The engine's a real beast, looks fantastic with smooth frame rates and no memory leaks. I've played for hours on end and no slowdowns. Game just oozes quality in every aspect!

"Warning! Uninstalling Origin could cause some of your EA games to stop working! Do you wish to continue?"

YES! Absolutely YES, YES, YES!!!

Finally uninstalled "Inquisition" and "Origin" ... and it felt GOOD.

Note to mods: I still have DA:O installed.

I have Steam.

I have GOG.

Origin will never again infect any computer I own.

It is malware.

INCREDIBLE experience, finally finished the game, even though I did rush it towards the end - not going to spoil, but it definitely left me happy and dazed, that great feeling you get when you just finished an epic story. Going to go for my completionist run next round.

<SPOILER>

Who else went with Yennifer? I was quite surprised she grew on me... at first I thought I made a bad decision by dumping Triss, heartwrenching scene at the docks, and then to see how much of a b-tch Yen was in several quests... only to see her good sides later on. Not to mention she's stunning!

Now to go with Triss next round, and swap my decisions around, made several bad ones in my 1st playthrough

</SPOILER>

@Jackal1985111  I didn't realize it was a choice til it was too late so I went with Yen also.  The game is so chock full of choices and decisions. It's definitely worthwhile going through more then one. I'm not even close to finishing first playthrough.  I'm still in Velen.  :)

You haven't gone to Skellige yet with Yen? If not... well you're in for it lol - you two aren't "official" until Skellige

<light spoiler>

First playthrough was really tough deciding, at first I hated Yen, but went with her anyway - for Ciri, thought to myself, would be a happy foster family... kept thinking of my perceived "mistake" of dumping Triss all the while, and hated Yen even more in Skellige, the things she does there (you'll see), but then... she started warming up, and one scene that I found so moving between Yen and Gerald (its not a romance scene), and later the ending, just wrapped up the story so brilliantly.

Have to admit though there are moments between Yen and Gerald that just made me lose myself laughing too at their dynamics, especially if you try to play a kind-hearted Gerald vs ice-queen-who-gets-her-way

Lua scripting isn't so hard.  It's very much like javascript which I'm fairly familiar with.  The first game map I built looked great but a bit too massive in size.  lol   I'll have to scale down the maps and link them together with waypoints.

The frame rates take a huge hit on the Game Guru engine. I'll also have to be creative with the assets that are available right now.

Game development is certainly challenging but also quite fun.. I've put in 3 14 hour days into so far and I've made good progress on learning the engine. I may have a stalker type game going sooner then later.  It's trying to get the atmosphere right that's tough.

Anyone here care to do some early alpha testing once I have the meat of it ready?

PS I'm gonna start tinkering with Unity 5 also.

I'm heavily occupied with Witcher 3 lol

Oh, wolf school gear coming out this week, fully upgradeable like the other sets. Don't know what it's going to look like yet though... can't find screenshots! If it looks sweet going to switch from my cat gear, otherwise going to use it for my 3rd run. Also making Triss even hotter, good thing I chose her this round! Ha!

I avoided screenshots of the witcher gear, I like the surprise. Yet to find a single piece of bear armor for instance. ^^ And I too look forward to the wolf gear.

I currently like the Feline armor more, though I did a bit of roleplaying with the armors. Feline, being without cover for the arms in it's first stage, felt a bit cold to wear in Skellige. So before I got there I crafted the second version of the Griffin armor which, though not as good looking imho, felt much more fitting for the climate. :D

Currently wear Feline again though, second stage, where it sports some well needed arm protection...yeah, I guess even witchers do feel the cold. ^^

Currently sporting the Superior Griffen armor and weapon set.

Can't wear the Master Crafted yet.

Still need to get the rest of the Feline and Ursine maps/schematics.

Looking forward to the Wolf set.

Wonder why Geralt didn't have (easier) access to it from the beginning as he is from the Wolf School.

Better be somethin' good ...

Lol...only yesterday evening I finally realised that the "Ursine" is actually the Bear-set. I thought there was just another, fourth (not counting the dlc) kind of witcher gear armor not tied to scavenger hunt quests...wrong. :D

Guess he was on the road for a long, long time. Switching armors during two Witcher games. Roleplaying-game-mechanics dictate that you get better and better gear. ;)

Doubt it. First thing after he awoke was his return to Kear Morhen where he was kinda reminded what his name was, his profession and his school of Witchers. :D

But then those idiots...THEY forgot to give him a good piece of armor for his adventures lol.

Game progress update: Learned limitations of Game Guru.  It's still in early stages, and a lot is getting added later. Even though it is a FPS engine,  it's assets for a worthwhile shooter is still missing so I've decided to use the world I've built so far and turn it into open world adventure/mystery type game. It'll have some action but more focused on discovery and exploration. The level builder is robust so it can create some interesting environments.

PPS  I ran Witcher 3 on the APU desktop which now belongs to the gf.  It runs fluid at 1366x768 with settings on medium.  RED engine 3 is something to behold.  It really does scale well and it even renders hair without it being shiny.  lol

Hell the soundtrack in TW3 is so intense and I finally found a favorite that I couldn't find in the OST:

Hell can't believe this was left out in the official soundtrack! One of the best battle tracks ever - especially when the drums start, it gets me so pumped up it's normally my que to charge (and getting myself killed if I didn't put on Quen!)

Also this:

Caranthir is a real bad ass!

does anyone hold any hope for ME:A? I guess technically I can hope, though I wouldn't hold my breath. think i'll wait till it's in the cheap **** bin. and only if it looks like it's worth the price.

@Invisible Man I just don't see ME:A  turning out well. I just get this feeling that it will have all the technical issues that BF4 and Dragon Age Inquisition had.

Nah, my faith in "Bioware" left with the doctors. They no longer care about fan/dev communication or post-release support and that's enough to hold off the game until it's on sale and after a good year.

They've lost all their competitive advantages for me personally.

Hell I didn't even know ME4 is named ME:A, no longer looking up anything connected to EA or Bioware after experiencing such poor customer service.

I still haven't tried ME3.

Is it tied to Origin?

If no, I might give it a try.

If yes ... never.

<- Newcomer.

Hi all. I'm not very good at introducing myself, but i've been a BioWare fan since Mass Effect came out for PC in 2008. :)

@Kadust  Welcome to the group!  I think most of us have been fans for a long time. It's very disappointing to see them fall so hard.

I don't think they have fallen yet, so that is very individual. :)

I just finished my first ever ME1-3 playthrough and I have to say that it was most certainly worth it. With a modded ending (and using the Citadel party as an epilogue) it's a great satisfying journey.

OTOH, I have no hope in a ME4 (or whatever they call it). Mass Effect is the story of Commander Shepard and that story is over. Sometimes, stories end and you have to move on. At the end of the ME story you have (hopefully) prevented a galactic apocalypse. What story is there left to tell that would feel meaningful next to that?
