It's fast enough!!! lol

I7s are powerful CPUs, and Gamebyro is a very cpu-dependent engine.

And yes the "5th" ending, that's my canon ending :P

(and it's in the message I sent you how to get it and keep Danse)

I couldn't accept the other endings... too painful for me, no matter how I tried to justify it in my head.

Ah, cool- I thought it might be the ending you sent. I hear you on the others, mind you it would all be simpler if I just blundered through to whatever random ending I hit on. It's so very, very complicated trying to get the right one!

They've been a bit brutal with the endings, haven't they?

Very brutal but honestly that's why I rank the story as Bethesda's best, it challenges you plotwise, it gives you ALOT to think about and ponder on, yet holds true to the message of the FO series. I've never felt torn apart in my decisions in a Bethesda game before.

Not something I expected from them - normally their questlines are very straight-forward and... admittedly, dull.

Oh btw guys, just found out that 1 vegetable starch (cooked item) = 5 adhesive

So if you have set up farms growing corn/tatos/etc you should be generating enough day by day to have a supply of adhesive whenever you need it - without having to scavenge.

So more crafting! :D

Weeeelllllll.... curiosity doesn't just kill cats it seems, lone survivors find it lethal too. :D Trudging on my merry way to sort out something that's been giving some settlers a hard time Danse (*sigh* it's so good to have him back, Deacon is cool and all but he's no Paladin) and I come across a few new areas - serious, 100+hrs in and I'm still turning up new places, this game is awesome!- one of which seems intriguing...Gunners Plaza sound fun, right? I thought so and being the budding investigator type I open the doors... to a groundhog day of death and dismemberment!!!

I honestly lost track of how many times and ways I saw poor Jayden be blown to pieces before I decided to call it quits and come back there in about five levels lol! And then he died messily many more times on the retreat. Though I did manage to snipe the cow who killed me on the respawn and nicked her fatman to use on the group that cut off my escape on the spawn before that one. The revenge was gruesome and satisfying. This was after I died several messy times in a hospital where the Mr Handy Nurses had turned to the dark side...

Still haven't made it to Jamaica Plain, but I've decided to do the recon on the return journeys from now on. Lesson Learned.

Haha yeah that place is tough. There's alot of them inside too. It's an area where you might want to wear your power armor :P

I did it before on foot but it's tricky - bring LOTS of ammo, grenades and mines, there's a TON of them inside, charge in and hug the wall so the fatman guy/girl can't hit you, then sprint from wall to wall. Once inside use lots of explosives so their numbers play against them. If you think that's hard try further south at Quincy, gunners are toughest when they have assaultrons, but worse - Assaultron Dominators - they STEALTH! So you can't target their legs on VATs (my usual tactic)

Yeah I got stuck inside... getting out was decidedly unfun lol! Killed the fatman chick though...hope she doesn't respawn when I go back!

Right now I am on my way back from Jamaica Plain, skirted Gunners Plaza this time but it doesn't matter apparently for there is this charming little oasis called Cutler's Bend.

Suffice to say Mirelurk Kings are not my current favourites among the wasteland wildlife lol!

Death becomes Jayden, which is a good thing since the man seems to experience a lot of it haha!

Heh she'll probably respawn and bring a friend :P hahaha

Normally if I run into an area where I'm forced to retreat, I go back home, get into my power armor, call a vertibird and do a freakin power armor drop on them with an explosive minigun or gatling laser... and maybe a fatman or missile launcher for the mix. My lady isn't one to let her enemies gloat about their victory!

Lol! Oh we'll go back for them, just after I've finished the mission I'm doing lol!

Mirelurk Kings do not like Fatmans... :D

For mirelurks I have 2 legendary leg armors both with +10% movement speed so they can't get me hehe :P

Fatman explosions are always satisfying - when you are not on the recieving end!

Oh btw guys, especially folks playing female characters, looks like CBBE is out, nexus front page is now full of bewbies, bodysliders and other private details of the feminine form. :D

I don't actually mind the vanilla body, the wasteland is too hostile to run around naked too IMO, unlike Skyrim. But hands and feet surely needed work! There's non-nude options and the vanilla body shape available too - but with the detailed hands and feet. Clothes can be made to fit using the bodyslider as well, overall a very good release by Caliente.

Sorry Luna, looks like you still have to wait for nudie men, but Caliente did mention she wants to do males at some point :) Ladies first as the saying goes haha

Hell if they can master the meshes now, it's only a matter of time before the guns on back mod... but maybe I'm just hoping too much :(

Lol! I've already tweaked Danse to gorgeousness, if I get desperate enough he's pretty hot in his tighty whities anyway lol! Seriously though, I'm only half way through so at this rate I'll be lucky if I'm finished the vanilla run before Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen is out on pc.  I look at it this way, Dragon's Dogma is the fly in the ointment of my second play through so by the time I'm ready to do another run or play around with things post end game,  the creation kit mods will be out. I think I am hanging out for weapons on back as much as you are now by the way- thanks for calling my attention to the lack.

And, I might add,  there are some very, very nice outfitting options for boys in the vanilla DD! I think one of the best things about DD is that you get to build not only the pc but also your personal pawn, it's extra fun right there. I am so looking forward to that game... I really am.

I started over with a new character.   I'm gonna stop playing around with mods for now and start actually playing.

I actually hate using heavy weapons in Fallout but especially more so in 4.  They weigh too much and are cumbersome to use.

Haha not a session goes by that I don't wish that there's guns on back. It's the most NEEDED mod in my opinion. Though I'm also hoping Bethesda releases a patch that does it, saves modders the work! They put in mounted combat in Skyrim they should be able to do this for FO4.

