I don't think they have fallen yet, so that is very individual. :)

Just a personal opinion of course. :)  But after the lackluster effort that was Dragon Age Inquisition, I'm not overly excited about their future projects.  The art was fine except the overuse of wet effects on everything. The thing that most irritated me was lack of tactical combat. I was hoping for more tactics or pause/play instead of real time.

I just finished my first ever ME1-3 playthrough and I have to say that it was most certainly worth it. With a modded ending (and using the Citadel party as an epilogue) it's a great satisfying journey.

OTOH, I have no hope in a ME4 (or whatever they call it). Mass Effect is the story of Commander Shepard and that story is over. Sometimes, stories end and you have to move on. At the end of the ME story you have (hopefully) prevented a galactic apocalypse. What story is there left to tell that would feel meaningful next to that?

Personally, I really enjoyed the first Mass Effect. I played that probably around 10 times vs ME2 which I played twice, and then ME3 just once.

PS  Don't get me wrong, there were parts in ME3 I found enjoyable but the sense of exploration and discovery just wasn't really there for me.

Welcome Kadust! I was once a fan since BG - so makes me abit of an old timer :)

@Peregrinus/DragonsDream

I'm not feeling the hype at all for ME4, I just read a few articles on it, they said they are inspired by DAI's world design, so it's quite worrying if they adopt its fetch quest design too.

Regardless even if ME4 turns out to be fun with a good story, I'll still be wary of buying anything from EAware due to its shocking post-release support ever since either the doctors left or switching to the Frostbite 3 engine. Either way can only expect decent patches 1 year later and chances are it'll be a console port experience all over again.

I can't justify spending money on them like this, but just my perspective.

Speaking of which I don't know if DAI's problems have been patched sufficiently yet, how is it for those who still have the game installed?

Errr btw guys... WTF?! I found Chris Presley! Guess where he is?

http://forums.cdproj...did-that-happen

"I can and will say that I was not fired from BioWare. I was laid off at BioWare due to the change in the Dragon Age: Inquisition release date. It wasn't anything other than a money/headcount thing. I still have great friends at BioWare and visit the studio when time permits ( if you follow me on Twitter @TheEvilChris you'd know I was winning a poker game there this past weekend)."

- Chris on page 2

So there's where he went - to CDPR after being laid off by EA

I read some of the comments there, it seems TW fans are worried he may bring the "Bioware" forum culture in with him. I knew him from DAO days (and the old BSN), he did quite a fair job those days if I remember (WAY better than what we are experiencing here).

He talks a bit about his role on the last page of that thread. That said though...this is quite an older story and I too did not notice him getting employed by CDPR. Surprise, surprise. ^^

Oh yeah it's a surprise alright! CDPR is taking over high profile devs, and they're not even being aggressive about it - EA laid him off and CDPR adopted him

Have to admit, his post explains alot when it comes to what we experienced post-launch with DAI

@KilrB  It's tied to Origin.  You really aren't missing much though.

Disagree. I think I played FemShep through all the class types and different story paths. Loved it. The best thing about it: the controls were exactly the same as ME2. The ending was a bit of a stretch, I'll readily admit, but all the aspects we know and love from the ME series are there: character development, tactical battles, voice acting, humor, etc. Still playing multi-player regularly.

I still haven't tried ME3.

Is it tied to Origin?

If no, I might give it a try.

If yes ... never.

A bottom line I can respect... though one I can't seem to hold to myself.

Hi all. I'm not very good at introducing myself, but i've been a BioWare fan since Mass Effect came out for PC in 2008. :)

I haven't finished DA:I yet, been busy writing my thesis since DA:I first got out. Just recently have had the time to play anything, but i am 1/5 in now i think so we'll see. Though, i have this awesome ability of not having any expectations, so i am rarely disappointed. :)

What problems? I have the game installed and currently playing through it - haven't met any issues yet.

I'm doing an rp run of morrowind, oblivion, and skyrim... basically, playing the same character in all three. I'm about 1/4 the way through morrowind, I'd be further along if it wasn't for all the crashes. *sigh*

---edit
I just love being a nightblade, they're like ninja wizards... you can't beat that combo, not even with nuclear weapons. *sigh* er, ok... nukes might just manage that.

