Thanks Peregrinus! I can always count on you to help me out. :)

I'd  like to think it will help me with my current Geth predicament but I sadly doubt that much other than a reload will do that lol!

Overload works well on them.

Not sure anyone has Overload yet- I decided to so some side quests rather that go get Liara... I think I may have erred in that decision, we are a very low level lot right now and the enemies -  not so much.

We got canned at some remote Pirate outpost in the Pinnacle (I think) system earlier. I think I might do a bit more MQ progression then come back. I didn't really do many SQ in my first run through you see- thought I'd go for the full experience. And whilst chasing the monkey things around was fun, the being utterly destroyed by enemies you are clearly under-powered for is not so much fun. :)

@Lunafancy You really want Garrus and Wrex  when dealing with Geth.

I have Garrus and Kaiden because I... I mean Shepard,  <3 Kaiden. :D

I really think I'm just too low levelled for where I am at the moment- I took care of Geth in the stage appropriate missions just fine. I'll go and get Liara and maybe do Novaria before I try any more of the far flung side quests I think.

But I'm kind of enjoying this sexy MacCready thing now so it might be a little while. I'm pretty much just spinning my wheels til Technomancer atm... I figure I'll go back to ME after that maybe.

Fickle cow, aren't I? :D

ETA:

This just popped up on my FB feed, I know I should be skeptical but heh, caution to the wind... I'm getting hyped lol!

playing POE i can't seem to kill the big boss dragon in the endless paths (guess that makes it my arch nemesis)... well, not without cheating at least. fair & square i can usually bring the thing to something like less then half health (after about 30 minutes of fighting with most of my party out cold). most of the dragons i can handle... though i'll just have one person left standing at the end of said fight, usually. how bout' you guys? have any better luck then i at that particular beast?

Hey guys and gals,

Long time no see, will explain sometimes next week. Real life sometimes sucks.

@Invisible Man : you can use this technique : petrify (Gaze of the Adragan and other things) + full DPS when the beast is petrified.

To survive, avoid the first breath by positioning your party before the fight starts outside the range of said breath. Try to lure the adds ideally.

It's the hardest fight in the game, so use everything ; food, consumables, protection against nature or acid damage, traps, Paladin ability works well also...

Try to fix the fight with Paralysis (cypher/other classes have same abilities if I remember correctly) on the the adds and a warrior tank to engage the beast.

Thanx for the tips, usually i try to position my force to takeout those priests quickly, which isn't easy.

I'm also toying with using the xbox controller mod on ME since the kb/m thing tends to annoy me, sitting in a recliner in front of the telly as I am. Don't s'pose any of you PC purists have tried it at any time? ;)

i happen to be laying back in a recliner sitting in front of my pc, with keyboard & mouse... i happen to love it. i actually can't stand controllers most of the time, to inaccurate... especially for shooters.

---edit
or maybe i'm just too old to pickup new tricks, having been practically raised by one computer or another over the years.

---edit again

for me team selection is a combination of what does shepard bring to the party (sentinel/infiltrator/soldier... etc), what kind of opposition i can expect, and what can counter it. sometimes i might go with ash and tali when i'm up against geth, or kaiden and tali.

---edit again... yes i know... *sigh*

oh, and terrain, if i think there's a lot of cqb with geth units... tali is a must have (IMHO), tight spaces + ai hacking + shotguns = whole lotta fun.

Invisible Man I've had three reconstructions (two failed, one 'best we can do-deal with it')  on my right shoulder- kb/m in the recliner is unkind to that arm. :) Also I started on consoles so it's natural enough for me.

As for teams, I pick the personalities I like and deal with what I've got as a result lol! I'm not exactly hardcore in my gaming habits- but I have a blast!

@Lunafancy  Yeah, that's usually how I pick teams too.  lol   Not very ideal but I do that in all the RPGs.

PS:  I liked Mars War Logs so I imagine Technomancer is the upgraded version of that.

