No better in my industry, everyone wants reviews and "honest" customer feedback before they pay for anything any more. Yeah I'm guilty of that to a degree but, not so much with games.

I Alpha test one and Beta for two others so, a few bugs are not a big deal. I don't go screaming game breaker unless it really is a game breaker. (Like entire bodies of character's disappearing because some bit of coding is off - I HATE floating head syndrome with a passion.)

As for my ISP, great connection speed is great 12MB/sec on average DL but the latency is horrid and, unavoidable with satellite. We might see 500ms someday but they can't break the laws of physics and, we are stuck at light speed MAX. What I hate is the small bandwidth allowance for the price I pay but, it's that or nothing. I also have to use VOIP, satellite radio and TV or I'd have no phone, radio or TV. No such thing as wires that actually work for those things out here. We do have aluminum phone lines for landline phones but, the whole mess is so old and not well maintained. It rains, you loose phone for a week with that. At least if it rains now, I only loose it (and internet) during the heaviest part of a big storm, light rain doesn't affect it. None of the 5 homes out here have a landline phone - two others besides me have cell that can only text out here if you walk outside and find a tine spot to get one bar of service. I'm the only one on this back road with internet.

Not to be too nosy but, are you my neighbor? Sounds like where I live ... 30 min south of Houston TX.

I don't have any warning posts, but there is a possibility that I may get booted from the forums. If that occurs, I appreciate this group wholeheartedly and hope that we'll be reunited somewhere else. The negative stuff that's appearing on the forums is starting to get the attention of the media. Three months and they are late to the party, but it makes for a slow news day, I guess. Anyway, stay salty, but not bitter.

Lol when patch 2 came out, it made front page news at IGN for all the bugs it had.

I have no warning points either, don't think they'll boot you mate. Besides all we offered has been honest criticism. As for the media its about time. Seriously it's too many lies and they shouldn't get away with it. If they do though, whatever, I'm happy as long as they don't get my money.

If they do start to ban legitimate customers and close the Master thread, I shall seriously consider suing them. That's it.

Already tried to calm down two people by PM, in Australia and the US I think, who are suing them in their countries/states.

Best way is just a boycott for me, win/win, I get to avoid all this typical EA BS and they don't have to deal with fans who actually care about the franchises. Speaking of which, a friend of mine interstate msged me on FB about DAI on his Xbox1, he returned it, no complaints, not even a fan, just said it wasn't for him.

I didn't even have a chance to talk to him about the game!

He's a big console gamer, and obviously EA's target market. So hey, I wish EA all the best of luck with their future.

Remember when fans stood up for Bioware when Fox News ripped into Mass Effect - calling it a sex simulator? Giving that clueless ****** 0/5 ratings on Amazon on her book? That's how passionate the fanbase was, now we're being sh-t on and treated as whiners and idiots.

I'm insomniac tonight so I decided to try the multiplayer for something different. 8 out of 10 sessions was "connection to server was lost" and the one I manage to connect with 3 other people, the game simply sat and went into a infinite loading screen. And the final session was me trying to play the multiplayer by myself and then being disconnected again in middle of combat.  WOW.

Haven't even tried it, doubt I would get anywhere with EA servers playing from Australia anyway.

K, i never understood the need to walk anyway, its a gimmick for the rp'rs and i never had any trouble with the puzzles. Guess useless crap takes priority over real pc fixes. Only real issue i had with walking was in cut scenes on Female IQ's being that they walk like they have a serious case of piles, and hunch over like an Orangutan.

After 5 hrs of that i re built to a dwarf, couldn't handle it anymore.

So you don't understand the need for a walk function, but you start a new character because of how cutscenes are animated. Riiiiiiight...... ;)

Telstra or Optus? ;)

Actually my 'net's pretty good (Optus). Tends to have the occasional dropout at midnightish (they seem to reset then) or during storm season (that's not their fault--Brissy storms are pretty electricky, especially this year).

And now I have to ask where (obviously not specifically) you are? :D

Still amazed that Aussies tend to get their interwebz from a giant cable floating at the bottom of the ocean amongst all the sea monsters, though ;)

I don't want to think about how many health potions I've used on some of those puzzles, simply because I couldn't move accurately, mostly because the spaces were too narrow for running to be of any use.