So. I've uninstalled Origin, am having a blast juggling ED and TW3 (cheers KilrB!) and on a whim drop into this forum for the first time in aeons only to discover that the Nexus mods have fixed the male elf bodies...

I don't know whether to cheer or cry lol! We all know where this is going though, don't we?

*sigh*

@LunaFancy   Nice to see you!   How are you enjoying TW3?   Are you going to reinstall  DAI now to see the elf bodies? :)

eck! That DAI custom body mod has limited use. The mesh settings have to be on Ultra for it to show.. can't do that on my side, PC is too weak but still awesome that someone has figured out how to change the meshes. :)

Hey guys just thought I'd check in havent played much as my R9 290's finally gave up the ghost will be replacing it with a 980Ti in August.was playing The Witcher 3 and its certainly much more of a "PC Game" than DAI don't have much hope for this last piece of story DLC I have been hearing about but will probably pick it up so I can finish at least 1 character fully.

In TW3 I just arrived in

Spoiler
and it's just...wow. It's like visiting a "real" place I've been to years ago, in The Witcher (first game), but brought to life in all the glory of the new engine. The design of this game gets better and better with every new area unlocked. I'm in awe.

Best game of the decade. Problem is...what comes after it? Better quit gaming now, nothing will reach this quality for the next years to come.

:D It's nice to be back!

Peregrinus, I never uninstalled DA:I - took too bloody long to get in on the machine in the first place  lol! Just uninstalled Origin because I was having issues and I thought that was what might be causing it...turns out I had to pop the CMOS battery anyway but never reinstalled.

Pretty sure I was already running the meshes on Ultra so it should work okay- I'll check before I strain my brain with sorting out all the mods and the updates though, thanks for the heads up Peregrinus!

I'm still being killed by the first Griffin in TW3 at the moment so not very far into it. Thinking that the level advisement might be something to take seriously after all...I'm only lvl 2 and it's kicking my arse soundly lol! Can anyone say side quests? ^_^ My poor GTX760 defaulted to medium but it still looks AMAZING. Hair that moves...this is something Bioware should look into lol!

Speaking of Bioware- have we all seen the trailer for ME:A? It's a lot of fun to watch it and do a mental list of all the awesome that will be cut from the game haha!

I've moved along in ED quite nicely- am a multi millionaire bounty hunter these days, swapped out my specialty hunter for a ship with a bigger hold and more jump range recently and am having to readjust, but it's nice to be able to travel and carry some decent cargo if the trading mood takes me. I'm seriously considering doing the hike to the black hole at the centre of the galaxy Sagittarius A - as soon as the 25000+ly distance scare passes haha! That will be a long, lonely trip that will.

Akira is six months old now! SIX MONTHS! Lord that three months wen fast. I think I'd forgotten how time consuming a puppy was after all those years of an adult dog. Man, he's running me off my feet. He's in obedience classes now, going to big dog school lol! :P

He's still adorable, even almost all grown up!

Yeah 1st one went before I got my custom loop,2nd one I had watercooled and running at a healthy 50C and was playing The Witcher 3 fine on 2560x1440 on Ultra and then I loaded up DAI after 2 minutes it black screened and hasn't recovered since, using a old ATI 4850 1GB to keep me going till I get the 980Ti on the 25th of August.

While the 4850 isnt powerful enough for TW3 its ok for playing World or Warships closed Beta in 1080P on medium and Left for Dead 2 co-op on high with some buddies. Here's a Pic of my system before the 290 went

Use roll not dodge with griffins/large monsters with reach. It's also too fast to land more than one or two hits at a time. You need to roll before it even raises its wing. I used anticipation not reflexes for the griffin. I died a dozen times as well fighting it, but once you get used to its strategy, watch its movements and tactics carefully, it gets easier - but still challenging because one mistake can be costly!

I'm playing on Death March now heh, it's nuts! But really perfects your strategy.

I think so Peregrinus, I don't mind myself since I play ED compulsively but it does suck for people with lesser net I guess.

Also- it's a FIREFLY GAME!!!!!!!!!!! :D

It sounds awesome when you read through the gameplay guide, fingers crossed they do it right!

Just finished moving into my sister's place, likely take a few days to unpack, my computer isn't even up yet, but hopefully tomorrow morning.
