Well, they do say it springs eternal Peregrinus lol! Fingers crossed ours is rewarded!
FO4 Far Horizons is out soon.. the water creatures sound like fun but I think I'll play through the ME trilogy first. I feel like I'm craving an engrossing story and FO4 just didn't deliver that in the end.

@LunaFancy I do somewhat agree with you on the ending but Fallout usually doesn't have a clear ending. The adventure continues through mods and expansions as it did with Skyrim, and Oblivion. It's good and bad how they do that.
I'm going through ME3 right now with fresh eyes and I realized that the game feels fairly generic unless you import a save from ME2. Without that save file, you don't get to see a lot of the cameos and old characters..

I haven't got to the FO4 ending- I lost interest because the characters were pretty blah and I felt no connection to what I was meant to be saving really. Once there are mods that make the settlement building tolerable for me I'll jump back in and finish it so I can do the DLC and tool around but I'm talking about the story itself really, in its entirety.
I guess it just didn't do it for me- we're forced into a linear path then it just fizzles to nothing much at all really, I mean there's nothing really compelling about any of the endings for me. I just don't really care?
I dunno, Skyrim never held my attention either, I think I'm just not a Bethesda person maybe?
I actually got ME3 first, but when I started playing it I was like 'Nope. I need to start this at the beginning.' so I went and bought the first two. So I guess I see where you're coming from, even though I only played maybe half an hour before I made that decision- which pretty much proves your point, doesn't it? ![]()

@Lunafancy You are not alone. A lot of people don't finish Bethesda games. I have a tendency to beat them once before I start modding it. Most don't finish due to it's length which is funny since most complain games are too short.

Well, to be fair, I would have finished FO4 if DDDA hadn't come out just before I did the Battle for Bunker Hill... but it did and I had to play it straight away and now I'm a bit 'meh' over finishing FO4 because I don't really care enough about the actual ending to be bothered with it right now. Maybe after I play through the ME trilogy I'll be in the mood for finishing it and doing the DLCs and playing with mods. But I don't know, I think I like more point to a game than Bethesda provides... yes that's right, I like a more linear story in an RPG.
I would have been all over the settlements thing if it wasn't so annoying to use...
Meanwhile I'm a bit crushed that FFXV is now not coming to PC anytime soon... I was looking forward to that one!

Been playing FO4 again with the weapons on back mods and survival mode (with mods that allow quicksave and normalised the damage). This was the game I was hoping FO4 would become, and the modders didn't let me down, and I reckon overall Bethesda did a good job with the patches, the game runs flawless now and overall survival mode is pretty sweet.
Really feel like a badass with my pistol on my hip and sniper rifle on my back, amazing what these small touches can do - to make a huge difference.

Do the loading screens still rival DA:I Jackal? The patches brought never-ending loading screens to me-the last time I jumped on I was glad I had my kindle on hand for the loading screens lol! They weren't too bad at all before the patch and the frame rate started playing up a bit for me too after patches so I'm not a fan.
I see that there are some good settlement mods now so that's a bonus, but nothing can change the fact that I lost interest in the story around the halfway mark I'm afraid. I mean, I was almost done when DDDA hit and it was easy to walk away... definitely a story fail for me. Still, the weapons on back and the settlement mods might make for an interesting Post-Apocalypse Simulator down the track. ![]()
Far Harbour looks like it might be interesting as well- if I hadn't started ME it would be enough to get me to finish the game now, but it'll have to wait til after Mass Effect now.
I blame the kid really, if they hadn't forced a kid on us I would have enjoyed the story more but as it was, there was a disconnect from the start for me.

@Lunafancy I found myself agreeing with you again. There wasn't any emotional attachment with child. Maybe, they should have kept said child as an older child, not man.
PS : I kinda gave up on settlements. It just felt irrelevant if you kept up on them or not.

Yeah I noticed the huge jump in loading times in previous patches, entering and then exiting back into the wilderness took ages, but now though I find it quite acceptable with the latest patch, performance wise it's the smoothest and fastest its ever been for me.
There's another mod I'm keeping an eye on - 3rd person cover system. It's still in experimental stages but it's so needed for me. I'm always forced to switch to 1st person to have any kind of competitiveness in combat.

Are you using Visible Weapons mod Jackal? (Yes, you've inspired me to go and investigate my options lol! I'm so easily led...)
I have enabled modding now, thanks to a vid by Gopher (would never have realised I had to do anything to the ini files without him) and went off to find a weapons on back mod... but apparently it won't work on the games weapons and I need to download meshes made to be apparel? Odd and seems a bit circuitous what with the linking required but if that's the only way to do it and all...
What other mods are you using that you'd recommend Jackal?

