Totally worth the money.  You'll love it and it's pretty much bug free.

SR Dragonfall is a lot longer, with more sidequests, a 'better' setting within an 'anarchist'-Berlin ('flux state' or something in game setting), fully-fleshed companions, and the Remastered edition also provide a lot more fun in tactical combat.

I suggest starting on nightmare or hard if you played other tactical games before.

Plus you got modules and persistent worlds à la NW.

My GOTY :)

Downloading now :)

Just noticed Shadowrun Returns = 827 MB, Shadowrun Dragonfall = 1.6 GB heh

I noticed a 47 MB patch on Shadowrun, do I need it? As I'm installing both.

Definitely going to go in on the hardest difficulty and get myself killed right off the bat learning the new mechanics :D

You probably don't need to but you might as well at 47 mb.   I may start a Dragonfall game in the near future.  :)

Ah, pulled down curtains, put the air cond on, munchies and gaming headset on full volume. Turn off phone. Ready to dive into my little world, loaded the game...

Nice! I'm getting excited! Overwhelmed with the options and a glance at the skills (Love being new to this!), Characters 3D modelled and not 2D sprites either which is nice - I didn't notice it from the screenshots.

Man, makes me remember what it was like to just install a game and play, last game I did that with... "Error: Drivers not supported", so ok, update... "CTD", try again, make character, "CTD", no save :( ... try again, finally in the game... where the fk is my walk button, this an ARPG no? WTF?! ... "CTD" Try again, made a habit of saving frequently due to instability... "CTD"... Save corrupted, 2 saves only, one all the way back in the beginning. If it wasn't for figuring out windowed fullscreen mode + AMD I would have been screwed (looks like many are still at THAT point of the experience too - namely high end users/Nvidia). Then running around like a goof unable to switch off from real life until a month later when a MOD for WALKING released - WTF?! By the maker... $90 + time off my paid leave dedicated to that game too with all the fanboyism and expectations from marketing.

But anyway folks, from looks of things - already from the options in the skill tree I'm going to be in deep in Shadowrun for some time. Thanks for the recommendation!

I just had to Alt-Tab to post this, because this is just getting ridicolous in the AAA industry.

There is... WALKING... in this game. (Shadowrun)

I got Shadowrun Returns on my tablet, Dragonfall on my wishlist. On PC I usually like to play, well..."flashier" games. But on tablet this is a fun game to play.

BTW: Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic recently got released for Android tablets! :o

Missed on a 85% shot, as they say - XCOM BABY! Loving Shadowrun already, loving the mechanics, music, sound, writing and humor is great too. This game has made a strong first impression and it's ongoing. Good call for recommending the hardest difficulty as well.

Can see why you folks recommended the game so strongly.

Haha yeah it's very refreshing jumping into a PC game after DAI.

Me too, however I guess I'm just used to indies since M&B. Graphics ain't everything, gameplay is. If Shadowrun continues to impress I'll have to start throwing money at them on kickstarter with their next project.

Sigh.

It appears that Bioware is really dead. Instead we have EA/Bioware, the console gamer. Some statistics came out and it appears Inquisition sold roughly seven console copies for every PC copy. Our market share is just as big as older consoles. So, how does that make Bioware dead? Well... they're now more focused on the biggest market, the console users, which predominately likes the type of games I really don't care for (Battlefield, Titanfall, etc.) It was stated before Inquisition came out, it was envisioned as a multiplayer-only game. There is another thread that talks about playing Dragon Age as a lone wolf agent (sort of like Thief).

No more preorders. I'll wait for the game to hit the bargain bin and that's if it's patched. I'm not a Witcher fan, but I do like Fallout (which was made by Bioware under Interplay) and hope that Fallout 4 works out.

I am waving the white flag. I'll finish the story about Anders sometime this week.

EA is cunning. EA knew that nothing Bioware would say would make us PC gamers happy. So we have the developers falling in line with what EA is directing: a full on MMORPG  for consoles and using the franchise name to sell directly to the action market.

EA wins GOTY. PC users get the cold shoulder.

Damn it.