Yeah, what I've played so far of MWL is pretty decent for what it is- combat is a bit clunky but it looks like they've made considerable headway since then. They've done Bound By Flames since MWL and I haven't played it but the reviews are mixed.

They seem to be a studio with a vision in the process of Becoming, if you catch my drift. And I, for one, am heartily sick of the AAA studios at the moment and feel inclined to give them my money in the hopes that they might grow into something like the pre EA Bioware. Of course if they manage that EA will buy them and wreck them, but for a few games we can all be excited lol!

I'm hoping Technomancer is the onevthey get it right in- the voice acting seems better, and the writing as well. So fingers crossed!

I made it to Far Harbour last night in FO4 and was a bit keen to check it out further tonight- except my controller batteries are flat lol! Thank goodness I hadn't done the ME controller mod yet because at least I could manage that! So now my shoulder is killing me but I have made it past the Geth, thanks to a bit of tactics, and am on my way to picking up Liara.

An interesting devlopment is the fact I am quite enjoying the Mako this time round. I'm thinking the State of Decay YOSE  car has made it feel quite handleable by comparison lol! I'm also pretending Garrus is driving and paying him out every time we nearly crash lol! :D

Turns out it wasn't the batteries after all! Apparently Logitech hasn't put out a driver for the F710 controller since windows 7 so when I upgraded the gaming rig from 7 to 10 (oh yes, I did it) the damned thing couldn't talk to the pc. As usual google was my bestie and I found the fix- which weirdly is an xbox controller driver that must come with windows 10... anyway, it works so hooray! :)

i was checking in on the ME:A side of the forum again (curiosity and all) and... i think im turning into a fool, if i wasn't one already; for i find myself thinking/hoping bioware might turn into a trust worthy dev again, i know it's a pipe dream, but i guess i'm still hoping the original bioware from way-back-when is still in there somewhere, and i'm well aware that that particular bioware is long dead. though i hope the suits (either EA or biowares... assuming they're not one in the same that is) have figured out that if they don't hit the next few titles out of the fracking park they're not going to be around very much longer, though then again EA has sucked the marrow out of many once decent outfits, sending them into videogame oblivion, and ubisoft has been doing the same ****... and they're still here. *Sigh* i just can't win... can i?

I don't know if you watched the EA press conference 2016 but what they showed basically shows the end of Bioware as we knew them.  They still are not showing true gameplay this late in development so I can only guess that the frostbite engine is giving them problems once again.. I just noticed patch 11 for DAI on the update site.. *sigh*

You didn't miss much with the EA conference.  There was a promising third person Star Wars action adventure game briefly shown but that's about it.  There was however a lot to see in the Ubisoft and Sony conference.  Bethesda Softworks had the best one though.  All of them are worth watching except EA and Microsoft.

I'm wondering if the lack of gameplay footage is a combination of them reacting with extreme caution over the castigation resulting from showing us the DA:I  'alpha footage' and them thinking they are being clever and taking am leaf out of Bethesda's book of mystery ala FO4.

I don't think they quite grasp how deep the skepticism goes after their last two games.

Looking at the 'trailer' - if it can even be called a trailer- the thing that stands out to me is the character models...it's like they've taken the engine's potential for detail too far and ended up with a sort of hyperrealism effect, especially with the skin- it's quite unnerving. Uncanny Valley anyone?

My hope for ME:A fades....

Has anyone heard anything more on The Technomancer? The FB page is monotonously free of updates. Boo.

@Lunafancy  Sadly, I got excited for the Mako but that was about it!  lol

Sony had a lot of awesome stuff, and so did Ubisoft.

Bethesda showed me why I love PC gaming overall.

Oh, the exciting thing from Microsoft was their new S class controller.

