Okaaaaaaay....I just got the scene we were talking about earlier. It was night, too. A coincidence, the game creates moments like this just...so.
Very, very cool!

Lol got FZed by Danse? Hahaha, yeah I upped my charisma as well, to 8. Luck as well, I very rarely fail speech checks. Strength and endurance still crap, whacking things take ages and I die in a few hits without power armor.
3 suiciders at once? Haha reminds me of this video (at 3:23 onwards):
Gotta admit, shinji's accent cracks me up everytime.
@Godzilla
Hooray! And no glitches haha ![]()

The spot in the video looks suspiciously like where I was last night lol! I just wanted to get the place on my map before I went to bed so I didn't forget about it you know then from out of nowhere Kaboom x3. Bloody glad I was in god mode because I would have lost a fair bit of legwork if I'd died lol!
I'm cut over the friendzoning- sadly, and I think I have mentioned this before, I am an idiot and didn't realise that the first row of the Perk chart was how you added to your SPECIAL until just recently. I've been doing all kind os searches for where this mythical training was and it was only when I accidently hovered over it and had the true meaning of *Training* click that I got it.
So I have perks a plenty but am pretty much on my starting SPECIAL, except for one extra in Strength and now Charisma. I'm going to avoid talking to him til I'm on eight or nine I think. I'd park him somewhere but he is too damned awesome to have along. Best spotter out there, way better than Boone even. And oh boy can he wreak some carnage. And the fact he looks like a butch Pierce Brosnan is not lost on me either. ![]()
I just hope there isn't a lockout on the rmance with him if you fail a flirt early on, it would suck to have missed the boat and not know it- might have to check around while I am not too far past that point to replay.

Nah there's no lockout, and even if you reject them for romance, they will bring up the topic to trigger it again every once in a while - in other words they can be friend-zoned themselves, and romanced later.
Also, the flirts are there just for roleplaying, even if you get rejected it doesn't really matter. You aren't officially in a romance until you see a big yellow button called "romance" on the dialogue options. And after that, they address you a little differently, as a lover would, and 15%+ xp boost.
It's a good feature, but it can be annoying as the non-romanced companions won't stop hitting on you, no matter how many times you friend zone them lol.

I might be forgetful - probably forgot about my forgetfullness
- but have I asked you whether you've seen this mod here?
http://www.nexusmods...ut4/mods/4472/?
It looks absolutely brilliant and like something I would've expected a few months (or maybe weeks at best) AFTER the release of the official mod kit.
I've also kinda stalled installing this, I don't know why, but will definitely give it a try tomorrow. Watch the videos folks, it looks so amazing! ![]()

See now Godzilla, that is really very tempting. However I am still scarred from the eight month saga that was me getting FNV to run with mods- and even when it did run it crashed so often that I couldn't finish it before FO4 was released. So I am passing on any mods until I have one vanilla playthrough under my belt lol! I've only had one CTD in all the time I've been playing adn I don't want to risk the stability.
But when I'm finished, I fully intend to start exploring the mods so keep the recs coming please!
Screenshots when you have this one running would be awesome!
@Jackal, I hear you re the flirt option, and I've read the same... and yet now I have remembered that I had the level up option before that conversation and didn't use it, I really have to reload and try it again lol! Damn my OCD...

Guys, I have no idea where dogmeat went after I dismissed him. Shouldn't he go back to where I found him? The gas station, right ?
@Lunafancy lot of the mods I've seen look pretty safe so far. I don't think the best of fo4 mods page you shared has the best though. lol check out what Gopher is using on youtube.

I've not found Dogmeat again after dismissing him either Peregrinus, he turned up for the Reunions quest but I haven't seen him since. No idea where he is, I've looked through Sanctuary- which is where I left him- but nope. Not in Red Rocket either.
I'm not a fan of german shepherds myself so I'm happy enough for him to be gone... I desperately want to have him modded into a ginormous version of Akira though. When the CK comes out I think this might be the catalyst I need to finally learn to mod something, since I'm pretty certain no one else is going to mod a Chinese Crested version of him lol!
Mods being stable for others is no indication of them being stable for me lol! I had an awful time trying to mod Skyrim and an even awfuller time of it with FNV... let's just say I am reluctant to wander down that twisty turny path right now because the frustration might just turn me off finishing the game.
No, really, it was that bad with the other two. I'm serious.

