OMG! LOLOLOLOL!

Haha yeah I saw that this morning
Had my first FO4 chem experience last night- I shot my player up with with PsychoJet when we were in a tight spot then nearly dropped the controller in shock when my erstwhile quiet, nice guy screamed F***ing KIIIIIILLLL!!!! at the top of his voice lol! Wasn't expecting that. ![]()
Jackal, forget the Mirelurk Hunter... have you crossed paths with the Mirelurk Queen in the Castle? Spawning her horrors all over the place... damn that was ahard fight. I STILL haven't advanced the main quest at all or dealt with the super mutants at the satellite so I can advance the BOS quest line (think I could take them now if I can get more shotgun shells though, or missiles)... just hanging out with the minutemen for now lol! I don't even think Preston has offered to be a companion...just me and Codsworth roaming the Commonwealth. I think I'm going to be there a long time!
I'vm only 27 hrs in though so I'm probably not even behind when you think about it!
Oh yeah, I had my power armor on when she showed up luckily!
I'm focusing on the main story though, I did alot of BOS quests but it inevitably led me to advance the main story. Right now I can't say much, to avoid spoilers. I will just say that the plot is Bethesda's best thus far, and don't be afraid of rushing the game, there's ALOT of game. You'll see ![]()
Oh BTW check out the mods already! It's incredible! Even for me!

http://www.nexusmods...out4/mods/745/?
http://www.nexusmods...out4/mods/798/?

I'm tracking the mods thus far, waiting until confirmed stable as my game is very stable now.
Almost everyday new mods, can only imagine what kind of game FO4 will end up to be in a few months, let alone in a year or two, judging by Skyrim.
Also LunaFancy you like Codsworth yes - did you know he can do this?

just figured i'd let you guys know i ordered a copy of original sin as well, so... should i wait for the prequel, and play it first -- or should i play it in the order it was released?
@jackal -- btw when my ck was crashing way back when you asked what file/s caused it, well, it was the dll file.
What prequel?
Anyway, no point waiting to play it, just play it!
Damn it, FO4's music is so intense, I can't believe what an awesome job Inon Zur did with it. For me, the older Fallout themes, I didn't figure you could do much with it, I enjoyed it for atmosphere but it wasn't really "epic". With Inon Zur though, even with the main theme's remix it gave me goosebumps.
Even better... the combat:
When the music is this awesome I end up dragging the fight!
Intense goosebumps with this music, dashing from cover to cover, or in full power armor doing a combat drop via vertibird on a hostile location... loving this game!
It's great isn't it? I can't believe I am saying this but... I'm even loving Diamond City Radio lol! Gah! I just love the game so much!
Though I do feel like my char needs a shirt that reads B**ch to the BOS right now because Come ON! how many ghouls must I slay, how much tech must I carry, before you make me your man Danse? lol!
Meanwhile- how amazing is Valentine? I mean... I am very tempted to ditch the BOS and just run with him for a while he's so cool!
Advance the main story ![]()
Danse's companion plot is tied into the BOS questline (which is tied to the main story - you need to advance), a very powerful companion plot may I add - not to mention Elder Maxson's writers did a really good job with him too (you'll see)
Though at that point, you'll have alot of other things in your mind too heh. Faction questlines are tied to the main story.
Be warned, spoilers are everywhere, do not read up on anything online until you finish the game.
I haven't used Valentine as a companion yet, I'll have to get around to it, I'm planning to use him when my character is more relaxed plotwise.
Diamond City Radio's DJ has errrr... issues, when I first heard him between the songs I thought to myself "there had better be a quest to 'fix' this" and behold, there IS!
He (DJ) does a bit, doen't he lol! i find it endearing... looking forward to that quest now poor lad....I keep getting sidetracked by adventuring through the wasteland, which brings forth sidequests which lead to 'I'll just run up north/south/eat/west a bit and see what locations turn up... found Lonely Chapel and a lake last night, my character had a nice refreshing swim in the lake lol!
I'm never going to finish this game at this rate lol!
ETA- OMFG! I've just realised I've morphed into the kind of person who spent 50hrs roaming the HInterlands...
Well, original sin is the prequel... there are 3 games that came first, unless i'm wrong... as I know little about the series.
1st one : Divine Divinity 2nd one: Beyond Divinity then 3rd Divinity 2 Ego Draconis . Expansion to 2 was Flames of Vengeance. All of these were very much action rpgs but still very enjoyable.

It feels like Skyrim, doesn't it?
Refreshing? Soaking with rads more like! Hell wish I can grow glowing fungus, as Radaway is freakin expensive.
BTW check this out:
That was awesome Jackal lol! Have you watched Nuka-Break?
Haha! Rad X is a marvelous thing! (as are vodka lime and sodas which I may or may not have been consuming prior to the 'let's SWIM' decision lol!)
I just found out that I have to hang out with Valentine before Danse will be my dud's dude... all that running about...at least I got paid I guess.
Off to find that bloody key now...
Are you going to play it Peregrinus?
Nuka-break? Looks fun! Going to watch that, later, after some more FO4 lol
... BTW I just found out for the last 4 years I've been gaming on "power saving mode" in Windows 7. The difference between the "balanced" and "high performance" setting is HUGE!!!
Flipping a switch, I exponentially increased my performance in FO4, by like 10+ FPS (feels like I just got a new processor or OC'ed or something - I sprinted through Boston to test, couldn't believe my eyes, even raised graphics settings). I am now aiming and firing my minigun accurately while flying through the densest parts of Boston too... using a 4 yr old never-OC'ed machine.
I never even needed to flip the switch until FO4...
So now I've been playing FO4, TW3, SC, ATW, DAI... FOUR years and still kicking!!! And here I was considering to make a major upgrade (been looking at the i7 - which means I would need a new everything).
Hell if my machine can still run games in 2015, what's the point of upgrading? Looks like SC is the only game that's probably going to push me to upgrade once it comes out, I run the alpha on medium settings, unlike others where it's minimum "high".

