Heh I would remove all the doghouses in Sanctuary except the one you want to be his home (or move him to Red Rocket Stop with a doghouse there), but that's just me, saves me running around looking for him.

Luna, I'm surprised you decided to wear a Hazmat suit instead of Power Armor in the glowing sea. It's really dangerous out there!

FO4 for me is... heartbreaking for me at the moment plotwise. Some serious voicework with one hell of a dilemma late game. It's a HUGE change from Skyrim or Oblivion's generic A to B plot.

I really don't like power armour Jackal, as in never use it at all. :)

Danse is seriously that good when you get him out that, while I died a few times, he pretty much spotted trouble far enough out that VATS and stimpaks were enough when we couldn't just sneak around the danger. Plus I'm playing it on normal, not something ridiculous like you lol!

But seriously Danse is da bomb as a companion, forget how 9Mr. Jayden feels about him, I'm crushing pretty hard myself.  ;)  :P

Except for the bit where I walked too close to the edge of a broken roof and fell into a ghoul infested church he couldn't get into...I was less than fond then I can tell you  lol!

Haha yeah I know that church, I fell through myself. Had PA on so just mowed them down with my flamethrower.

Lol! See? You prove my point, PA makes it all too easy! I was running and shooting and finding higher ground ans shooting and swearing and laughing...it was great fun.

Especially the bits where Danse was coaching me from the sidelines lol! Definitely a memory moment there.

Last night I wanted to hunt out this Dunwich place I've read about and fast travelled to what I thought was a nearby location (it really wasn't lol!) and the FT dumped me out in the middle of a full blown warzone haha! RPGs from out of nowhere hurt just a bit!

Heh on survival difficulty, PA is a necessity at times! Especially with my character... 2 STR and 2 END starting off.

Dunwich... oh that's scary if I remember...

Yeah FT has a habit of dropping you right into a warzone, hence I try to FT abit further or fly there via vertibird.

@Lunafancy @Jackal  I HATE super mutants!  They make me almost want to rage quit.  lol  I did not have good times climbing Trinity towers.  Strong was definitely worth it though.  He's really funny!

@Lunafancy  I don't know if you've played Deus Ex Human Revolution but it's definitely your cup of tea. I just started playing it again and the game is still so amazing.

PS  I do think Bethesda does need to address how many fusion cores drop in the game because it's beginning to drop like candy. I have 9 100% cores sitting in my inventory and I'm really not that far in the game.

Peregrinus, The first time I tried Trinity Towers I was something like level 9- not only did I not make it up the front stairs, I got stuck in a death loop lol! Took me many horrific deaths to time a jump over the banister and a mad spring to safety lol! I went back at 25, with a lot more experience and it wasn't too bad at all. But that first time... :pinched:

I have Deus Ex Human Revolution in my Steam account (got the whole lot in a Steam sale) but haven't played it yet. I wanted to play the older games first but the graphics did me in, I'm definitely going to play it some day though...story of my life with most of my Steam games it seems lol!

Except FO4 of course, which I honestly can't see an end to. I'm already planning a Deathclaw hunting trip to Glowing Sea for after endgame. There were two on a highway on the way that messed be up badly enough I had to sneak around them in the end, and a glowing sucker camping out in a building that we lost track of when the BOS showed up... I did lace it's lair with frag mines though, so it might already be dead lol!

And then there will be the settlement building... Danse and Jayden shall be Kings of the Commonwealth in due course. And the mods! Really, I can't see an end to the game  for me at this point, I finally get the 1200hrs in Skyrim thing. Skyrim itself didn't grip me, but this one sure has.

@Lunafancy  lol  Glad you finally get the 1200 hrs in Skyrim.. For me , it was nearly 1500 hrs, although half that time was me playing around with mods.

I went to Trinity towers at level 15.  I'm glad I brought all the stims and food, or I would have been toast.  :)

Deus Ex still looks great even though it's old.

I still find the bugs to be the most dangerous enemies in the game for me, especially those freakin mosquitos. Super mutants are slow, fat, and easy to hit at least!

I modded Skyrim as soon as the mods were available, same thing I'm doing now to FO4. I really look forward to the growth of the game in coming years.

Also, I finally found a place that I'm going to move into, aside from Red Rocket stop...

Just look at the view!!!

Screen_Shot83.png
Screen_Shot84.png

Has a house in front and pier to the sea, it's just perfect!

Now going to fix up the roof and move all my equipment there via vertibird... might take a while.

Going to add some couches to watch the sunset... wait, it's east coast right? *sigh* Sunrise then...

Those Bloodbugs are murderous critters indeed Jackal! I'm tempted to mod it but it's really hot here and I know how long and frustrating setting mods up is for me... just can't face it right now lol! I like the enhancement you're running very much though Jackal- is it an ENB?

Huh? Not using ENB, either than ENBboost :)

It's just a nice sunny day by the beach. I finally fixed up the roof of the house, setup my supply line and moved everything in. Had 2142/410 weight while moving! Yay for vertibirds! Built Dogmeat his doghouse too, powered the house with a wind turbine and built turrets/missile launchers everywhere (my new home now has more defence then even the castle!) :D

Screen_Shot88.png

Also parked my PA by the pier warehouse (not really logical but hey...)

Screen_Shot87.png

As for mods, it's worth the initial trouble :)

i usually have to do my first playthrough vanilla before i start adding things, the exception being skin/body texture/mesh tweeks (as those can usually do with some work right off the bat).

Or bugs, like the killshot perk :P

Or features desperately needed - like placing stuff in the red zones during building - I wouldn't have been able to fix my roof otherwise. The building system is decent for building fresh structures, but renovations... a real pain with vanilla restrictions.

Or weapon holsters - so waiting for that mod or patch...

Or legendary weapon crafting, so saves the grind.

