Mhm...could you two please summarize what caused this bug, so what to avoid / in which order to combine the quests to avoid it? ^^ Was it really just quicktraveling that ruined an important scene / cutscene here? I should be save then, I never quicktravel, but who knows....

Well, I'll try to keep this as spoiler free as possible...
It's a main story quest, after finishing up in Fort Hagen, you should head to the roof, not any other exit.
Exiting through the roof should present you with a terminal and a door right in front of you. The terminal you need to open the door, and by unlocking the door through the terminal you trigger a script that is essential to progress.
If you use an exit that doesn't have a terminal and door right in front of you, reload and use another exit.
Looks like the level designer forgot to lock certain doors to isolate the exits... or make the script fire on other exits.

Will put the post in my quickfavs list to remind me, thanks. ![]()
I think I can also guess what this is about and what Luna has been missing out on. It's in the launch trailers. Guess it's in the nature of trailers to spoil. ^^

Yeah but to experience it in your story... well you just have to see ![]()
It's a moment that only ingame can you truly capture it

Ahhh, it's even MORE specific than that Jackal! Because there is a lift with a terminal right in front that you can use to exit through the roof that won't trigger it. This is what messed me up completely.
When you do the important thing we aren't spoiling, Godzilla, you need to take a lift that takes you straight to the roof from where you are (via one short staircase to the left). It opens to a hallway, not an office room like the other one. If you think you're going to access the roof via a ladder- you've gone the wrong way. The way I went, which was essentially the way I got in gets you nice ammo but not the trigger for the quest.
I could have done without the ammo in exchange for probably around 12 hrs (when you count me doing a tone of random BOS quests thinking that would work) of frustration lol!
In short Godzilla- don't go back any of the ways you got in! ![]()
Sweet success!

Really Codsworth? Photobombing?

Lol damn, at least you got it working though yes Luna? With a ton of xp from completing the random quests. There are new quests on the *ahem* ![]()
And yeah companions have a habit of moving around too much, the worst is when you're in cover and they 'bump' into you and push you out of cover... GRRR!!! I died so many times because of that. Someone has to mod the follow distance.

Damn is one word for it Jackal- I used several more. ![]()
And you're right- the trailers do not do it justice, the experience is pretty amazing. I saved just before so I coule reload and experience (and record) it several times. Because I'd earned it!
All told I stayed up to midnight sorting this but sleep is for the weak and Danse is now my companion. And doesn't he turn just a bit squishy when you make that shift? I'm looking forward to seeing what his personality is like...I worked hard for this romance option, I hope it's worth it lol! I mean, I'm not expecting a Zevran or even a Dorian(who let's face it was a case of Bioware trying way too hard) from Bethesda, but a nice bit of story and character development would be good. Fingers crossed.
I'll miss Codsworth though, a mod for multiple followers will be a boon.

Haha I watch it on youtube from time to time, always gives me goosebumps and puts a smile on my face. Whoever's idea it was for such an entrance deserves a raise.
Danse's quest and ending has to be one of the best from Bethesda IMO, especially the writing towards the end, you'll see as you play. Though erm... nah I better not spoil, I'll let you experience it for yourself. Just... don't read up anymore on him! ![]()

BTW, the music, seriously, the music...
I've been trying to overkill it, so I don't crave it so much, but Inon Zur, there's something about his sound, especially comparing DAO and FO4:
Neverending goosebumps with his music, even two completely different games/universes, yet still goosebumps, am I the only one?

Posté 04 décembre 2015 - 01:01
No. you aren't the only one, I get the goosebumps too. From both of the scores. Just love the sense of drama.
I think I know what you're alluding to re Danse and I'm hoping the path I intend to take down ion regardss to it is doable, my guy wants to roam the wasteland with Danse after endgame if he can...even knowing the truth. Well, he does now anyway... if Danse turns out to be annoying or something he'll change his mind lol!
Speaking of pretty amazing music, have you seen/ heard this original track inspired by FO4- it's pretty great imo.

Haha, and epicness! How he managed to make the Fallout theme so epic is amazing. Best score of the series by far.
Really nice fan track too! He should update with actual FO4 screens, it suits it so well!
And as for Danse, yes your character can still roam with Danse BUT... there will be challenges, and not in terms of combat, but by... something else you have to experience to believe... start saving the game relentlessly after *ahem* - you'll know when you get to that point
(unless you start exiting the way you go in places again lol)

Hahahaha! I'll pay that one.

I'm pretty sure it's all been well and truly spoiled for me via a reddit post in the first week or so but I will heed your warning and save obsessively. I just hope I can get him out of the power armour and into some 'roaming the wasteland clothes' at some point lol! Not a fan of the PA myself to be honest... Oh the sacrilege! ![]()
#5988
Posté 04 décembre 2015 - 01:41
It's the main quest that 'complicates' things... as long as you don't have that spoiled yet it's all good!
"wasteland clothes"? I got the feeling you want to take off more than his armor lol ![]()
I haven't got him out of PA myself, but I looked it up, apparently will have to use console commands towards the end of his quest stage. But by the time you get to that stage hopefully there will be a mod out for it, and tested/less buggy.
I love power armor, always been fascinated by it, and never before in a game did I feel like I was in power armor until now. As you can see from my screens, my character wears it often ![]()

Lol! No! I just want to get him into something like the road leather set up my guy has- or fatigues or something lol! I know I'll be waiting a looooong time for any boy nudie mods lol!

Haha yeah, the lady ones always come first, think there's like 20 of them now, all female ![]()
Speaking of clothes though, I might try getting Danse out of his PA one of these days, dress him up in a red dress, and take a screenshot ![]()
... oh hell would he be pissed ![]()
... wait... now that's AN IDEA!!!

