@Sylveria_Reiden You should give the books a read. They are quite good.

So I have finished my Alani campaign on ATW, and ready to be a witcher again...
Problem, 24 GBs!!! And Australian ISPs... I am currently downloading at a mere 250KBPS, which means, it may take up to a week or more if the ISP decides to give me crap. Started this morning, 450MBs so far... a long way to go. Should have got the game on retail... but then again retail version probably uses the steam client which I'm not interested in.
Should have started downloading ages ago

@Jackal1985111 Retail copy uses GOG Galaxy. Completely DRM free and not attached to client like Steam. When the game is uncompressed, it's around 56 gb in size total.
PS World is humongous and that is not an exaggeration. Game looks gorgeous even at all low settings. I haven't really cared about the eyecandy since the stories have been engrossing.

Well it's too late now it seems to get a retail copy, unless GOG will give me a refund, but considering support has their hands full I doubt it... currently downloaded 1 out of 22 GBs... will have to play something else for a week and leave the PC running while it downloads in the background. 56 GBS?! Well, looks like it's time to move files over to my flash drives too...
It'd better be worth it! Oh well, might as well go for a Sassanid playthrough in ATW or something...

@Jackal1985111 it's definitely worth the wait. Have a great caturday! I'm sitting here drinking canadian whiskey and watching old episodes of Supernatural.

2.66 GBs... maybe it won't take as long as I thought. Heck, since GOG downloader doesn't have an ETA, I looked up this online download time calculator, which predicted a week with 256KBPS... but yet, by calculating manually...
0.256x60 = 15.36 MB a minute
15.36x60 = 921.6 MB an hour
921.6x24 = 22118.4 MB a day
So either I've made an error or these download calculators are messed up
EDIT: 2.84 GBs now
EDIT2: 3.56 GBs... alright, download calculators ARE messed up
EDIT3: 20.52 GBs NOW!

DRM = focus on greed and attempting to maximise profits by accusing everyone of thievery and inconveniencing legitimate customers
No-DRM = focus on customer service and attempting to maximise profits by delivering a quality product to their legitimate customers
Glad for TW3's success, it has made a statement and shamed everyone in the whole DRM train!

If you all decide to try my MMO, Fallen Earth, send me an in game note to my avatar Mutare Nebula. I run the oldest clan in the game and can help you out. It is almost 6 years old now, so it is a dated game. I Don't have a lot of gaming time but I Still run raids and PVE events every Thursday evening at 7pm EST. Yes I am blatantly advertising my favorite MMO. But I doubt I ill log into here much more and I have enjoyed the conversations with you all. Just popping my head in, TW3 installed and running on patch 1.04. Impressions are very positive.
Game makes a strong introduction, no cringe-worthy dialogue (like in DAI), animations are top notch, so much detail in the character models too and the world! Voice acting is great and dialogue very immersive.
And what's this about the controls? I had no problems with it, or is it because it's 1.04?

prior to 1.04 certain controls were not rebindable mostly because the key bound to them had a double function for another control however they fixed that in 1.04 less than a week after release.
But yeah overall way better than DAI and they actually patch things people have issues with and do it fast unlike Bioware who patches a bunch of nonsense nobody cares about and makes us wait 4 months for said patch only to find it doesn't fix what they say it fixed and breaks a whole bunch of stuff that wasn't broken before.
At least CDPR gives us 16 pieces of DLC for free that are not MP focused and 2 expansions for a very reasonable £20 compared to Bioware's extortionate £15 for JOH alone.and best of all no stupid DRM/Bloatware.In every aspect CDPR is making Bioware look like a bunch of talentless amateur's when it comes to making a PC Game.

I guess everyone who was on here is playing TW3 because it's been really quiet around here.
I got sucked into the ME3MP vortex. I was trying to kill some time with a game I already own, while they figured out how to fix the DAI controls. Must. max. manifest. Cannot. escape.

Yeah, it's definitely TW3 keeping me busy right now. That and work. Sleep, eat, work, play. Nothing else there lol. ![]()
Not using the Steam version so I'd have to guess, but it feels like I've already spend more time with the game than I did with GTA V (92 hours with this one
), or at least close to that...but I'm not nearly at 50%. Still in the first big area (there are two), early in the story, too and this area of the game still has plenty of sidequests, treasure hunts and what not to offer.
This game is insanely big and the quality of the content is mindblowingly good. Can't fathom how they did it in the amount of time they had...