Yes I'm using Visible Weapons, this is the base mod with the script. http://www.nexusmods...t4/mods/10317/?
Then I have Just Holstered Weapons from here: http://www.nexusmods...t4/mods/11662/?
And also Armorsmith Extended here: http://www.nexusmods...ut4/mods/2228/?
Armorsmith Extended has a fully modded out Sniper Rifle on back with a bipod found here:
http://www.nexusmods...ut4/mods/3059/?
Weaponsmith Extended is a WIP mod that also aims to add all vanilla weapons with different attachments but it's still WIP. Yes, the linking is the only way as of the moment, and you only need to link it once and that's it. I suggest using the "Always" holster mode as well.
I also recommend survival difficulty with all the hunger/thirst/sleep requirements, but for me I use these tweaks:
http://www.nexusmods...out4/mods/222/? - To reset the damage values to 1:1 instead of 0.25:2
http://www.nexusmods...t4/mods/11834/? - To reenable the console
http://www.nexusmods...t4/mods/12593/? - For quick save!
Other misc mods I'm using:
http://www.nexusmods...ut4/mods/6434/? - For when the armor clips with clothing using armorsmith extended
http://www.nexusmods...ut4/mods/2241/? - For longer power lines, nuff said
http://www.nexusmods...ut4/mods/8126/? - Great hairstyles!!

@Jackal Visible Weapons is pretty cool ! Works really well with the holstered weapons. That covers pretty much all of the vanilla weapons.

Dealing with inner ear infection that caused me to lose almost all of my hearing. I have 25% back, thanks to some antibiotics and eardrops. It's not too bothersome that I can't hear well.. It's the ringing sound/nausea from having my equilibrium being screwed up. Won't be able to work on the project or do anything for more then 10-15 minutes at a time before I get dizzy.
P.S So, I somehow manage to get tears in my ear drums. It explains the constant ringing sound. I'm hoping there isn't permanent damage but it puts me out for a few weeks.

Damn, hopefully it'll clear up soon, need sound in games too!
BTW another recommendation:

(Works with vanilla body too)
Finally I get my Chinese stealth suit with my rifle on back and pistol on hip!

Have had a rough time with my back so been out of the loop. But I found The Technomancer for $42 AU at CDKeys so pre-ordered it today, release date is 28th and keys go out on the 21st.
Until then I'm trapped in a mine shaft in ME, pinned down by Geth and keep dying.

I hope it's good Peregrinus! I think it will be for what it is at any rate.
Llet's face it they aren't a AAA studio by any stretch of the imagination, but then the AAA studios aren't putting out stellar stuff these days anyway. I'm hoping for a nice RPG with a decent story and since they've confirmed there is same sex romance it looks like something I will enjoy while I wait (and hope) for ME:A. The staff combat looks fun!
I think I, like many others, are hopeful for a studio to pick up the ball Bioware dropped some time ago, and Spiders do seem to be pursuing that goal. If they keep being supported on their journey they might well crack the formula and I hope that Technomancer does just that.![]()
I went back into DDDA after a break the other night- I fogot that I hadn't done Bitterblack Island. So far nothing more exciting than a fleeting visit from Death and a few wolves have assaulted me. Looking forward to getting further in!

It's looking good Peregrinus! You must be chuffed with your progress so far. ![]()
Welp, I got my DDDA wish and ran into some awful beasties lol! Some snake thing in a chest kept chewing on me then spelling me to death for a while, which was fun. Eventually worked out to stand outside his spell range and blast him with thunderbolt arrows (yay for Magic Archer), then moved on to an enormous cyclops who also has nasty magic apparently lol. He's only killed me once s far but I have no doubt that number will go up after tonight haha!
Good times! I really do love this game.

I'm no help to you Invisible Man - I got stuck early on in POE and since I'd already decided I don't enjoy top down games by then I just uninstalled it. But hey, I can sympathise with getting stuck - I do that a lot in games lol! ![]()
Speaking of which, rather than face the spellcasting cyclops from hell again, last night I cracked oped FO4 using the McDreamy MacCready mod... hot damn! New lease of life. Sorry Danse, you can go set up house for us in Sanctuary Hills... I'm sure we'll make a fabulous threesome to rule the wasteland lol!
I'm just a bit annoyed at myself for not thinking of using the console to edit MacCready myself early on since his personality is a bit more vibrant than Danse's. Could have had him along for the ride all along if I didn't have to put up with his squinty rat face! I may finish the game yet!
I'm also toying with using the xbox controller mod on ME since the kb/m thing tends to annoy me, sitting in a recliner in front of the telly as I am. Don't s'pose any of you PC purists have tried it at any time? ![]()

I'd like to think it will help me with my current Geth predicament but I sadly doubt that much other than a reload will do that lol!