Posté 08 décembre 2015 - 01:50
@Lunafancy Yeah, I don't see a mod of giant Akira coming out anytime soon.
I do think someone will mod more types of dogs once the CK releases though. FNV was buggy as hell without mods although some unofficial fixes eventually dealt with that but too late. Skyrim was pretty stable with mods, long as you didn't start hitting that 3.5 gig memory size limitation and you didn't install conflicting mods.

Maybe I can make a case for it on Nexus? I mean really a mostly hairless dog makes more sense in an irradiated world than one with a thick, glossy coat, mutation would explain the massive size increase and Manga hair is always a good thing, right?
![]()
I'll do it for myself if I have to, even if I have to beg someone for help on the forums before I finish it.
I'm taking this whole concept very literally, we have a charity even there in Oz called the Million Paws Walk, it raises money for the RSPCA and lots of people wear costumes with their dogs. Yeah sure, there is usually a set theme but who cares, I've already decided to make myself a Vaultsuit to match Akira's and source some sort of appropriate weaponry so we can both be vault dwellers lol!
And on the mods front - I have a real knack for getting orders very, very wrong and it takes so long to sort that out haha! Maybe when the effects of my concussion finally wear off I can face it... but not now.
I really do want to sort some settlement mods out though when I've finished the main quest... I think Danse and Jayden will be building their dream home together somewhere nice and non developer dictated.

Wow, looks good... mods are quite safe as long as they are using (and mention) FO4edit to make the *.esps, but if it's something like TESVSnip... then yeah, I wouldn't risk it.
Also from what I gathered from the modders, FO4 is using a new archive - BA2 instead of BSA, which folks haven't got around to figure out how to repack yet, and the game isn't very optimised at the moment so lots of loose files may slow your performance (a problem that the texture artists are facing)
Any mod can be risky but I'm currently using a mod for standalone shorts, a mod to fix the killshot perk, and a mod for legendary crafting - no problems whatsoever. I removed my texture mods until they figure out the BA2 archiving process due to performance issues running on a HDD.
@Peregrinus
How did you dismiss him? He defaults to Sanctuary if you didn't give him a location to go to, however to find him in Sanctuary... it's hard. Search around the backyards and look in the doghouses (there are quite a few), Dogmeat is usually around there.
This is why I made a doghouse at Red Rocket Stop and moved him there, he's too hard to find in Sanctuary.

I'm dreaming of an irradiated Christmas... Yes, it is finally 25/12 for me in the game. It was a bit sad when poor old Jayden commented that he can't believe it's christmas and he had a solemn moment or two with his memories of Christmases past by the tree.

It just isn't what his first Christmas with Sean was supposed to be...

But who needs a jolly man in a red suit in your chimney when you have your very own GQ Paladin to show you his presents?

I'm going to hell via an asylum, aren't I? ![]()

@Jackal I only dismissed Dogmeat because I thought it would hamper the "lone wanderer" perk. I loved having him around. He was really useful and helpful. It also doesn't hurt I love german shepherds.
I'll search for him tonight again. I guess I'll go around and clean up more debris. I really want the settlement to look nicer.
@Lunafancy Great idea on the charity thing!
Finally made it over to Diamond City and ran into Piper.. I definitely won't be taking her along..

Knew I liked you for a reason Peregrinus lol! When I setessntial 0 her I'll make the second tap for you lol! ![]()
Female NPCs are apparently always caricatures in games, designed to be hot stereotypes and totally overblown personality wise- I'm sure it's because the main audience is assumed to be guys with one hand down their pants. Anyway, I am so looking forward to FFXV- the only female character of significance is the mechanic, and while she looks as annoying as any JRPG female NPC ever is, I'm sure she can be avoided. It will be refreshing to see an all male cast of hotties camped up and caricatured. I might get to experience gaming from the male perspective for once lol!
One day non caricatured female NPCs may become an industry norm but I shall continue to play my characters as men who enjoy the company of other men.

