Hi, I'm Brogan.
Chicks dig me, because I rarely wear underwear. And when I do, it's usually something unusual...
Ironically, I don't play many computer games, at least not nearly as many as I used to, before I was jaded, before I really knew how cold and heartless the people behind the curtains were... before the Empire.
I hold some intense memories of FPS's as a young adult, and not solely because of the thrills I enjoyed as a rabid noob hunter on the servers (I'm talking all the Rainbow Six titles, some of the CoD editions, all the BF games - Oh, how I'd make those hi-pingers wail), but also the stories of those games, the campaigns.
One of my greatest memories lies in the snow crunching footsteps of the original Medal Of Honor: Allied Assault, played during the Christmas holidays with the relatives safely in the living room, and me avoiding Nazi's until I found the submarine hanger. That's just 1 of many, many pc games that have taken up residence in my temporal lobe as the years go by.
Baldur's Gate is obviously where *this* love affair started. Many questioned my choice of creating all 6 of my own characters, on my 1st playthrough. But I didn't care. I wanted to write a story as I played (I was into writing back then), so I wrote my own backgrounds and decided to read everything RA Salvatore published. BG2 was as epic for me as it was for everyone else. ToB blew me away. IWD 1&2, as well. Mods made me play again, and again.
Then Origins came out. I was skeptical, because it wasn't D&D, for about 20 minutes. Then I saw that video that came with the deluxe edition, explaining how to play. You know who was in that video. Yup, I had no idea the lies Mr Laidlaw was capable of in those simple, sleepy days. DA2 was a bit less of a home run, but I still enjoyed the story. But because I wasn't blown away, I didn't replay DA2. Not even once, until this past summer as I replayed both in lead-up to DAI. Played all the DLC's and I have to say I enjoyed them (especially Legacy)
It seems I could have waited till much later to begin that process.
Anyway, sorry about the novel. If there's anything you'd like to know, just ask. I will be honest, however and say I only joined the BSN to get info on DAI, learn about it's details, be a part of its release, and apparently, become addicted to discussion of it until they fix the damn thing.
Once I am satisfied with the game, even if I have to force myself to swallow a bitter pill in order to get my Thedas fix, I truly doubt I will be a frequent visitor here. I'm sure you all fit into that description to some degree as well. I just thought I should be clear with anyone who cares to know.
