It's a fairly substantial game. 20 gig download apparently. I got it for the Ms.
Yeah, probably a good idea to wait.
p.s. On a side note, I finally got on twitter.. What a culture shock.. I'm too analog for this digital age.
Its a liberal playground.. Hell! Nothing but kids shouting what is, and what should be, by their standards, and ideaology.
I may be gone for a time.. Im having it out with Verizo.. AGain.. Such theives! Sign a contract, only to have them change it every 2-3 months.. Removing services/channels, lowering internet speed, significant cost icreases ontop of those things.. Its unreal.. I have to pay several hundred dollars to back out of my contract, but they can change it whenever they want?!? As far as im concerned, they void the contract, when they made changes to it.. So, im just not paying them, until its cut off.. I dont have credit, i already own my home, and i dont by 'new' cars.. So i dont give a #$@%$#$%#@$#%...
Thx for letting me have a place to vent.. I dont do fb, or any of that kiddie crap!

oddly enough, I've run into a lot of very polite and interesting folks on there.. Quite a difference between that and the bottom feeders that live on facebook and starting to pollute G+ as well. One of the many reasons I left social media months ago.

The actual download size on Steam is 6.1 GB, it decompresses to around 20 GB.
Wasteland 2, Pillars of Eternity, both on GOG... and soon - TW3!!! I wish all games are on GOG.
Still have to finish WL2 before POE however, loving it! My tactical RPG fix is going to very satiated by the end of POE.
Btw guys, looks like DAI is going to be uninstalled, it's too many gigs and I won't be playing it until late 2015/early 2016 when it may get fixed for PC. Sad really, was my most anticipated game last year.
Ok, I've been tinkering around on the look of our new forum. Let me know what you think.

Ok, that makes sense.

They don't offer the no contract deal around your parts? That's what I did when I had them and it ended up being a better deal too. I had 50/25
People on twitter are brain washed Bioware zombies.
And the reason why things move so slowly around here and there is no response to any concern on the official forums is due to all of the leads hanging out on twitter all day talking about how they take good care of the PC players.
I see that the typical bicker is in full voice on the forums concerning what the DLC is and what it isn't.

What it isn't is anything I'll pay for before they fix the game ...