Skyrim is 5 years old now and it's held up really well.  It's still one of the most beautiful looking games out thanks to modders.

i recently had the urge to play a pirate game (as in sailing, cannon fire, pillaging, etc.), and i was kind of sick of playing sid meier's pirates (my usual cure for said affliction), so i went looking for a sandboxy pirate rpg... picked up 2; spent like around 50 bucks. discovered the first (and oddly the one i want to play most) has starforce, that horrid monstrosity of a buggy virus like copy protection "thing". i recall once with windows vista (IIRC) where it renamed my hard drive from C: to D: -- as you can imagine that was... unpleasant. took me about 2 weeks just to figure out that's what went wrong, as i couldn't get past the initial boot sequence. so this is a game from back in 2006, so in all probability installing this title will wind up trashing my system, right? *sigh*

---edit
also, i guess i should note i'm going to go back into surgery in about 3 weeks, likely be about a one week recovery in the hospital, followed by about a month and a half to completely recoup after that. so i might be out of touch for a while. it's nothing too serious, i developed a massive surgical hernia from my last surgery, and it's about time to get that fixed.

i hope i'm wrong but... i think the closer mass effect 4's release date gets -- the dumber i become.
for i think ME:A might not be a lost cause (i just decided to checkout some e3 commentary regarding it) and it actually looks promising, at least form what i could gather. though if i start thinking preorder i think i'll give myself a lobotomy, perhaps even a lead one.

Been interested to get Warhammer Total War considering both sides of reviews have been positive, unfortunately I can't purchase anything at the moment since I moved house and using my mobile for wifi with only a 3Gig download cap.

Have to wait up to 2 weeks for my ADSL plan to get fixed, and knowing Steam it'll force me to download around ~8 gig the next time I go online on it... heck, it's crazy knowing how reliant games these days are to the internet...

Anyway not really feeling much hype these days for games, alot due to disappointments. ME:A I can say that the ME team didn't let me down, but having experienced Frostbite... I dunno... and EA is all about "mass markets" and "dumbed down games".

I reckon only FO4 and XCOM 2 got my hype meter up this year. Even Dragon's Dogma Luna had to talk me into it.

@Jackal   I feel your pain.  I have a 2 gb cap and a speed averaging around 2 mbps.  I found some gems in the GOG Summer sale that is going on.

Renowned Explorers International Society  https://www.gog.com/...owned_explorers

Necropolis Diabolical Dungeon Delve  https://www.gog.com/game/necropolis

Stories Path of Destinies  https://www.gog.com/...th_of_destinies

During breaks, I've been playing Grim Dawn & Darkest Dungeon.  You may like these.

I was on the PC Gamer Forums and someone was trying to tell me that the Frostbite engine was the most stable and reliable game engine to date. I laughed so hard.  There was a another person on there trying to convince me that Steam wasn't a DRM.

I don't know if you've noticed GOG Connect but you should check that out.  The possibility of transferring Steam games to GOG and it being completely DRM free brings me happy thoughts.

@Invisible Man I'm really hoping I'm wrong and Mass Effect Andromeda turns out amazing but the likelihood of that doesn't seem likely.   I'm also wondering if the new team worked out the kinks with making an RPG in Frostbite.

DAI is on it's 11th patch.  I think the team is running out of band aids.

I've been really sick for the last week so I'm out of the loop, but playing catch up...

Invisible man- you made me lol, because in my weaker moments that's exactly how I feel about ME:A. And then I remember DA:I and feel deflated. :D

Jackal- boo to internet issues! And seriously BOO to having to download everything these days as well. Also, I did good talking you into DDDA, awesome, awesome game right there. I say The Technomancer is quite possibly going to be another hidden gem as well...

Peregrinus, I fear you may be right about ME:A, but there is still a flicker of hope left in me...I'm quite sure EBware will stomp it out upon release though lol!

And for proof of how ill I've been - I missed the launch of the latest Technomancer gameplay trailer yesterday! Now that is better than a doctor's note right there lol!

I bring to you - what I will be doing on the 28th of June and beyond. :)

I promise to drag myself away to report on it sometime though...

ETA...

And it's not like I'm obsessed or anything, I mean I didn't do a happy dance when I found this...honest... BUT... advance copy real time gameplay  sneak peek! ...Oooh okay I lied before... *happy dance* lol!
