i've been using the requiem roleplaying mod, wanted to for a while, but was worried about it's size & complexity, and didn't want to uninstall my massive mod list, so i only kind of did, so it's only kind of working, though i'm having fun... and pulling my hair out.

Been real busy with Galactic Civilisations III and Age of Wonders III

Hell I wish there's a real Alpha Centauri sequel, still haven't got Beyond Earth after realising it's just a Civ 5 mod. I normally support Firaxis but I can't support that direction. They need to put someone in charge who's a real fan of Alpha Centauri, like they did with Jake Solomon and Xcom.

The lack of feedback has been discouraging.  My insomnia has led to something strange.

enjoy the result.  https://www.dropbox....somnia.exe?dl=0

Hey, good to hear from you on here.  I hope you are feeling better!  Anyhow, I've been tweaking and waiting for some feedback on it. I may have some more levels soon.   :)

PS  I actually put in some Skyrim time ever since I dusted off the old dual core setup.

i'm doing well according to my doctors, still getting used to the frequent trips to the bathroom, as i'm now short half my guts, but it does beat cancer. when you get a new build i'll try it out.

Yes,  I would say that is a win!  As Jackal1985111 mentioned, games are a tough business. I understand that but asking folks to try a free demo shouldn't be so hard, right?  Right now, feedback is key and if I can't motivate a handful of people to leave comments, be it negative/positive/neutral doesn't help me move this forward.

I thought they were up to patch 1.8?  Anyhow, I'm still on patch 1.5   Anyhow, I really hope Ubisoft takes Uplay out of the equation.. It pretty much killed the last Might and Magic game I tried.

HOMM3 was a masterpiece in its day, can't say the same for its sequels. Still, I never liked how you had one soldier trying to represent a whole army. I always preferred AOW2 (Age of Wonders 2)

And now AOW3 is my new fav! Only problem is that they got rid of my favorite race; Dark Elves :(

I've avoided all Ubisoft games since Uplay, besides AOW3 has got my turn-based fantasy strategy fever covered. Doubt I'll get HOMM7

Besides screenshots of HOMM7 don't impress me:

AOW3:

@Jackall1985111   Graphically, they look similar but AOW seems a lot more organic but I wonder if the look of HOMM is going towards a more chess board like look on purpose..

Well, it doesn't all have to be a hex system, Xcom for example was cubic but isometric camera, and it worked fine.

Still it suspended disbelief for me, I guess I just never liked the HOMM unit scales - 1 piece for 100 soldiers. But hey, for fans I guess it's better to stick to what works.

HOMM3 sure I swallowed it, but it's an old game. Been spoiled with Total War, I want to see armies!

Wanna see massacres!

@Jackal1985111  agree with you on the massacre.  Sometimes, you need to blow off steam.

thought you guys should know KOTOR 2 got a re-release/update with built in support for 4K resolution and wait for it controllers(sigh).

Got 1 month to go before I can order my 980Ti and get back to gaming though I doubt DAI will be much better by then and from what I hear this patch 8 is mostly focused on MP stuff.Luckilly the old ATI 4850 GPU I have as a backup is good enough to play left for dead 2 and World of Warships on 1080P at medium settings so I'm not totally bored.

Well, if you want some nostalgia.. Guess what's been patched and free.  http://www.uesp.net/...aggerfall:Files

As for KOTOR related things.. It really was unfortunate that a MMO was made from Knights of the Old Republic universe instead of KOTOR 3 which I feel would have been money better spent, and a lot of old school gamers satisfied.. But as always EA burned out the franchise by turning into a MMO which ended up being free to play and of course the massive cost probably didn't help their bottom line.  They need some new execs who are little more game savvy then what they have now imho.

Also, since you still have that 4850 in your machine,  can you run the game I built on it at 1080p, highest resolution and see what fps you get?  trying to gather some data so I can get a baseline of how it actually runs. https://www.dropbox....zendemo.7z?dl=0

sorry, about not giving your game feedback. but with the surgery, the move, and the fact my dad just died the day before yesterday (from what i would have eventually gotten if i hadn't had that surgery), i've been either too tired, or too busy, if you could re-post that link for hedgezen (i'm far too lazy to go back and find it for myself), i'll try to get to it at some point. what can i say it's been a hell of a two months. don't feel too bad about my dad either, he was a bastardsword, to put it mildly... but he's still my dad i guess, what troubles me more is that his death doesn't trouble me all that much, could be shock i suppose, or the fact he's been dying for years, or maybe... the fact he had a genetic condition, and knew he had it, and that it was hereditary, and if it wasn't for a massive bloodclot and an acutely observant doctor i'd have know nothing about this condition till five years from now, when it was far too late to do anything about it. didn't mean to go on, and on, nor to sound like a sociopath. i'll stop sorry.

@Invisible man Hey, no worries. Sorry you are going through all that.. it seems like hell of a year for both of us in RL.. Anyhow, I was asking Disturbedjim83 to give it a try since he's got that 4850 in his system right now, and he seemed somewhat bored.   :)   The link to Hedge zen is actually right in my sig.

*update*  I made some huge progress this week.  Super excited by all the work accomplished. Build version 2.2 is up!  The demo now has 6 levels.

I have 20 levels built but still adjusting and tweaking those.. The last 15 in progress but it's going slow since I've only had feedback from a handful of people so far.  BTW,  thank you for trying out the earlier builds, Invisible man!  It's very much appreciated!

Didn't mean your game was boring buddy have downloaded it and enjoying it very much what I ment to say was that while I can't play TW3 right now with the 4850 I can at least play some games yours included.

i downloaded the new version, and ran through all 6 levels on high graphics setting, other than a minor drop in framerate on level 3, it ran fine.

oh no, I was just saying that you seemed bored with your selection of games while waiting on your new card to come in.  did it run okay on your 4850 ? I was curious because it's really hard to tell how it runs on my laptop because it's pretty weak.

hmm.. that's strange.. I wonder what I have going on in level 3 to cause the frame drop..   so over 60 fps easily on your box?

I'm sure the 980Ti will go way above 60.  lol   I was just concerned with how things ran on what's considered lower end of things.  The 4850 is a nice way of knowing that the game engine I'm using will adhere to the lower scale well as cater to the mid and top tier of hardware.

PS  My 3g internet is working well tonight!  yay for me! :)

i'd say i was running at around 60fps, though without an fps tracker of some sort it's hard to say for sure.

Actually, there is one built into the game but it's turned off so it doesn't show up when you play.  If you go into the sweet fx folder where you put the Hedge Zen game, you should see a global_settings text file.  open that up, and the last line should read  #define ReShade_ShowFPS           0   //[0 or 1] Show the FPS    Set the variable to 1 and then save.   That should show the fps ingame.

demo reuploaded. Some settings for some reason got reset .. but it did give me an opportunity to replace the title screen which was getting on my nerves. :)