They do.. Im 6 months in, on a 2year contract.. Yet theyve still changed, lessened, increased cost, etc this 2 or 3 times already.. Its Void in my eyes! Verizon is a terrible scam company.. This is the 3rd time ive had them, and all 3 times, theyve just started tacking on $20 here, $40 there, without justification, or consent! They even took the bill from when i was 20(4yrs after having moved out of my parents) and stuck it to my mothers bill, who has been with Verizon(before they were Verizon) since the late 70's.. Was a 300$ balance, and theyve somehow come up with the figure, of $3500.00 for that, over 10-12yrs.. Because i had, at one time, lived at her address, it was somehow her problem.. Even though i claimed responsibility for it, they cared not.. (Obviously, i wasnt going to pay $3500 for a $300 bill, so, after more than 30yrs, my mother dropped their service.. They only said "bye".. To a long standing customer..The way the just add money on, is illegal, or should be.. I sign a contract for $120/mo, and every other month, im finding it $20-$40 more expensive.. The point my bill hits well over $200/mo, i cant stand it anymore.. Comcast, may have shitty people in their customer service dept, who constantly f up your service when called for help, but atleast they never stole from me!
PS: my statement about Twitter was not confined to Bioware Twitter feed.. It was Twitter as a whole!
Cats and bitter apple..I do not know, our cats are only outside ones, as my husband is allergic to cats. The bitter apple does work on dogs, does not damage leather and is sold at pet stores. But test a portion of the foot wear first. But if its some discoloration or chewed up shoes...make a choice of the lesser evil. Can also buy a cheap used pair of leather shoes at a thrift store for puppy training. coat them with the bitter apple and leave them out. have a squirt gun with a few drops of vinegar ready, wait till puppy grabs the shoes, then squrt them when they are making icky face from the bitter apple and say"nein" or no in whatever your language is.
Hi all,
Stumbled across your Group while combing the BioWare forums for a glimmer of hope in these sad times. I read through the first 14-15 pages of this introductions thread, wanted to get to know everyone before joining up, but I'm a very slow reader, so I'm saying Hi now, then I'll go back and read the rest slowly but surely. I figure I've got some time, while I'm waiting for the PoE price to drop a bit, and for Sword Coast Legends to be released.
Very, very stoked to see some old-timey PnP folk here – yeah, that's where I got my start, too – AD&D ... good times. Played in elementary school and junior high, but fellow players lost interest, moved away, etc., and I figured it was gone forever. Never was introduced to the early PCs, but we had Atari 2600, and all paper route money went to either minis, or going down to the arcade for some Asteroids, or Space Invaders, or Battlezone, etc., etc. We got an IBM DOS system, and I fell in love with Zork and the like, then moved on to the awesome new graphical RPGs (Temple of Apshai, I think? All I remember is "Prithee and well met" and some very crude graphics). I tried making a text-based game in Basic, but it proved a little much for a tween with no programming training other than the DOS manuals.
Years later (early 90’s) a friend got a Mac, and we would play Prince of Persia, Spectre, Hellcats, Lemmings, Pathways into Darkness (1st-person shooter), etc., and of course the game that changed my life: Civilization.
Later years brought Warcraft 1 & 2, xpilot, and more Civilization. But I totally lost track of gaming until 2008 when a friend turned me on to NWN. Wow. I almost couldn’t believe it: you could play D&D without having to find enough friends to play and synch up schedules and whatnot. Needless to say, I fell in love with the genre and sank a lotttt of hours into all of those games.
DA:O was the natural progression, and it blew my mind. On a whim I tried ME2, since I had read that it was a squad-based tactical RPG. Despite it being a semi-shooter, which I was unaccustomed to, I fell in love with that, too, due to the tactical combat, story, graphics, etc., that had drawn me in to DA:O. DA2 took a little getting used to, but I liked the story and the characters, and I came to prefer the combat mechanics actually, because I got accustomed to being able to make my characters step away from attackers (I always micromanage all my party members – no AI). Loved ME3, both SP and MP – played massive amounts of both.
Then … this. I got most of the way through the intro in DA:I, but the controls are driving me crazy. And since combat is one of the main motivators for me in a cRPG, I just cannot go on.
As for me, mid-40’s dude, software dev in Los Angeles, wife and two boys, huge soccer and baseball fan, into sailing, backpacking, travel. [Edit:] Massive fan of music – all types.
I’m really enjoying the different experiences and perspectives that everyone here brings to the table, especially getting to know all the various offerings in the cRPG genre. Keep it coming!
One thought: I have no idea the logistics of this, but is there some way to add the group member bios into some kind of Rogue's Gallery thread? Maybe would make it easier for new folks to get to know the group. If not, no big. We'll just catch up when we can.

Play KotoR. It is, and will always be in my opinion, the best BW have ever made.

Sounds like Star Trek II: "You are...and will always be...the best BW have ever made...Jim." ![]()
BTW: News PSU and graphic card installed yesterday. Took me a solid hour and a half, I try to really use the case, put cables behind the mainboard tray and so on.
I was plugin in all the stuff and switched it on and...it stopped right before the BIOS logo. CMOS reset, the same. Several retrys, the same. After a short burst of panic, thinking I screwed something up, I realized it's the new graphic card. I removed it and useed the IGP of the CPU and the pc started perfectly fine. At least a relief knowing that the PSU is fine and I did all the cables and connection right. ^^
I went on to google and found several very similar cases. Turns out my BIOS was too old. I mean I knew it was old - from mid 2012 xD - but you know what they say: Never touch a running system. And since it was running fine I never came around to actually upgrade the BIOS.
Long story short: I did the update, built in the new card again, switched it on and it worked. ![]()
Most games have more than double their average framerate now (Shadow of Mordor from 45 fps to 100 with slightly higher settings even; Alien Isolation from 49 fps to 119 fps), only ATTILA turns out to be the hardware destroyer it is renowned for. Average fps up from 37 to 45. Wow.
With slightly raised settings. This game is poorly optimized.
