Different strokes for different folks I guess. 
I'm not a hardcore TES player by any means (never even finished Skyrim) so YMMV I guess but as far as MMORPG games go it's pretty great, imo. The quests are meaningful (so far, I'm still in the beginning) and there is a tonne of stuff to see/do/learn. And the playerbase is pretty friendly from what I've seen as well, having a potentially awesome guild at the start adds much value- those guys had me in stitches last night. I'm having a blast and that's pretty much all I care about lol!
You have my undying sympathy for the loss of your modem/router. As someone who was afflicted with mobile data only for two weeks recently all I can say is.... (((HUGS)))