Piper does make a bad first impression, but she does get better, at least for me ![]()
Haven't really found a companion I didn't like, then again I rarely hate someone in a game, and found that with time, I can grow to like them. Reminds me of Sten in DAO, in my first playthrough, I picked him up, then after a while left him in camp for the whole game. Second time, I took him along, and found out he's actually awesome and hilarious ![]()
So far in FO4 my favorite has to be Deacon. Followed by Danse, then Nick, then Dogmeat... I really wanted to like Strong because he's funny but he hates my character, hates everything she does! ![]()
Curious though why not play as a female PC Luna? Then again that's like asking me why I'm not playing a male in this playthrough heh

I guess I've always kind of preferred men to women as friends and never really felt comfortable with women IRL so don't feel any urge at all to be one in a video game. Also because I like to look at boys, not girls Jackal.
Honestly, if I'm playing 3rd person I don't want to watch a woman's arse wiggle all over the place, especially not the way they are usually made to look in games.
I like to make a hot male character and have a jolly good perv on him for the duration of the game, I admit it freely.
There are loads of games I simply won't play because of the females, I'm not whinging for change to the industry or anything like that, it is what it is and I have enough games to play that I don't care, I'm just stating my position on it all.
As long as they keep making nice looking men to tag along with my own nice looking man, I'm happy really. I'm still shooting Piper in the head though.
I tried building a more ambitious house in sanctuary yesterday lol! Yeah... I'm thinking I need some practice lol! My god the controls are so clunky! I'm willing to admit I am hopeless but still, it's an awkward system.

I think we can all be grateful the pic was taken at night lol! Not sure what's going on with the overhang...
I thought this was an awesome landscap shot though.

@Lunafancy You're actually in the norm when it comes to playing a male in a game. My gf does the same thing and reasoning seems solid to me.
I also know what you mean about games that portray women a certain way. Diablo 3 is guilty of this.. Why would a monk wear high heels ? I only play males in that.
The settlement system seriously needs a mod or some kind of overhaul. It really is very clunky to use. I have a lot of patience but it irritates me to no end.

Good to know I'm not the only woman who feels like that Peregrinus.
I bet she's be looking forward FFXV too lol! I jumped on the reddit for that game and LMAO at all the complaining about the boy's outfits and the lack of females to perv on... it's almost karmic it is. I wonder if SquareEnix is on some level trying to tap into the Yaoi audience by going all out on the Shounen Ai direction. No complaints from me, that's for sure.
As for FO4, there are some mods already for the settlements, but until the requisite 'new game patches' have been sorted I'm reluctant to go there since even if I get the damned mods to work they'll be reset anyway. I figure the rate I'm going with all my distractions there will be mod support before I finish the main quest line sso I figure I'll just wait til then to go nuts on the settlements. It makes sense that you'd wait til the ruckus has died down before you get into setting up supply routes etc anyway.
I'm heading out to do the Glowing Sea quest next, just debating whether to use a HAZMAT suit/ power armour or drop a stack of caps on RadX. Thoughts?
#6047
Posté 09 décembre 2015 - 02:48
@lunafancy It wouldn't surprise me much if Square Enix is going towards Yaoi. It's become pretty popular in the US. Big surprise there, right? lol Anyhow, I would go with RadX. I really dislike using the power armor. It feels more of a hassle dealing with the cores.
#6048
Posté 09 décembre 2015 - 12:03
Well, I tried the rad x and didn't get very far before I went back to Diamond City and bought a HAZMAT suit, which turned out to be a very good idea. I even consoled in a second one for Danse for immersion sake.
My god the trek through the Glowing sea is fraught with danger! It's not often you get to use the word harrowing in a sentence but it is indeed a harrowing experience. And long...really, really long if, like me, you die a lot and have to head off course and explore every interesting thing you spy along the way lol! 3 hrs in and I'm still not at my destination!
It's a stunning, if bleak, environment though.
