Morning.
What game would that be?
Oh, I nabbed this from the Eurogamer.. it's about Witcher 3.
At the centre of the studio's first next-gen title is, of course, a brand new technological underpinning: the home-built REDengine 3. Also set for use in its upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 project, major bullet-points for the engine include support for 64-bit precision high dynamic range, fully tessellated environments, and a streaming algorithm to permit a completely open-world game design. The Witcher 3's game world counts in at over 25 times the size of its predecessor's, and this freedom to roam in any direction is a series first. Now it's possible to scale mountains via an added jump move, swim underwater, travel by boat and also horse-ride from one end of the map to the other.
p.s. Witcher 2 was not small as environments go. :>

I don't even ![]()
Anyway, I haven't logged on to play the new patch yet. I've lost hope for any patched content. Just waiting to see what DLC plans they have for the game now.

Oh, you were gone for a long time :-)
You missed it
DLC will be for the consoles, not the PC

I tried to play the game today after the release of patch 3 (I've been too busy to try it earlier).
Holyyyy shite what happened?
I may be an isolated case, but I had just gotten my game running relatively well with the right amount of tweaking in the display settings and running on Mantle.
Now?
What on earth!?!?
Stutters like Churchill after one too many.
Numerous incidents of hitching in cutscenes.
Texture and model pop in (and out).
And so many things that should have been fixed by now that aren't (the elf arms, the qunari armour bug etc etc etc).
I'm just....absolutely baffled at this stage.
It's a big game, yes, and patching take time, yes (especially when a heap of the crew have moved on to developing ME4). But if these sorts of problems keep compounding the way they are it makes me livid to the point of utter confusion that the game was even released at all!
Time for Baldur's Gate I think...
sorry, I have been particularly grumpy today and needed to vent to a (hopefully) sympathetic crowd.

I'll keep writing and improving. I'll keep doing it if there is an audience. If anyone wants to take a piece of it at a time and correct lore or grammar, please do this. The more involved, the more motivated I am. It's a short story planned out that takes place just a few months after the Kirkwall rebellion. Inquisition and Origins have a decade apart with DA2 covering a few years after the blight. I am not sure how much time is between the Conclave and the Kirkwall chantry debacle. I am using that space of time because we already have the three stories already written by Bioware that we've experienced.

And that's pretty much correct, actually. Origin recommended a complete uninstall and reinstall. It's something about the patch that needs a full reboot.