Plenty of excuses to mod :D

BTW guys, if you haven't already, you should try melee combat in FO4, use power attack/bash instead of standard attack to do some pretty sweet moves on other humanoids, like tripping them over on their butt, grabbing them then slamming them headfirst on the ground, finishing moves etc. Saves ammo too, I just upped by STR to 6 after realising how cool it is!

Bad news guys:

http://www.extremete...s-but-at-a-cost

Original-vs-Updated-640x333.jpg

Lucky I didn't upgrade, I have no problems with Corvega, only in Boston... what the heck are they doing?

Anyway, based on experience with the engine, and no ini changes, the "fix" looks like they disabled shadow casting on the lights in the level itself, so only way to fix it is using the GECK when it comes out. Unless someone is brave enough to go to FO4edit, find the exact light sources the patch tweaked and reenable shadow casting.

What they need is a patch to further optimise the CPU performance and draw calls as that's what causing the spikes not just in Corvega plant (and for me it's not much of a drop compared to Boston).

I'm hoping either FFXV or Firefly Online are my GOTY 2016- after modded FO4 of course!

I thought that the ENBoost mod did higher res textures as well as framerate and such Jackal? I've only had two stutter moments and one CTD so far so I'm not willing to jeapordise what is a solid game for me during the first playthrough. Once I'm done with the story I'll hit up the mods though.

I'm looking forward to seeing the graphic mods, even though it's already a gorgeous looking game.

Why they wasted the Danse model by making him perm-power armoured is beyond me!

And really Bethesda?

ENBboost allows for higher res textures to be streamed in by optimising the game's usage of VRAM and system RAM. It solves the "texture pop-in" problem by allowing <4GB cards to render just like a 4GB card - at the cost of additional RAM usage. I have 8GB and it works fine so... The high-res textures themselves need to be downloaded seperately.

The game is very stable for me too, and this is with alt-tabbing in and out of the game + using ENBboost. Hence I'm being very careful. My problem is the CPU bottleneck in Boston CBD, especially after the USS constitution quest, like drops to 1FPS for 1-3 seconds. Very annoying during heavy combat. I'm considering an upgrade but as my computer is 4 yrs old, I'll need a major one, at least a CPU+motherboard combo. I7s are rather expensive really, been looking at the FX9590 as well.

Shame as TW3 runs perfectly for me, the engine is just superior to Gamebyro in every way except for moddability.

Just a note too Luna, getting a romanced Danse to be a useful companion late game can be very tricky. I'm not normally one for spoilers but after you get to the point of the game where there will start to be points of no return, give me a buzz and I'll tell you how to keep Danse going in your playthrough.

He even tried to run to the bathroom and away from me cruelly dressing him up, but I caught him!

Ahahahahaha! :D  :P

Love your work Jackal, love your work- but you have to open the showlooks menu and clean his face up too lol!

Thanks for the coaching offer- I'll take you up on that and save myself some reloading lol! Did you lose him or have you seen the guides that spoiled me? What I mean is- are you dressing him up to salve a broken heart? :D Where did you get the second outfit anyway? That looks like a Skyrim outfit!

I agreed to do a 'clean up' job last night and Danse did not like that- apparently we aren't for hire on his watch. So I dutifully reloaded and refused the dirty work- only to have him not like me later when I was talking to Hancock and didn't take the overtly judgmental option regarding drug use. I didn't reload for that one... I figure one one hurt my cause. He's such a Kaden lol!

Heh I should but I'm afraid of messing everything up with the showlooks menu.

As for Danse's problems... well, first time I tried, he no longer responded to me because of the choices I made in the main quest, so I had to reload, and even after that, Danse became more of a liability than an asset due to erm... *spoiler*, but I plan on fixing it post end-game with a buggy mod which modifies the script. But the mod author recommended I max affinities with other companions first because that's the main bug of his mod.

Would be fine... if Strong isn't so hard to befriend... *picks a lock*.... *Strong dislikes that*... grrr!

Danse and my character is the story that just seems to "fit" with me. Hancock is a ghoul, my lady can do better than that - no offense to ghouls! McCready is... meh, Preston gets too emo... so Danse simply is the best romance option storywise, especially when much of it is tied into the BOS and main questlines unlike the others (which also makes it tricky to get right). I'm trying to get a happily ever after ending, or some variation of it. The crap my poor lady goes through...

The second outfit is the Grognak costume found in Hubris Comics in the middle of Boston, in between Diamond City and Goodneighbor :)

What you really mean is - power armourless Danse is ALL the awesomes, right? :P

I'll definitely be htting you up for the inside track as the story progresses - your character can be Jayden's wing woman lol!

Heh it does make more sense for him out of power armor at late-game. Besides how is my character supposed to get some loving while Danse is always in PA? lol

Besides my character is not using PA much recently, she's fixing up her one weakness; close combat. Before she was always at range, now she's a powerhouse in both, charging into combat with a bayoneted SMG or shotgun, picking up enemies and throwing them head-first into the ground, tripping them on their ass, and most of these moves seem to be only for when you are on foot - though not sure.

Total bad ass with her full black "stealth suit" as well ;)

But yeah, definitely give me a buzz, especially considering the way you play, I bet you're going to lose ALOT of playtime without a headsup with Danse.

Haha well, you are taking your time :P (Which is great!)

Just that I can only imagine you playing for hours only to make a terrible mistake with unavoidable consequences and having to backtrack a week's gameplay. I can't say more until you reach your *target* - you know where you are headed. That's the safe point to discuss "how to not ruin your romance with Danse" :)

The game has surprises in every corner, like recently I walked into a building expecting just a few things inside... turned out to be a whole freakin' hidden vault!!! Plot-wise... it's also the same, hence I'm very careful what I say when praising the game.