Oh, you have to post that! ![]()
Yeah, I think mid next year will be an interesting time for the couples of the wasteland, if the past is a predictor of the modding future lol!
Of course, I have yet to meet MacCready, could be my guy's eye will wander... but then again, this isn't Bioware- polyamory is all the go lol!
Trying very hard not to reflect on what this line of thought says about me right now ![]()

Posté 04 décembre 2015 - 03:56
Heh yeah, I intended my character to pick someone as well but then... the benefits of having multiple lovers in each settlement for the +15% xp boost anywhere on the map... going with polyamory instead.
It's only for the xp... honest ![]()

Haha! Sure it is...suuuure it is lol!
I'm aiming for monogamy for the first play through, since this is likely the one that will be ongoing... the next character might be a bit of a tart though lol! I'm thinking sarcastic and prone to gratuitous violence for him. ![]()

I just noticed DAI patch 11 notes.. More multiplayer fixes ..like patch 9 & 10.. 11 patches .. and game still has notable bugs..

Kinda done with the DA direction to be honest, but that's just me. Have yet to try out Trespasser, maybe one day when I feel like installing DAI again, then again, I'm very disillusioned with EA in general. Heard about battlefront too lol
So EA, instead of actually making a good game, openly admits to relying on the release of the upcoming Star Wars movie to sell the game, which is even split in half at the moment, the full product costing the price of two games. Kinda pathetic really, shameless cash grabs.
And to think they dared to challenge FO4's release lol
I just hope they don't buy out and ruin more franchises.

Ooooh I've missed the Battlfront news- must go and google now. ![]()
I'll probably play DAI eventually now that there is a fix for the elf bodies- I tried a little while ago but the rogue armour still had arm issues, I believe that has been resolved now. A year is still not long enough for the bitterness to have mellowed thoguh, maybe next year, if I'm not still playing FO4 that is. ![]()
What did EA say about FO4's release?
It bodes ill for ME:A, doesn't it? That will definitely be one to wait for a sale on...

@Lunafancy You mean Battlefront Mass Effect?
@Jackal I really thought they would do better with a star wars franchise especially since Jade Raymond was involved, I believe.. kinda disappointed but it's very likely due to the corporate EA overlords.

The elf bodies have been finally fixed? ![]()
Reminds me, Lord Surinen, the elf guy - is he still around? lol
As for battlefront, I'm not surprised, EA made it clear their vision; "our games are too hard"... so... dumbed down games for the mass market, neglect of single player and lots of microtransactions/paywalls. Yup, sounds like Battlefront to me; based on reviews, its a shooter with less depth then even Call of Duty, 12 maps unless you buy the season pass, no single player campaign, all flash and no substance etc etc...
Quite frankly I find the whole thing amusing.
IMO we won't be seeing a good Star Wars game as long as EA holds the monopoly on the license, so anything Star Wars for me will be just the films. I miss games like KOTOR and Jedi Academy, but oh well.

The good thing about FO4 hitting it out of the park is that Bethesda won't be being bought by EA anytime soon. ![]()
This season pass thing is getting out of hand, Elite Dangerous has pretty much lost me since they have decided that their paid expansions- there was meant to be three all up, are now going to be doled out as 'seasons' with each 'season' being the price of a full AAA game...and they are now harping about a ten year plan before the game is complete.
Like, REALLY?
If there isn't something waaaaaayyy better than ED in five years (and that's not counting Star Citizen) I'll eat my hat. And the fanboys are lapping it up... by now we should have been walking around stations but we still can't even walk around the ship ffs lol! And their 'Planetary Landings' expansion somehow turned into 'Non-Atmospheric rocky worlds you can only drive around and you can't get out of the buggy' expansion. I mean, if they had world with life at least it might have been interesting.
Ah well, no loss, I'll probably still be playing FO4 up til SC releases anyway haha! I had some good mates on that game though, so it's a bit sad to leave it.

Bethesda will never be bought out, they have a good thing going not to mention their stance on modding - which pretty much guarantees continual long term success for any of their games. IMO though, with FO4's quality and story, it's definitely Bethesda's best, even without mods. Steam user reviews are 9/10 for FO4 btw, out of 37K reviews ![]()
It's a deserved score IMO, and I'm glad players are able to scratch beneath the surface of the game and see the work Bethesda really put into this.
And what? ED doing an EA? Well that's... saddening =/
FO4's season pass is priced fairly, so is TW3's, and the season pass is actually a season pass; all access granted. I'm kinda shocked ED's devs would pull an EA.
Anyway, back to happier stuff:
Had an intense battle along the south west last night, still remember it, was on foot, helping Valentine with his personal quest, caught in a cross fire between raiders and the BOS, saw my provisioner between my settlements in trouble, rushed in to help, suddenly a deathclaw came around the bloody corner and scared the sh-t outta me! Was running around a house trying to get away from it, hairs on end, spine tingling, intense... raiders shooting at me while I was running from the death claw (the bloody combat AI is freakin smart, they really know how to flank)...
Finally had my VATs bar full, needed to make the shots count, 4 shots on his leg, didn't slow him down WTF, pulled out a pistol, crippled his leg without VATs at the last minute just as he was about to grab me. Sighed a breath of relief as I finished off the raiders with my shotgun while manuevering around the crippled deathclaw, almost died from a raider veteran even after shooting both his legs, he still kept shooting while crippled on the ground... blew him up with a grenade... deathclaw still chasing me with 1 leg! Attack the raiders not me damn it! Then finally ending it with a shotgun blast to his head while with 10% health.
Really intense, I needed to take a break and build some stuff in my settlements after that.
Anyway I love the limb damage, the way the ghouls charge at you to headbutt when you shoot off their arms... it cracks me up everytime too heh, especially armless groups of them.
