I have FO4 for PC now and I can actually run it on medium settings on the laptop!  yay!   Now, I know what people were saying about Corvega factory and the ridiculous lag there.  Everywhere else seems to run fine but the factory sucked.

P.S  In some ways, I'm glad Bethesda used the old engine.  If they hadn't , it's very possible that I wouldn't have been able to run the game.   :)

Only using a few mods..  some optimized landscape textures, lowered weapons mod , and simple intersection mod.

For some reason I never got much lag in Corvega, then again godrays are disabled/shadow at medium.

Try Boston CBD around goodneighbor, only i7s seem to be able to run that place smoothly without hitches. I'm not happy with the engine myself, especially comparing its performance/quality compared to the RED3 engine.

Still, moddability...

Yay for Peregrinus and the enchanted laptop of joy! :D I never had any lag issues in Corvega either...my godrays have been auto set to medium, but the game has been optimised via GeForce Experience. I'm also starting to think that splurging on the i7 when I got the pc 12 months ago was a really good idea, it hurt at the time though lol!

Be honest Peregrinus, the chance to get Danse out of his gear is what made you get it on PC, wasn't it?

@Lunafancy  lol  I'm not sure if I'm going to even use Danse.   Just nice to be able to tinker settings and have the option to use mods if I want to.  Half the fun is in experimenting.   :)

The game definitely seems to be optimized for Geforce yet once again.

Headsup!

http://www.nexusmods...ut4/mods/5787/?

Now that's just awesome!

The mods are starting to gain serious momentum lately, heck, they even managed to figure out modding meshes already. Always the body modders who cracks it first lol

Hell at this rate it's entirely possible that I go on the nexus one day very soon and find a "weapons on back" mod before GECK comes out!

Sure you won't use him Peregrinus, sure... LOL! :P

I'm glad you can run it though, it just wasn't right, you being left out of the mods party!  :D

Jackal, I really want the weapon on back mod too now lol! I blame you!

Okay, just terminated my session at 10.30 pm... OMFG! The Freedom Road. What an utterly purgatorial endeavour following it is!!!! I swear if I stayed any longer I'd be driven to do violence- and not of the video game variety lol! I am actually glad I went nuts and bought the collectors edition Primo guide now because it has a fold out map.

Tomorrow though, hours and hours before bedtime preferably.

Yeah Peregrinus is no longer gaming like a peasant :) lol

Hell what I would do if only my sniper rifle is on my back, would be cool if multiple weapons were holsterable too like in the "armed to the teeth" mod in Skyrim. Pistol on the hip, sniper rifle on back, perfection!

Would be even better if it incorporates the physics system demonstrated in some of the outfits - might even solve potential clipping issues using physics.

Gotta agree with the both of ya.. I think the weapon on back is really needed.

using the following mods:

faster terminal displays

fr4nsson's light tweaks with bloom disable

improved maps with visible roads

j01's grass performance improved 1k

lowered weapons 1.1

vanilla optimized actors, armor, clothing, terrain objects

sunglasses/gas mask retexture by castell

simple intersection

towbie's realistic weapon sounds

vivid fallout rocks 1k

eyes of beauty

water enhancement textures

mo betta scraps

simple bug fixes

The game looks better without bloom and the fake lights.  You were right, GODzilla!

I'm using:

Vivid landscapes

ENBBoost

Daisy Nukes shorts

Killshot fix

Legendary Modification

Craftable armor size

Realistic ragdoll force (highly recommended, no more launching enemies across the map with a 10mm round!)

Hide pipboy (on and off)

Eyes of beauty

Wow, you're already using more mods than me haha!

BTW, now that they figured out meshes... check this out lol!

So, what is the best way to deal with super mutant suiciders when not in power armor?

Explode with them?

I snipe them, as does my trusty sidekick Danse. Unless they get the drop on me that is, in which case- see above. :)

And are you really surprised that Mod Senasai is using so many Jackal lol! I'm not, in fact I'm a little disappointed Peregrinus, it seems slumming it with the peasants has made you rusty...

@Lunafancy  lol   Ya, pretty rusty indeed but FO4 doesn't seem to really need a lot of mods at the moment.  It's definitely the most stable Fallout from Bethesda.. I think I've crashed once in 26 hours or so of play.

As for the super mutant problem,  it's a group of 7 and the one suicider.  Mines don't stop them and I can't track him fast enough before he gets too close to get the shot with my rifle.  grrr.

Ahhh, this is exactly the situation Danse-out-of-armour excels in Peregrinus- he's like a super Boone, I kid you not. He snipes the SM like a legend he does. :) Where are you?

Also- grenades are great, as is snipe and move then snipe again. But frag grenades are good.

So, what is the best way to deal with super mutant suiciders when not in power armor?

