@ManleySteele  I honestly don't think they learned anything. I also don't believe Bioware had a choice in what engine they wanted to use.  EA enforced it on them in the middle of production. Bioware claims it was their choice but if it was , there isn't any logical souls left there. I personally feel they would have been better off using UE 3.5 like they used on Mass Effect 3 and spend all the time creating a rich story.  It really didn't need to be open world and filled with emptyness.

I run Nvidia cards and never had one DX crash in DAI :-)

Lots of it has to do with the driver version you are running also :-)

And my gaming rig is fine tuned and has Ccleaner on it keeping files and registries nice and tidy :-)

@ManleySteele

I would not rush for the Titan X since in all the benchmarks the GTX 980 in SLI blows it away by 25% :-) and uses less power :-)

But I would hold out for the GTX 980 TI coming this fall with 8 Gig of VRAM they will blow the Titan X away :-)

Right now spending 2K on a Titan SLI configuration is kind of wasted money :-)

And at this time there are no games out there that takes the full advantage of 12Gig of VRAM and not for a long time :-)

Wait got the GTX980 TI who will come in at a decent price in the 650 to 700 dollar range and will make the Titan X look like it is standing still :-)

I played all the ME series and loved them all equally:-)

Yes it did not have the video quality of DAI, but it worked well and had a superb story:-)

Some people did not like the ending of ME3, I enjoyed the ending :-)

Yes they had more story and you could slip into the ME series and immerse yourself in the story, and it had a rock solid engine and it was kind of sandbox, there were hundreds of planets out there to visit or scan and find all kind of interesting stuff :-)

DAI with its Frostcrap engine and no one who knows how to fis II is shameful:-)

I will not be rushing for ME4 either, I do not need multiplayer, I need great graphics with a story, it is not a hard thing to ask :-)

But the money is in micro transactions as in pay to win and EA is good at that, once they have your money they do no give a damn :-)

My opinion that is all :-)

I'm not falling all over myself looking for a reason to buy a Titan X.  The memory issues have already turned me off. I don't suppose a lot of people know that NVidia recommends that a system has 3 times the standard memory as whatever graphics card you are running.  That would put the Titan X at 36GByte of standard memory.

The more interesting figure, to me, is the 24Gbyte minimum memory requirement. What is the result, if you don't have enough? They don't say but you can bet your bottom dollar that if you have issues with a Titan X that is the second question they will ask, right after the power supply question.

Right now, I'm not in the kind of gaming mode I would need to be in to make building a new system the only option, which is when I upgrade hardware.  I'm firmly in the wait and see camp when it comes to the bleeding edge of technology.

A build to upgrade to  a Titan X as a gaming platform would be around $2500 with no case, power supply, storage or OS.  That's more than I'm willing to commit, right now.

On a weirder note, I found a dual Xeon motherboard for less than the cost of my preferred X-99 board, but the processors run from $2200 to $2800 each, plus memory. lol.

The X99 is the board I run and ASUS makes a wicked board and with my Haswell I7 5960X

With 8 core and 16 threads running nice and cool with the 32Gig of 2400 RAM and my dual ASUS Strix Direct CU II GTX 980. I am ready for what Evers they can throw at me :-)

And dual Intel 500Gig SSD in RAID zero, things look great :-)

The Xeon is more of a server / heavy workstation CPU, not a big gaming CPU :-)

I run one in my Mac Pro 2.7 GHZ 12 cores 20MB of cache and yes it is fast doing rendering and is. 3500 dollars CPU :-)

The Xeon processor is like. Freight train , put as much load as you want, but do not ask me to do short curves :-)

I have been running ASUS motherboards for a loooong time.  IMO they are the best money can buy. My preferred mobo is the ASUS X-99WS. It is a monster. You really can't find a board to equal it at any price. At $519, it's one of the more expensive X-99 boards, but you get everything you paid for with this board. Every sub-system is optimized with performance in mind. I don't care a fig about on board wifi or any of those other "features".

I run EVGA graphics cards.  Less to see there, regarding differences from other manufacturers.

Forever is a long time, but I don't see myself SLI'ing anytime soon. I also don't overclock unless you count factory over-clocking.

I spend an inordinate amount of time choosing memory and power supplies, but that's just one of my foibles.

I'm just a plain, weird hare-brained schemer when it comes to storage and cases. lol. That's where I exorcize my inner geek.

