I think Team Rocket really got shafted.

... and I still want a Raichu of my very own.

I'll definitely try the other classes.. I'm still trying to get a good soldier build going.  I'm not exactly too far in the game. The wildlife zerg on a lot and I tend to get killed fairly easily. :)

I remember standing in line at the mall when they were giving out Mew lol! I had both my Red and my ex's Blue game and jaysus I made some awesome Pokemon trades with the little kids in line with me. Their parents gave me a few odd looks, but once we got talking, it turned out most of them were as hooked on the game they were 'helping' their little kid with as I was. :)

[rant/on]

... and another thing I'm really po'd about:

Bosch, the new detective drama on Amazon TV.

As a long-time Micheal Connelly reader and Bosch fan I am thrilled to see Detective Hieronymus Bosch brought to life on the little screen.

It is getting rave reviews and the first episode is free.

What I'm not thrilled about is that you have to stream it.

I cannot figure out any way to download it, and cannot get an answer out of Amazon as to if/how.

Have you tried one of the Firefox browser download add ons KilrB? There's a couple that claim to download just about anything you can view on your PC.

@KilrB There doesn't seem to be a way to download it.  It's streaming only but maybe only because it's a free episode?

I've tried IDC (Internet Download Manager) but none of the FireFox addons yet.

I'm hoping it's streaming only for a limited time and will be available for download later, maybe as apart of a Season One set ... though I sure don't want to wait that long to see it.

When you stream a show, it has to cache it somewhere, right?

I remember early on having to find where video and audio files were being cached and having to copy them from the temporary folder to a more permanent location to keep them.

Wonder if I can do that with Bosch?

Are you playing two characters ... Soldier and Nightblade, or a Blademaster (Soldier/Nightblade combo)?

I currently have a Blademaster @ lvl32, a Saboteur @ lvl40, and a Pyromancer @ lvl13.

My Blademaster is sporting the Grenadier"s Shoulderguards too, but the results aren't nearly as spectacular as they are with the Saboteur.

(edit)

Looking forward to the addition of Quartermasters too so we can finally take advantage of our faction standings.

Unlike a certain other recent game were faction standing got me squat ...

annnd ... they can be modded, easily.

For all the hype about Frostbite, the Creation and X-Ray engines can still be modded to look and play better than it.

So far anyway.

... and don't forget, they can be easily modded.

Except all the "hype" about Frostbite is basically that they can easily consolize the interface and lock down everything that's "troublesome" in their eyes... instead of actually putting the work forward to create something that caters to many platforms.

I think we all agree that there's much better gaming engines available- but all companies want to be the "one" that creates their own engine that works multiplatform with a minimal amount of effort (thus increasing "profit", etc.).

It's sad, really. Sure it's about making money- but sacrificing the gaming industry as a whole to make a quick buck is a little bit extreme to me. Given enough time they're gonna roll us all back to Atari-style graphics and make everyone think it's "modern" or something. Then again, look at how Apple and Microsoft are doing new OS interfaces with "simplicity" and it really doesn't shock me all that much.

Because... "it's all been done before"? I don't think so. I think they've just gotten lazy instead of actually being inventive and creative. Look at all the "reboot" movies coming out... very few original ideas.

What relics are you using?

If you get your hands on the Bloodreaper's Glory set and put Hollow Fangs in both that should keep your health up.

Go for retaliation damage and boosts to "cunning" and attack speed n everything else you can.

(edit)

The "Slaughter" transcendant relic works very well with the Blademaster.

I can't recall but I'll take a look next time I look.

Aside from the shameless marketing advertisement toward the end, this video kicks a** IMO. It really does capture a lot of how I feel about PC/Console arguments. It's not about "PC/Console Master Race", but rather if you're going to design games for both, do it WELL and not half-baked- or favoring one over the other under the guise of compatibility, etc. Or... simply just design for one and let the customer decide whether they're going to buy it.

as for GD, I'm using a lvl-18 blademaster , more nightblade than soldier.

now, regarding RFTS, there isn't really ground combat other than sending troop transports to capture a planet. but, I guess that's kind of the norm. you either get ground combat or space combat, you rarely get both.
