I've been on and off the forums depending on where I was at the outdoor outlet mall today. I was among a multitude of men in a zombie state carrying their wife's purse or guarding them on a bench. The experience was harrowing. So many bored men wishing they were somewhere else. I'm telling you, those places are like a black hole around the terminus edge. Time moves slower than reality and you can't escape it.

Just gave the Shadowrun Unlimited mod a whirl, not so sure I like the direction of the mod, though I like it's vision. Too many loading screens and re-used environments. I think it's better if they make one big hub (like the town in Dragonfall), and then focus on the mission variety themselves. But that's my opinion, still pretty impressive. Might try out the module editor actually, if I am to mod this game might need writers and looks like plenty here!

I did that with my fiancée yesterday Cyan... these effing places are the same the word around, with the same depressed people all other the place.
With the economic crisis (Marseille is a strange place for that, either very poor or somewhat rich people around, close to non-existent middle-class; maybe a little like L.A.?), it's even worse. I feel bad being able to buy stuff.
I also read your earlier post. I agree wholeheartedly. Will reply more by email or PM.
Got to catch a train in one hour for a business trip. working for the dream.
Hugs and kisses to all of you.

Btw folks, for those who have SRR but not Dragonfall...
Dragonfall expansion just blows the original campaign out of the water ![]()
DMS is like a "demo" linear campaign really, great story, but Dragonfall is the potential realised, with fully fleshed out companions and much less linear questline, mechanics are refined as well. Expect around 100+ hours of gameplay with all the mods available too.
I also have to recommend the Antumbra Saga, really high quality module up to the standard of the original devs. However, the devs have Andrew McIntosh (the insanely genius writer behind the two official campaigns), so it's hard to match his quality lol.

Thanks Jackal. It looks like there is going to be gap between contracts. I won't be working again until mid-March so I'll have plenty of time to check it out. I'm still slogging through Wasteland 2. It's a nice attempt to bring us the feeling of Fallout 1 and 2, but I'm not really digging it. I have Shadowrun Returns and will get to it probably in a week. In the meantime...

According to Google.
I wonder what Cyan picked up from there.
I'm guessing e-cig.
A dual purpose mana potion. It's blue and beautiful.

I'm surprised you are not enjoying Wasteland 2. It could definitely be better optimized. It's actually striving to be the true sequel to the 1st Wasteland. I know that a lot of people refer to it as Fallout 2.5 but it's not a good way to compare it. What don't you like about it? I also have some time on my hands too, as I'm in between jobs myself so I've been keeping myself occupied with sculpey, spending time here, and doing some research. I think I'm building a test desktop soon too..

It's the pacing of the voice and text. Some parts are fully voiced and really the only part listen to, the rest are small walls of text. It's like Fallout 2.75 (I loved Fallout Tactics), but the storyline takes a while to get going or for me to care. I like the whole idea of tying into Fallout (Desert Rangers of Arizona eventually become the NCR Rangers of the Mojave), but I'm struggling to enjoy the story. I know that I approached this game wrong thinking it was Fallout 2.5 and I'm having to restart the experience with a clean slate. I'm saving AgCenter instead of High Pool first this time around...

Nice rig, you should get good performance from that machine :-)
I myself would go for an SSD drive, but it would cost a bit more :-)
But you will get a couple years out of tha t rig :-)
And I would look into a bigger PSU at least 750W :-)
I am sure some people will agree with me 450W is a bit on the low side :-)

Morning, MatrixGirl! Yeah, it's truly a frankenstein build. I'm just seeing if I can build with minimal funds and see what it can do. It will be overclocked.. As for power, 430W is plenty for this build. At load, this thing will use about 150W total.
I'll probably end up adding a bigger PSU, more memory, and very likely a video card later.
P.S I haven't had a desktop in probably two years so it'll be a change. I generally try to stay portable as possible. Laptop gaming has been decent but it's just not the same as a desktop.

OK I started a new game. I have not played since before patch 2. The game stutters, freezes and is unplayable now completely. Not sure what was in the patches that could change it. Anyone have any suggestions?

Did you switch to a new driver lately? What is your graphic card? I have found - through google research, reading many different forums and my own experience - that an older driver is sometimes better than a new one. It seems that at some point the development is optimized towards never models because there is the profit.
TL;DR: I still use the 344.75 Geforce driver for my GTX 760. It worked with v1.0.0.0 of the game and it still works with v1.0.0.5 of the game (yes that is the current version, three patches and two hotfixes fox patching the patches lol
).
No changes over the various patches, safe for the bugs they specifically introduced.

Actually I disagree. *duck & cover* ![]()
It's not just about the wattage, it's about the power and combined power of the 12V lines and it's about the effectiveness. Every modern 450 to 550W psu from a good company like bequiet! will be more than enough for a modern medium- to high-end system. Extra consideration is only necessary when doing something like SLI or even triple-SLI, especially when looking at the more power-hungry highest-end AMD cpus and gpus.
If in doubt, one should use this and set up their system as detailed as possible: http://www.extreme.o...culatorlite.jsp
Read the instructions carefully. It is easy to mix up several physical cpus (as in: more than one actual cpu) with just multiple physical or virtual cpu cores. ![]()

I don't think MatrixGirl is very familiar with APUs and AMD. She seems to be an Intel girl throughout. ![]()
p.s. I found my Razer Diamondback mouse which is over 10 years old. It has some electrical tape holding it together but it beats the snot out of my logitech wireless Marathon mouse with the dying mouse wheel.

mine's a 750w, I guess a tad overkill...

It's never overkill.
A great power supply will last you through many builds. If you ever decide to go SLI/Crossfire, it's a good idea to have some extra wattage available. I personally won't do that on this build but I might possibly do some hybrid crossfire but it'll be very light on power usage.

My PSU is 1.2KW
It has 8 12 volts DC rail, with a big PSU, you are sure you are not going out of juice :-)
If you are building a gaming rig, the formula is how many 12 volts rails you got :-)
450 Watts is for a small rig, and to be safe 750 Watts is a safer bet :-)
Stop thinking of power bill :-)
Better be safe than sorry :-)
You could get a nice 750 PSU for around 125 dollars.
PSU is not something to not splurge on :-)
Yes you better dock :-)
So Nvidia has found a way to fic the GTX 970, they will do it via driver.
So a patch for a broken product :-)