Heck TW3 has got me hooked, had to pull myself away just to come on here and tell everyone how awesome it is! But I guess everyone already knew that. Just finished all the side quests in White Orchard (for now I'm guessing), going to explore a little more before I take on the, you know
... Upgraded my armor, didn't find any schematics for new swords yet, or xbow. Playing it on 2nd hardest difficulty, got my butt handed to me a few times. Can't live without the Quen sign!
As for the controls, I have no problems with it, straight off the bat, and no rebinding needed in fact, except for switching mouse Y-axis to inverted and increased its sensitivity. I have no idea what that one reviewer was on about in regards to Lalt being dodge and Space for jump, I'm having no problems with it and I'm dodging/jumping in the midst of combat intuitively. Also on horseback. So far, all the controls are intuitive as well as immersive, for me at least. I wouldn't call it a console port. Also, loading screens are so fast! Actually... what loading screens? I can't even remember if there even was one, just lost myself in the world. So far the side quests I've done are excellent, the dialogue is also immersive and mature. Got caught for stealing at the Nilfgaardian garrison too, darn it, looks like they took some hints from D:OS lol. Even the card game is awesome!
Anyway back to TW3, if I disappear, you guys know what I'm up to lol
Oh! And long live Temeria, RIP Foltest! Still remember that siege tower scene in TW2, "Where the hell are we headed?" "To BATTLE!" "What the fk do we want?" "VICTORY!" haha

Haha Jackal, you have a serious problem on your hand, trust me. Thing is...White Orchard? Yeah it's already great, but Velen is SO much better. Almost incomparable.
Well, at least we're in the same boat. I already got told that the third area of the game shall be even better than Velen which is hard to believe...so I guess we're both in for a pleasant surprise. You for two surprises, I got one left. ![]()
But even now I can say with all certainty that this is GOTY 2015. While GTA V would probably deserve it, too, TW3 came as a bit of a surprise. In previews (and because it was a bit clouded by all this talk about a downgrade) the game did not reveal itself to be such a deeply genuine piece of art, while GTA V was already known as the "prodigy" of the gaming world, just being made better for the PC.
Of course I anticipated (with a bit of fanboy-ism involved) TW3 to be even better than TW2 which was great already. But I'm still surprised as how much better. It's one of the best games I played, ever.

There is a Church/Chappel near one of those "Place of Power" stones if its the wright one a spectre appears once you knock down half its health its go to the church basement follow it there and defeat it you'll find a chest which will start a scavenger quest for the Witcher gear Schematics from the Cat School which comprises of a full armour Set,Steel and silver swords and a crossbow. all makes for a pretty decent light armor set.

Skellige is pretty Epic lots of Harpies and other winged Hybrids (EDIT Sirens(Think of a Mermaid with Wings) Are the other Hybrid ) will attack you out at sea when you use the sail boats so make sure your packing a crossbow to stop them tearing your boat apart

That griffin fight was freakin hard! I drank/ate all the apple juice, raw meat and water in my inventory, and killed it with 5% vitality left. Died a dozen times I think, until I understood its movements, weaknesses, and switched to Aard rather than Quen.
What a twist really too, after all the cutscenes in TW2 I thought I would be saving a damsel in distress btw! Audience with the emperor was freakin hilarious too!!!!

Nothing wrong with advertising your guild here. We talk about all PC games here, not just Booware games.
I've actually been taking a look at Fallen Earth for a while now, but I'm a little gun-shy of F2P games these days. I love the post-apoc settings (Fallout, etc.) but after what I've seen of games like War-Z and others that have had half-baked launches and bugs-a-plenty I prefer to wait, watch and see how it develops before I move in. (yes, I'm the sneaky-stealthy-sniper type, not the rush-in-the-door-guns-blazing type)

Always keep in mind: Those witcher-contracts always start with researching a monster and it will end up with an entry in your bestiary. You can find it by pressing "Enter" and then at the "Glossary".
Weaknesses and vulnaribilities are noted there. You would've found that the Griffin is vulnerable to "Aard" right there. ;

Argh, even the little she-devil reads her beastiary... haha
Will make note of it, actually think I'll read through the beastiary again since I manage to get my butt kicked several times against some common enemies. I end up having to go around hunting and finding food, but I don't mind it cause the world is so pretty heh - I'm playing on 2nd hardest difficulty, no regen. Thought I would own after like 1000+ (perhaps more like 2 or 3 thousand) hrs in Mount and Blade/Warband with fast reaction times, thought wrong!
Speaking of which, does DAI have mouse button rebinding yet? Darn it "Bioware", RMB = parry, that's standard for swordplay games because of how fat the button is and how your finger is always on it grrr...

Lol yeah I also like the shaving scene, I actually felt genuine fear when the chamberlain was like "This is not the time" and the general said something like "I can't think of a better time, men tend to be more truthful with a blade at their throat", that's just great writing right there.
Apparently your beard grows as you play too, is that true? Sheez, the smallest details!
I'm having some trouble with money actually now though, I need some 10 STR cards to play Gwent with, I only have 4-8 STR cards. The card game actually demands strategy, and as a TW player I love it lol - and as a Temerian patriot go Foltest! Annoying I can only wager 10 crowns a game though... bah!

There are several mods available on the nexus site for TW3 including one that enables the dev console so you could give yourself gold or use Cheatengine but that a personal thing :-)
I can confirm your beard does grow over time, I did power through the main story on normal difficulty (12hr stints over numerous days oh my eyes !) that being said I'm doing a 2nd playthrough on deathmarch difficulty now at a much slower place was pleasantly surprised to meet Ves and Roache again and help them out making my way towards a masion in southeast Velen to recruit Letho as this time I picked that in TW2 I let him live rather than kill him.