I've had an opportunity to play it a bit on the PS4 I got for my gf for Christmas. I have to play it mostly on 3rd person mode because the 1st person makes me nauseated. The FOV is set at what seems to be 65 or so which is too narrow for me. I'm used it being on 75 or higher.. I have no idea how console gamers don't get sick playing at that FOV setting which seems to be pretty standard for 1st person
games.
P.S. I ran into my first group of feral ghouls.. ugh. They are scary. Radscorpion wasn't so bad. They still have the same weakness from the other fallouts. Thank goodness!
Yeah they need to fix the FOV, on PC, even with ini settings, the scoped-view is bugged and other UI features out of line when FOV is changed. All in due time...
Feral ghouls are great fun, especially when you shoot off their limbs. I still remember one legendary ghoul that had so much HP, I shot off his leg, he tripped, then hacksawed his other limbs with my ripper to save ammo until he was nothing but a head and a body (lol) - and he survived all the way to the end!
Now that I've had a chance to play FO4 a bit.
The bad
1. Unsure if I like the real time VATS. It feels somewhat unwieldy to me.
2. I'm still a bit confused on how some of the town building portions work. I didn't see anywhere that explained it at all in-game.
3. I'm not too keen on the amount of DOF used on the background. It's kinda heavy.
4. What is up with the companion controls and pathfinding? erghhh
5. A whole lot of loading screens due to duct taped engine.
The good
1. Atmosphere/art is amazing.
2. The least buggiest fallout yet.
3. The storyline seems very good and I'm only at the beginning.
4. Bethesda listened and gave us what we asked for. A fallout using creation engine. I don't know why people are complaining so much about it.
5. The weapon/armor mods are great!
6. A lot of fun to explore. It certainly seems even more vast then Fallout 3.
Yay for Peregrinus joining the FO4 love in!
I've set the FOV to 85 in the console and it's much better but if you go too far the HUD is too small to read (I play hooked up to my TV) I find I swap from first to third pretty regularly- first for fighting and third for running around. I do like forst for ladders though, I seem to run my guy off the side if I do them in third haha!
The companion pathfinding comment made me lol- Codsworth is always disappearing and reappearing on me lol! And we won't talk about him ruining stealth...mainly because he tends to rain bloody slaughter down on the subjects and the distraction lets me snipe them anyway.
I actually prefer the slo mo VATS to the pause one myself, it's more of a challenge and seems a bit more real.
The loading screens are annoying as hell- time for a new engine Bethedsa. I hear you on the settlement thing... I've done a bit but it is Sooooo clunky my patience runs out PDQ. I did manage to build a two story workshop in Sanctuary after seeing one on youtube but after that... I'm waiting for the mods to smooth the experience out and to finish the story before I go past prefabs for now lol! God Mode gives you unlimited resources which is helpful...apparently there is a mod on Nexus to remove size limitations too...
You'll LOVE Nuka Break Jackal- and so will you Peregrinus. I watched it in the lead up to the release and it only fueled the hype lol!
I've been playing on balanced too... I am SO turning that off before I launche the game now lol! I have an i7 4790 and my 760 manages SC on High at the moment if that's any indication...I'mn hoping to have upgraded by release though. FO4 is fine on high too at the moment, I wonder what it will look like when I adjust the power balance!
@Lunafancy yep! I discovered the Nuka Break series quite sometime ago. It's quite good. :> There's no way to adjust FOV on a game console, thus my comment on it. I'm fairly sure mods will take care of most, if not all the issues I talked about but once again, I'm not on PC for FO4.
Ahhh yes..but they are bringing some mods to consoles so you never know! Mind you- I upgraded my pc for DA:I and FO4 is actually worth doing it for so maybe you could build yourself one... I mean this is kind of going to be the standard for new games in the future so it is a worthwhile investment... yes? No? Maybe?
I personally cannot wait for the first character overhaul because wtf is with Bethesda's character models? I love the world but damn, they need a new engine...you can only 'improve' something that is really outdated for so long.
You forgot weapons on back! That's my main gripe with the game lol
I actually like the slomo VATs, it makes it easier to get the perfect shot; as in FO3/FNV I had to exit/reenter VATs just to move time a little and get the perfect lineup shot (and it made it quite frustrating). Now, I can shoot someone's head off in VATs as he runs from one side of a window to the other lol
Anyway, I seriously don't understand why people buy Bethesda games on console. For me, their games become mod projects for me and sometimes I go into the CK just to make a quick personal tweak or modify mods to my liking. Can't imagine being restricted on a console with such a game. Would drive me bonkers, like having tons of itches that I can't scratch.

Well, I have no idea where I am going to be living, so it's an investment that I can't make. The last thing I did was get my gf the PS4. it's my thanks to her for a lot of things which I won't go into. My first venture into game development was a major failure in a lot of ways. I'm living out of my military duffel bag at this point trying to figure out what to do next. At least I won't have a lot to carry. My bag and my laptop. That's about all I own in material belongings.
I'm thinking of going somewhere cold. Possibly Alaska or there abouts.