Mine is the X99 ASUS Rampage V Extreme and that is a 500 dollars board and there is a patch coming out so I can run my RAM at 3000 instead of 2400 :-)

The X99 Rampage V extreme is their top of the line because of its Haswell support :-)

So we must be talking about the same board :-)

Yes another thing in life we must do :-)

Grocery shopping :-)

But it is more fun to do than playing DAI :-)

At least with groceries you get what you pay for :-)

I guess you'all wouldn't be surprised if I tell you that I don't share the hype for POE. :P

I mean I did play Baldurs Gate, but that was then and this is now. ^^ I prefer 3d graphics. And I'm sure TW3 will set the record straight, showing that good looking games can be deep rpgs. ...sometimes. :D

Yes I am looking forward to TW3 :-)

It is going to be a superb game that does not need 12 patches to make it work :-)

It is going to be a nice day when it releases soon :-)

As far as POE, do not know much about this game, but I am sure lots of people will like it :-)

And it will take the DAI bad taste out of people mouths until TW3 comes out :-)

I've just been over to the PCCC thread, patch 6 is out and apparently the game will no longer read the merged folder. That's right, they've found a a way to prevent mods working in the game. WTF are they thinking? According to modders, the only way to use mods now is to stick them directly in the patch folder.

I cannot believe how low this company has gone at this point. Wow, just wow.

Oh, and DLC is out tomorrow - good luck with that...

No real games except TW3 coming out soon anyway.  I do like the stories Andre Sapkowski writes, but I would like to know more about what happened to the other Witchers in the game. In The Witcher, they all split up and the game follows Geralt...So what happened to the others?  The older Movie The Witcher is only in Polish and not available in US usually and only covered part of the 1st stories...Don't think it was called the Witcher either...(googles it)  AH yes it was called "The Hexer"   Came out in 2001 The actor is a hottie and was pretty sexy.

I am sure I had mentioned a month or so ago that Bioware was going to find a way for mods not to work

Because they were embarrassed that normal people was making the game better :-)

Bioware does not want anyone to mess with this game for some reason

But the answer I got is "modders always find a way "

Guess my prediction was right

Not happy about this, but it just shows how low Boiware will stoop to prevent people from playing with their Frostbyte engine

Let's all line up for the DLC now :-)

I do not think so :-)

It's been like that since Patch 5 but the issue right now is that not all mods are working properly. especially the skyhold outfit replacers.

Can't say it won't but if they do have patches , it won't take them 4 months to put them out to a playable state.

Unlike another company we know :-)

Bet you that DLC is not free :-)

And still no Black Emporium:-)

Oh well thanks to the Beta testers, who made DAI maybe possible to play now with a bit more features :-)

Well,  I already told you much earlier in the thread that Black emporium will be attached to a DLC and will cost $.  :)

Patch 6  addressed some issues but there's still a lot that needs to be looked at imo.

It's possible CD Projekt Red will revisit the Witcher world but they have publicly stated that Witcher 3 will close the story on Geralt.  I think they are focusing on the Cyberpunk 2077 game next.

GTA V on PC! :)

Despite Rockstar being a real ass towards pc players I'm still looking forward to it. It actually sits in my Steam library already, I purchased it months ago. Out of spite towards Rockstars public relations strategy that seems to be centered around the mythical question "how can we annoy you today?" I got an international (ROW) version from a chinese dude for half the standard price.

Unfortunately a few weeks ago Valve introduced new rules for cross border trading and this was the end of the cheap games for good. Well I never overused it, but I got my share aslong as it lasted. TBH always getting a 50% discount felt a bit...cheap. I'm talking about the morale. ;)

Of course, Valve believes - as any publisher - that higher prices mean more sales. Pretty stupid assessment, as neither the total amount of money that I can spend nor my general budget for games will rise, so I just get less games for the money. It makes a difference for the individual publishers I get the games from, but it doesn't make a difference for Valve. I will spend the yearly amount of money that I can afford on Steam, not more, not less.

Steam has awesome sales though, you've got to give them that. They're quite evil with that 75 and 85% off business lol! My library is swelling rapidly as a result. :)

It kind of irks me, since I am opposed to having to sign into a client to play something I supposedly own outright...but apparently my convictions can be bought- for a minimum 75% discount lol!