The sea monsters leave the cable alone because they respect the interwebz, yo!

Have you encountered that chest in the Emerald Graves? Not only do you have to run across the beam or fall to your death. But your companions follow you on the beam, and block you on your way back

Just got this from someone I invited to join this evening:

" I logged in tonight and found your invitation, TY for that, but it seems the topic is closed and I can not post anything.  My gaming email is (redacted) or my gaming guild website is (redacted)

Please send me any info or invites to those as I believe the Bioware Big Brothers are targeting and shutting down specific topic and people."

Anyone have any idea what's going on?

(edit: redactions are mine)

He probably missed the "join group" button as I did first. When you don't join, you cannot post here and thus the topic seems locked. :D

What? Who is "she" and where did she say customers were not important and are you sure "she" works for EA?
Keep in mind he's concerned from just the Multiplayer side of the game, but it's the Bioware response on social media by employees that makes gamers like us concerned. Here is BWEAmelia's response as of yesterday:

In Topic: Video addressing Bioware community feedback and employees, glitches, bugs and...
Some very sneaky editing to make my posts fit your viewpoint! As always, context is key, and there's a lot of context missing around the things you've posted ( I recommend following @AndrastesTits on Twitter, by the way, she's hilarious ).

Honestly, this video is solid evidence that these forums don't really want dev interaction or communication. When I joined the forum it was because I saw cries for these very things, and I thought I would help. What I quickly realized, however, is that whenever someone sticks their neck out in the forum there are a thousand swords to fall on it regardless of the content of the post. There is this very confusing cognitive dissonance where it seems this community wants interaction and communication, but pushes back fiercely when they actually receive it. A number of users on the BSN turn this space into a hostile, inhospitable environment, and asking why the developers don't interact is strange - the answer is well known. I will say - There are a number of wonderful, helpful community members in these forums whom I really appreciate. Its unfortunate that the people who are behaving poorly get so much attention.

I'm honestly disappointed things went this way, with you especially Penguin. You so quickly turned from a hero into a villain. I'm sorry that you didn't get what you wanted from me. I'm happy that you're taking what seems like a much needed break. Its going to be a good year for MP, there's a lot of awesome stuff coming down the pipe, and if you decide to check in in a few months I know you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Be Excellent to Eachother

Thanks,
Amelia

All I'm hearing is anger and authority to speak for Bioware as a whole. The forums can be overrun by bad posters, but punishing everyone isn't the answer. PR has the answer or maybe I've got it wrong as well. I feel a ban coming.

Basically she is saying EA released a title that won't be ready in a few months. She is also saying that they can't take criticism. She is also saying that taking a break from the game and not playing into EA's cashgrab multiplayer is a great idea. That's ninja psychology. I admit, I am flabbergasted. And concerned.

Same but I don't care. This is very enlightening to the current situation, disconnect between the fanbase and the devs,  and it has to be spread.

If there's a ban, it has to be for a bannable offense. They don't (and can't legally) just hand out bans willy-nilly because they get a little butt-hurt over things people say in the forums. Think about it, seriously.

The only ones who ever need "worry" about a ban are those who actually inflict it upon themselves. That's why the forum rules exist.

Perhaps, I just find this whole situation rather interesting now.

Is this the new generation that universities are churning out these days? Seriously companies should stop hiring employees for PR who simply do not understand PR. Or at least hiring folks with common sense. Either that or education needs to be stricter, and include more in their curriculum. This is horrendous social media management, and this is 2015.

No wonder we don't have hoverboards yet.

Indeed. These press-releases sometimes, or official statements...in most situations it would've been better to say nothing. Instead they make something up that is rediculous and expect us to believe it. In these cases I often don't know whether to feel offended or terribly amused.

I remember growing up in New York and listening to a descendent or spokesperson for the Mohawk Native Americans say, "Sometimes it is better to stay quiet and have other assume you a fool. It is worse, to prove it."

I, myself, Uncle Dave, need to follow that sage advice.

Freddie Wong is the best. This is his channel and I remember seeing his very first video. Been subscribed to the channel ever since. I'd suggest watching all the videos there, you will have a blast. :D

Here, this is a perfect example of what to expect:
