Did you guys know that the GTX980 is faster than The Titan Black :-)

Does anyone know what software or suite of programs is Bioware using for their promotional videos? The cinematics are really beautiful. 

 

It's probably assets they were going to use before they moved it to Frostbite 3 engine. Those promotional videos actually look like they were built using the modified unreal engine tools. It looks very similar to the ME3 promotional videos which were also impressive.

They are not going to fix the GTX970 it is impossible to fix with a driver or a firmware upgrade :-)
But wait a few weeks and the card will either be discontinued, or the 980 will drop in price drastically:-)

That is what me hardware dealer says since he will not sell the 970 anymore:-)

Look at the 780TI even that card is faster than The Titan Black :-)

Of course the Quadro does not count because that is a specialty card, not really made for gaming :-)

WOW, Nvidia drops the ball.. not very surprising though. I watched a video on them explaining what the 970 was actually doing. It's really strange that the 780TI would be faster but it's hard to tell with synthetic benchmarks.

They did but I guess they used Frostbite 3 since they own it and don't have to pay a fee.

I wholeheartedly agree with you there. I think the game would have looked just fine and Bioware could have focused on the story instead of struggling with the tech. I did get through my first playthrough yesterday.

Nvidia has this thing about renaming old cards with new numbers, by tweaking them just a bit :-)

Look at my card on that list the Asus GTX570 it is mid-range but it is still in the 600 dollars range :-)

True but they did well going with the Maxwell series of chips versus their old chip Kepler.  It was the power consumption they have been reducing. The performance is a nice side effect since they can clock the chips higher as it has less heat.

@Cyan  Yeah, you catch something new every time you rewatch it. It has a lot of depth to it that you don't get the first time.

No need to worry about heat if you buy a card like mine who has heap pipe cooling :-)
Hence why I love Asus
That new series of chip might run cooler, but still cannot touch the 780TI
Because they are dual GPU's :-)

oh, I almost forgot about Reservoir Dogs..  Tarantino's best film imo.  I can agree with you on 2001, Star Wars 4,5,6, Dune and the 300.  I don't think I can count Sucker Punch, 2nd 300 and Matrix as the best of all time though.  :>  

I try to forget about 1,2,3 of Star Wars because they were horrible. The guy who plays Obiwan was awesome though.

Yeah, it's all about running cooler, the new display ports, and energy consumption now.. Not raw power.