As for heavy weapons I only use them in power armor, besides my strength is so low my character can't carry much on her own! Most of the time she only carries 3-4 weapons, a knuckle duster for melee, pistol, sniper rifle (signature weapon), and depending on ammo/circumstance; an automatic SMG or shotgun for charging in.

Happy holidays guys. Still addicted to skyrim, and poe. Been tweaking skyrim's loadorder over and over again. Finally I have a fairly stable one. Finished the Reno on the floor & bathroom on my place. That's about it on my end, as to what's new.

I agree on the heavy weapons thing Peregrinus- I make Danse carry the fatman for emergencies, I do rather fancy it under the right conditions... like a pair of Mirelurk Kings- seriously, WHAT are they spitting on me? o.O

Jackal, I am about to finish the *ahem* I feel the pressure to choose wisely descending upon me already. And...will I get the Blind Betrayal mission now I've used the minutemen to build the *ahem*? I'm thinking of heading over to do some more BOS quests to see if it triggers before I start up the *ahem*.

@Lunafancy  At this point, I'm trying to figure out what enemy I hate the most.  :)   Sentry bot is in the lead.  Deathclaws and radscorpions don't bother me too much anymore.

Haha! I had a run in with a Legendary Radscorpian that will give me nightmares forever lol! And I hat those Glowing One ghouls... and I met a rabid molerat queen who was less than fun last night... but honestly? Bloodbugs. I hate bloodbugs the most. Hard to draw a bead on them from a safe distance, flitty buggers that they are, then they get too close and you're too busy owing and trying not to die to take aim haha!

Well guys, looks like my FO4 days are over for now...

Last night a power surge zapped through my PC and caused a loud spark with an explosive sound. After restoring power to the house, PC wouldn't turn on, wasn't surprised. Changed the power supply today, fans were working but "no signal" on the monitor. So... either the video or motherboard is cooked as well. :(

I hope my hard disk is still intact as well... no idea, will have to test later.

A friend lent me a compact little machine, it's so puny, like a mini. I5-2400S 2.5Ghz with a HD5450.

Enough to last me until I budget in a new computer... *sigh* why couldn't it explode AFTER I get my new PC :(

Oh well... such is life

Errr... I never took that route... ack >.< Maybe... try it.

Oh noes Jackal! That's awful. You've finished the main story line though at least, right? I guess you'll be getting that i7 now then at least...silver lining? *insert weak smile* Just think if it had exploded after you got a new pc it might well have been the new pc that exploded... much better for things to go in this order I think.

I'm assuming you went the BOS route to build the *ahem* then? I'll dedicate tonight to doing BOS  missions only then see, apparently you need to build 8 settlements to be locked out so we shall see.

Heh... playing FO4 now will only make me weep, sob, and cry man-tears :(

No, can't put myself through that lol - will have to wait, I just got Civ 5 working so far, just going to install low-GPU games, at least I got something to kill time until I get my new PC. I have finished FO4, but... also, not finished... you know what I mean heh

Over the course of the next few days will have to test to see which components are still salvagable from the surge. I just got a UPS installed now so... learnt my lesson... ack! Heartbreaking though... the box has been with me for so many years, so many hours of gaming goodness, now it's sitting in a corner, open, broken and battered. *sniff*

Oh well, have to look on the plus side, now I HAVE to get a new PC, and as you said - better this one got zapped and not the new one! And the next time I load up FO4, it'll be 1440p at 60 FPS on ultra, going to play SC in the same fashion, and be set for another 4 or 5 years of gaming. And hopefully the guns on back mod/patch for FO4 will be out! Will start a new game, and cry tears of joy... *sniff*

As long as no other expenses come up should get a new top-end PC by end of Jan latest. Here's hoping.

@Luna

Yup, went the BOS route. I was actually planning to try another route but... *zap* :(

I went the BOS route then switched to the minutemen, so you may be able to do the same, but I'm not sure.

@Lunafancy  I take back what I said about Deathclaws. I ran into my first Legendary Deathclaw this evening and suffice to say..  It was unpleasant!  lol  I manage to kill it after I expended excessive amounts of fusion cells, 10 frag mines, and 2 bottlecap mines.

The refined mod list after much pain and experimentation.

Fallout settings:  game low settings with shadow distance lowered to 2500 from 3000.  SSAO : high FXAA : on

Mods:

All Radiant Quests Marked 1.1

Better Item Sorting

Companion infinite ammo

Darker Nights 1.10.4

Fogout v6

Faster Terminal Displays

Fr4sson's Light Tweaks v1.6

Improved maps with visible roads - darker - grid

Lowered Weapons 1.1

Mo Betta Scrap

My HUD

Patrolman sunglasses retexture by Castroll

Quieter Settlements

Realistic Ragdoll Force - Action

Simple Bug Fixes

Simple Intersection

Eyes of Beauty Fallout Edition

True Storms - Wasteland Edition 1.31

Vivid Landscapes 1k

no dotdotdot

This setup runs great and looks good.   It still doesn't help some of the cityscape areas that are just densely populated but most indoors and smaller towns run flawless.  True Storms and wet materials  didn't get along and that's what crashed me previously.  The game truly is better with True Storms activated.

It's only Boston city that kills my performance too, especially if you try a vertibird drop in Boston Commons in the midst of a battle going on in there. As for deathclaws, use VATS and aim for the legs. My pistol is +50% limb damage and pistols use very little AP in VATs. Just injure 1 leg and you're set.

Speaking of which... where's that hobbler perk? :( It was in FO3/NV

I'm keeping an eye on True Storms now that you mentioned it uses less resources than vanilla weathers.

BTW guys, I returned my friend's PC cause he got something better - a spare AM3+ motherboard :D

So yeah, got my PC working now lol (very lucky everything else works!), thought I had to forget about FO4 for a while but looks like I'm back in the game!!! Hoorah!