Aim for the right arm using vats, if its a low percentage shot, use a critical shot.

They are just so much fun especially when they are surrounded by their allies... one bullet... kills five super mutants :D

If they are alone though, might as well shoot them in the head and loot a free mini-nuke!

And yeah Danse is a beast, hell probably the only companion that can keep up with my character's killing sprees. He does tons of damage, has good accuracy and stays alive.

After a while though its nice to go solo for a bit, have fun messing with enemies using stealth.

I've parked Danse in Sanctuary while I head off to do the Railroad stuff and I miss him already! :) Deacon's pretty cool though so I just have to remember he won't pick up my slack like Danse and keep the stimpaks at the ready. :)

Hilarious Danse moment on the last run we did, we're creeping around in the equally creepy house of horror that is Pickman Gallery and he says something along the lines of " A place like this would terrify most people, but thanks to my training wit- Shhh! Did you hear that?" lol! it was voiced beautifully and cracked me up because he isn't exactly known for his comedic relief ... have I mentioned missing him already?

Took a couple of nice screenshots tonight too.

And Jayden is still doing his scrapbook of memories tour lol!

Yeah... Danse is overpowered when comparing him to other companions... makes everyone else cannon fodder or pack mules.

BTW once you give a companion a new home, there's no way to get them to go back to their original home I found. Only way to avoid this is by tabbing out of the "choose destination" menu, where they will go to their last home. Needs to be a fix for this...

Agreed. Plus Diamond City is not even a valid destination, I guess this is an oversight. Should be made a sattlement that counts as follower destination and as a valid station to connect to your caravans. Because of the very central position I've more stuff horded there than in Sanctuary. ^^

Guess at one point I will have to overload my inventory with all the stuff, limb outside town and call a Vertibird to ship it all to Sanctuary...

You guys know god mode gives you unlimited carry- inclusive of fast travel right? The vertibird thing is for immersion I guess? When I find a place to settle I plan on tgm and doing the move in one hit myself.

Guys...get your pitchforks! :D

I never cheat. And I never quicktravel. How do you think I got to those 600 hours of Skyrim lol. ^^

And yes you got the right hunch. IMMERSION™ =]

Meh, I have too many real life hassles that can't be avoided to inflict them on myself in a game. Sometimes I run overland to get places, other times I just want to do the quest without spending forever getting there. No less immersive for me, just different.

You can call it cheating if you like, in a single player game I call it playing the way you want. After all it is my game, right?

And just to make you turn red- when I pick up too much stuff out in the world and can't be bothered working out what to ditch? I go into god mode to finish the quest and get home to empty my pockets!

Heaven forfend! :o

The vertibird replaces fast travel for me :)

Aerial removalists!

I do fast travel from time to time though, depending... but I found TGM gives me infinite loading screens or crashes from time to time so I avoid it.

BTW there's a nice central location where I've interconnected all my settlements to; Hangman's Alley, just a bit of a walk northwards from Diamond City.

I have these "hubs" where I put all the traders in, and where I hook up supply lines. They are Starpoint Drive In, Hangsman's Alley, Jamaica Plain, Bunker Hill, County Crossing. Good central locations to stash your junk.

That's so woerd- I have no probs at all with the god mode... do you think it's the i7 or that the game is heavily wirghted towards Nvidia?

I haven't tried to work out the supply lines yet, I'm thinking I'll save building the settlements and trading stuff for after the main quest. Plus, playing on normal I don't find there is any shortage of items to scrounge so trading has been unnecessary so far.

To be honest, the vertibirds are alongside the power armour in terms of undesirability for me so I only use them if I have to go to the Pyrdwinn lol! I do wish we could ride the motorcycles you come across though!

It could be because I've tweaked the inis/enbboost to maximise my performance on my 4yr old CPU which I've decided to upgrade soon. If it's any other game, yeah whatever, but it's a Bethesda game with graphical overhaul mods coming soon... nah, it just demands an upgrade. I broke tradition after Skyrim, which ultimately I was disappointed with on release. Didn't expect Bethesda to impress me this year however, they did a fantastic job with a very stable release.

Perfect time for an upgrade. Only thing I regret is not budgeting this sooner.

Supply lines are pretty simple, just get the "local leader" perk under Charisma, then go to workshop, put your mouse over a settler, and below should tell you the key to press to establish a supply line. Then choose the destination and walla! You now can stash your junk everywhere and access it anywhere. Very convenient for crafting.

Vertibirds are my dreams come true in FO4. Though that dream was already somewhat forfilled in FNV with the Vertibird mod (it's incredible BTW, fully functional flying), doing a power armor drop in FO4 just blows it all away for me.

Agree with vehicles and motorbikes though, we have vertibirds but not even a bicycle? There will be a mod however, so not to fear :) FNV had one already.
