Set my ugrids to 3 and exterior cell to 24. I should have done this from the start. The game is much much smoother now with almost no difference in appearance.

Heh yeah, it felt off wearing it ingame, it's more a costume to add to my collection.
I use craftable armor sizes and legendary modifications in my mod setup
So you can keep your favorite pieces and upgrade them - or even add new legendary mods. The mods are balanced too; very expensive upgrades and it blends with the game's pace IMO
[...]
I dunno...the game is about exploration and finding stuff. When you find something good you hold on to it and look forward to finding something better. Crafting the stuff feels too easy to me. You say it's expensive, but neither money nor material are a problem in this game.
I think I'm gonna pass, but thanks for the hint. ![]()

True, I guess for me I get too frustrated finding constantly crappy legendary items and decide "ah hell I'll just make one" lol
@Peregrinus
That works?! You are very brave! I've never played a Bethesda game on ugrids on 3

My most valued food production source: Greygarden

Produces 31 food (and the robots don't need it, so I connected it to Sanctuary as kinda "food source")...and has a defense rating of 50. But how, who are the weapons, you may ask? Right here....

Two medium generators sit in that bus (there's room for one more) and two searchlights, two rocket launchers and two MG turrets mk2 keep a watchfull eye from above. ![]()
I noticed that the building area is even so big that I could control the other side of the highway, where there is a main road below. This settlement has huge potential and I will definitely consider to extend it in the future. ^^

Heh yeah, you can actually build right up on the top of the highway. There's a craftable elevator mod out now too:

@GODzilla Very nice defensive setup!
I did not know those things had that kind of range.
@Jackal Ya, less load on the CPU so it helps quite a bit. I didn't know if it would work since I've only tried that on Skyrim.

Hehe, yeah, they...wait...they don't? WUÄÄÄÄHHHH!!! xD *runs back to Greygarden*
Honestly, I don't know. At least the rocket turrets should in theory have a pretty long range and I think the machinegun turrets do, too. Their accuracy will probably suffer though.

So, I have 9 sets of power armor now. I was curious on how many all of you have found so far, and where you parked them? I have 4 suits in Sanctuary, and 5 suits at the red rocket.. I'm thinking of moving them to the Castle.

One T-60 on the Prydwen, one T-45 (minutemen-style) in the castle and a mixed X01 with T-60 parts in Diamond City. I'm not that fond of power armor, I use it when I have to, for instance in major battles. That upgraded T-45 in minutemen colors was used to liberate the castle for instance. ![]()
Lately I've been upgrading my armorsmith perks...that T-45 is in for a treat. I like it the most, since it is not that massive.

@GODzilla I did purchase the home in Diamond City but it's disappointing I can't attach my supply line to it. You need a lot of parts to upgrade power armor so I really don't like keeping one there.

Agreed. It made sense before because I did not posses the ability to connect my settlements and did not have the castle. Diamond city was in the center of the map and since I don't quick travel it was the obvious choice for putting the majority of my stuff.
Now however...I will jump into that frankenstein power armor, load ALL the junk (I will most definitely be overburdenes even with the power armor and even after I upgrade the legs to offer a carry weight bonus), tiptoe out of the city...and call me an air taxi to Sanctuary. ![]()
Second part of the plan: Connecting the castle to Sanctuary, which is already connected to Abernathy farm and Greygarden. ^^ A few other settlements will be included soon.
I was sceptical at first, thought I needed to invest too much time in building with the clumsy menus, but it's actually not that difficult. The only two places I really built were Sanctuary and the castle, all the other small settlements got their defense upgraded. And now that I connect them all it really feels as if making a difference in the Commonwealth as a whole. ![]()

@GODzilla I feel the controls are pretty clumsy for settlements but once you get a handle on it, it's not too bad.
I currently have about 16 settlements all connected. I focus on food, water, sleeping bags, and turrets. Only place that looks like home is Sanctuary. Every other settlement looks like a homeless shelter. lol

Sanctuary is home, the castle is...well...a castle. A fortrett. I fixed the wall, the front got a gate + metal fences, the rear a defensive stand and fences. The laser turrets from the armory are placed around the radio station as some kind of point-defense for the inner yard. The outside is defended by machinegun turrets mkII (to be upgraded later on, once connected via supply line ^^) and I installed a few of those static flood lights and of course two pieces of artillery. It'll be 4 in the end, of course.
More beds, own food in the yard...
Say, about food: The only thing that is getting shared via supply line is in reality just the gear inventory, isn't it? I mean it's a nice idea to connect a hub of trade or food to a settlement that could need it and I do it for roleplaying purposes, but it doesn't actually work this way, or did I miss something? ![]()

@GODzilla I do get quite a bit of food and other things through the scavenging stations. I set up 2 per settlement and it hauls in a lot of random stuff.
I moved all of my power armor to Sanctuary and place them around a artillery piece.
#6242
Posté 02 janvier 2016 - 12:01
I already have two artillery at Sanctuary and one at The Slog. I will probably not be able to cover the whole map with fire support (I wish there was a way to see their range), because I'd only consider placing them in settlements large enough.

Heh we have a similar playstyle, I have mostly power frames that I store in a shed in Sanctuary, think there's 6 of them now, then 1 BOS T-60 suit in the Prydwen, bay 3 is like, its home. 1 Minutemen T-45 at the castle, 1 hot rodder T-51 suit at Hangman's Alley, then either at Red Rocket or Kingston Lighthouse I have my 1 Shark X-01, 1 Atom Cat T-60, and another spare 1 T-60 suit and 1 T-51 suit for companions.
So 13 suits total heh, loads of power armor pieces in a chest too.
The main use of food I found for me is vegetable starch as it's adhesive. Saves you spending 1000+ caps for 25 adhesive off merchants. Helps alot when you do alot of crafting, especially on power armors.

Just don't expect animations, leave it to your imagination - bethesda is too scared to be like bioware or CDPR in romance.

Haha! The GECK will give me visuals... maybe...lol!
Thing is- he's stuck at 999 and for some reason has sprouted a set of power armour he won't get out of lol! It could only happen to me!
Can you believe it- no romance dialogue after all that! *smh*
Not sure if I should reload or not now...
Just looked at the clock and it's 12.40 am here hahaha! Right. Sleep deprivation and everything and I still can't romance him!

Hahaha Danse is the most difficult companion to romance, not only does he force you to go slow thanks to his romance options unlocked at mid-late game, he's also easy to lose depending on your choices in the main story, and he's always in power armor and console commanding him out is glitchy... AND after you romanced him and did all that, using him as a companion late-game...
