Have you encountered that chest in the Emerald Graves? Not only do you have to run across the beam or fall to your death. But your companions follow you on the beam, and block you on your way back

that is one, another biggie is in the emprise (is that the correct spelling?) in the fortress, it involves walking up a tree, to reach a chest sitting in a ruined rampart, or the like. hate that one.

@cyan
are your drivers working properly now?

Hello all!
I've seen some (if not all) of you participate in the PC Community Concerns thread, nevertheless I'll introduce myself!

I am Fundamentalist Nail, I've got no idea why I chose that name for myself as I am neither a fundamentalist, nor am I a nail.

I've been a PC gamer for about...15 years, perhaps, so I'm not a veteran but neither am I a newcomer. RPGs are a staple for me (despite dabbling in other genres extensively) and my favourite game of all time is Planescape: Torment.

Outside of gaming I'm from the wonderfully ridiculous country of Australia, I drink too much red wine, I'm on a path towards lecturing about writing and literature at university (if anyone wants to read some of my creative writing and essays, thereby fueling my ego and confusing you utterly, hit me up), I hold views that some on these forums may deem controversial (and as such will try to keep them to myself), and I currently have a cold.

That should do for now!

Thanks to KilrB for inviting me and I look forward to contributing when and where I can to this group.

Cheers.

I remember growing up in New York and listening to a descendent or spokesperson for the Mohawk Native Americans say, "Sometimes it is better to stay quiet and have other assume you a fool. It is worse, to prove it."

I, myself, Uncle Dave, need to follow that sage advice.

For the incompetent sure, such a thing can never exist in my industry, well they do, just that their businesses go on sale.

However I guess those in my industry that succeeded are very heavy on our PR and social media management, as we don't have just "metacritic", no, our customer reviews are tied to our distribution channels, so we're screwed if we go the EA route... wait, Steam has customer reviews... interesting to note Origin doesn't have one.

So this is how they get away with it.

Good morning ladies and gentlemen
I just read something interesting on EA HQ
This guy said and I quote
Start the game with Origin on and as soon as the game start disconnect from the Internet as in my case pull out the RJ45 cable behind your PC and the games works much better and faster and the FPS goes higher.
And just before you are ready to quit, replug your internet and your achievements are updated.
Do not know if this is a fix or just some imaginary trouble shooting :-)
If someone wants to try it, let me know if it works.
Now for people on laptop there is usually a FN key you can press to disconnect WIFI.
Maybe something to try :-)
For the new people who joined welcome:-)

Tried it. I get the disconnect from the server message (as expected) and the FPS jumped up for a bit, but the graphic glitches and the lack of any party banter are symptoms before patch 2. Patch 3 or update 3 or whatever it is... birds are flying through houses covered in grass and the vanquished are talking louder ("kill the warrior!" after I am looting his body) than NPCs (Um, Corporal Vale, you are a member of the Inquisition Army, speak like you have a pair...) who are whispering to me. It's an unintentional acid trip. Groovy?

Its true that the PR department needs to row a thicker skin.  Its like when people give a criticism or ask a pointed question, they are labeled as a "harasser".

The thing that really surprises me though is the polarization on these boards - to the the point you wont listen to a different view.  I'll never visit the story/ character forums again.  The majority seem to feel that any criticism is spitting in the face of their family.

There are so many possible workarounds for the various glitches and problems, when I first read the whole list it felt like a parody. I mean...look at it:

http://forum.bioware...the-pc-version/

So I guess for the next Bioware game we will have to play it while doing a hand-stand, facing south-west with the stars in a certain conjunction, one eye closed...and of course Origin in offline mode!

Greetings to everyone!

Oh, I see so many people from PC/Master Patch Threads here (I've been lurking there for quite some time now). Nice =).

It's an honor to be invited to such outstanding gathering.

I'll try not to bore everyone and be brief ^_^ .

Not sure if I can be described as "good gamer" (hope you won't kick me out after such revelation =)).
But... I'm enjoying video games and prefer RPGs.
I'm playing on PC and use Kb/m by choice. BY_CHOIСE, BioWare.
My "addiction" started with TES Morrowind (which I still consider as one of my favorites) and follows the pattern many of you, as far as I can see, have =).

+ In advance I ask you to excuse me in case you'll find my remarks/post offensive.
As a rule I'm trying not to succumb to dark side by adding to negativity, but I've a serious case of "language barrier" and hot temper at times.

Once again, thank you for inviting me here.  I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone here.  B)

Have you tried what this guy is claiming on EA HQ ?
Load the game and once you are in the game disconnect your internet connection:-)
Sounds like a weird thing to do
But as I said before I have to disable my second monitor in order to play the game :-)

I'm not against consoles/controllers. For me it's only a matter of comfort. We are all free to choose.  ;)

And Thank you =)

I tried putting both Origin and offline mod and not logging in ingame. I played for around 10 hours this way and my experience is a bit ambivalent.

I believe that during that time I heard less music and banter did not increase. When I switched back to online, music got more obvious, played more often, at least thats what I heard.

Now this could very well have been pure coincidence / bad luck, I don't know. I have to admit that I tried this for no reason really, because banter was playing at a satisfactory rate even without any trick - but one: Traveling via war table.

I did this from the very beginning and while it triggers another bug - battle music upon return to Skyhold, stops when you visit the war table and then exit it so no big deal - this seems to have kept my banter working right from the start.

Patch 1 and Patch 2 did not change anything, I'm sure. As of Patch 3 I will have to see. A quick test yesterday, just arrived in a new location and I heard some area- and quest-specific banter ("free men of the dales" stuff) right away.

PS: *switching to easy greeting mode* ...

*knocks on the table* welcome everyone. :D

PPS: I never owned a console but am not against consoles. If you see me using the term "pc masterrace" it's purely for fun and I'd never really engage in a flame war for one or another gaming platform. I even own an XBox360 and XBoxOne pad for pc and played some games with it, which benefit from gamepad, like Castlevania LoS or Remember Me. :)

I finished the tutorial and went walking into the town and I am hearing lots of people talking away.
Does that count as banter :-)?