Personally, I don't put much trust in sales numbers that could be found in Internet unless it's official report made by developer/publisher.
But even if it's really reflect current statistics and console market much more profitable, when next logical question "Why big studios bother to develop/port games for PC?".
Out of charity?
While DAI was still developing BW specifically addressed PC market.
Even it was rushed/poorly ported, but they still released it for PC.
I can only understand that as proof that EA/BW consider "small" PC market worth the hassle.
Not to mention other big console-exclusive games releasing on PC.
I know, I'm hopeless optimist, but I'll always believe in PC gaming. :wizard:

..and this year looks promising to me

edit: spelling)

Meh, future for PC lies in the PC indies. It's growing, slowly but surely. Still remember when indies was a new thing, Mount and Blade. Before kickstarter even kicked off. Those were days when I was in the Chivalry Total War team modding RTW, before M2TW was even announced. When I heard of it, Taleworlds was TWO people, a husband and wife, out of nowhere blew alot of people's brains out by giving us something we have never seen before; mounted combat. They went through publishers, no one would green light their game, so they had an idea, sold their unfinished game as "shareware" - thats what it was called back in the day. And they said - "here is what we have, if you think we have potential, buy the game at a cheap price, and you'll be supporting the development". Now look at their success and what has spawned in its wake.

Back in the day it was a phenomenom. A developer could make their dream game without having to get a green light from publishers. Now it's a growing business model.

M&B2 now has noticably a larger budget, much larger team, SC aims to be the first indie with AAA production values, new developers rising, early access titles popping up on Steam. Even old devs like Obsidian are going indie. Hell even former employees of AAA devs. They sell an idea straight to the market - here's our idea, here's the game we want to make - do you want it? You can support the production. As such, people started bypassing the clueless publishers who don't give a sh-t about innovation only the bottom line.

Now indies have now become... a "normal" thing. I've seen it grow, not all indies are successful, but many are, and they are growing. It's already positioned to take over the PC market in the future unless publisher-based AAA companies start paying attention, which so far consists mostly of MS and Sony throwing money at successful developers to make the game on their platform. Crowdfunded games seem to be rather immune to these bribes to switch platform focus - obvious reasons.

So hey, who cares I say - let the console players and devs do their thing, personally I just don't like being decieved with all this "by PC gamers, for PC gamers BS". Would be a fool to pre-order from any publisher-based AAA company, "Bioware" was the last and the only reason is due to 16 years of fanboyism. Should have saw through the bullsh-t sooner but I trusted the brand. Not to mention indies have a SERIOUS advantage when it comes to polish on release over AAA titles when they offer betas/alphas either closed or open.

Anyway guys, if you like tactical turn based combat, especially Xcom, I have to recommend Shadowrun, game has already kept me up all night. Not so much flash but I'm getting my strategy/RPG/story fix all at once. Have to work in a few hours lol

thanx... as fun as that might have been, sadly not. I just didn't know today's date, nor yesterdays, etc. so it's just like a surprise party, kind of, I guess.

@invisibleMan
Happy birthday:-)
To the people who joined this weekend hello and welcome :-)

@GODzilla hello little buddy :-)

To the rest of you we will make a AAA game in due time, we will need to put in long hours and lots of hard work :-)

And we do it for PC gamers only :-)

I had a nice weekend and relaxed.

Not sure if I want to continue with DAI ,I am finding it slightly childish and boring.

I know you guys say it gets better in the sory, but right now I can only dream of a non existent patch.

Some say I may be out by end February, I guess we shall see :-)

Wow, there is really an update out. So...shall I install or wait until people report what it breaks this time? :D

@Matrix Girl

A pity you don't like the game. I kinda enjoy it, but it's good it was released before The Witcher 3, because...look at that:

It will wipe the floor with DAI. :D

I am sure you are:-)
The passage of time makes us wiser :-)
Except for companies like Bioware it made them more stupid.
The only thing I will say is if big software companies want to make their games for consoles, the only thing that will happen is that they will loose 35% of their sales and that is not good :-)
What Bioware did with this game is called spaghetti programming
You pull one string and it break 20 more.
So the chance for that game to be fixed is nearly impossible and they seem more interested in the MP side of thing.
This where the money is :-)

None of those PC sales figures count the ones from origin. They're store-only, so the numbers are misleading.

If they'd been bright enough, allowing modding would have increased their long-term viability for this game. they didn't, so... well.

Meanwhile, Greg Ellis is making Cullen ringtone soundbites and making them available for free via his FB/whosay page. It's a pity Bioware aren't as committed to their fans as he is.

And happy birthday Invisman. January babies rock. :D

Oh no I will finish it, but I will not do a second play through:-)
But let's say that I will try to play a different game :-)
I too want a game that I can sit down and enjoy, and not have to worry and know that it will sweep me in the story and make me feel welcome :-)

Looks like a great game :-)
But it is a console game
You can see the radial wheel and the consoles A button.
Is this going to come out on PC?
And hope it will not be a silly port :-)
