The MP is trash anyway, Penguin is a cool guy (idk if you seen his video on MP) but saying the MP is amazing... dude it's terrible, it's like it was made in the 90s. Just bad, dunno how people can have fun with it but oh well.

@Peregrinus
Well every little bit count when it comes to gaming :-)
But when it comes to DAI, lots of people who are using SLI or Xfire are having a real hard time getting this made for console game working well :-)
Weird Battle Field 4 is made with the same engine as DAI and they have it working well :-)
I guess the 2 dev left working on the PC side of DAI are probably too tired to fix that game :-)
They must go home at night and see codes in their nightmares :-)
Actually I wasn't interested in running DAI in crossfire but I will give it a shot whenever I get the card. I was more interested in running Stalker Call of Pripyat and a few other first person shooters using it to see the difference.
Goodnight!

I didn't realize that the 970 was so power hungry. I looked it up and it says 270W on load, 145 at idle so owww.

It is exactly. Seasonic 620W bronze. That's a nice balanced build. Is the 620W bronze 80+ at least?
Well when I bought my 970 the first thing that happened was my PC pretty much blew up... I didn't have MG so I had to carry my PC to the tech guys to get me a new case and power supply... wasn't fun.
After speaking to some guys who know psu tech they recommended I get a new psu for the GTX 970 / 980 generation. Aparently the voltage fluctuations of these cards can overwhelm older psus. If not right away than at least over time and nobody can say how long this is.
Mine is from 2012 (2011 really) and already at risk of this happening, according to these people. That's why I get a new one before attempting to get a new card. ![]()
There is a difference though between "big" and "enormously gigantic and of almost unbelievable size OMFG"!
No offense of course, just kidding. ^^
I build this system back in 2012 and back then this was a state-of-the-art power supply unit. Also it's not about the power, it's about changes in the internal technology of that new psu that makes it suitable for the latest graphic cards. It's about voltage regulation and filters that "smooth" the voltage output and make it stable be it under stress or not. This wasn't so important for a psu back in 2012 but it is now. And no one could really foretell it either.
There is even a widely appreciated alternative to the bequiet! E10 psu. This one: http://geizhals.at/a...9-a1035122.html You'll notice it has "only" 450 watts of contious power but what's important is that it can almost deliver the full amount of this power via it's 12V lines. It is very effective and more than sufficent for current and next gen systems of normal proportions (meaning no SLI and stuff). But it isn't modular and that's what I prefer.
Anway, the same could happen had I bought a 1200w psu two years ago. Tech changes and suddenly it becomes outdated old stuff that needs to be replaced, no matter the power.
So...Matrix Girl. I hope you don't mind a bit of joke-sparring here: Next time a guy tells you that size doesn't always matter, but that quality can be found in more than just big numbers, you better believe him. ![]()

Good supply. You made a solid choice. I've used dozens of those in gaming builds for clients.
I'm reinstalling Baldur's Gate 2 Shadows of Amn with Throne of Bhaal expansion. I found my disks. Some great mods for this too.

GODzilla
And BTW all good PSU are modular :-)
Just to keep you informed :-)
I have to disagree with you there. For the most part, they are better simply because it is much easier to manage the cabling which also assists with cooling, but non modular supplies work just as well long as you know how to build a system.
GODzilla
That is why a got a 1.2KW PSU Gold
8 x 12 volts rails :-)
And with filtering galore and spike protection :-)
All of that hooked up to a UPS 2500, for perfectly clean power :-)
So it is an amazing PSU, and is not even sweating with my GTX980 :-)
So size and quality does matter:-)
That is why I bought smartly when it came to my gear :-)
And I am planning on going SLI and I will have no problem with the unit I have :-)
And the girl who told you size does not matter , well she lied to you :-)
Well all I'm saying is that one can always get bigger when he needs to, right?
Hey, you started this lol. ![]()

Agreed. There was also a time where the modular connections where poor quality and just a thing for marketing. This doesn't seem to be an issue anymore.
GODzilla
Next time a girl tells you that size and quality is important believe her :-)
In this case that would be me :-)
Guess you had to check with the boys :-)
No need for me to say it :-)
I told you so :-)
Hugs little GODzilla :-)
Now fetch yourself a big PSU in the silver quality and above platinum is even better :-)
Mine is 1.2KW Gold :-)
So do not tell me oh electric bill and all that stuff :-)
Want to play with big toys, you need good power :-)
Still my little friend :-)
BTW got my GTX 980 in my machine now and it kicks ass :-)
Shoo, MatrixGirl, would you stop teasing the boyzzz? We're trying to run a respectable establishment around here
And the girl who told you size does not matter , well she lied to you :-)
lol , you miss are something else.
I almost lost my keyboard to coffee again thanks to you.
GODzilla
Here is my PSU
http://www.coolermas...pro-gold-1200w/
Now that is a power supply :-)
Size matter , you have to pay 400 dollars for it , last year ,but you get that kind of quality:-)
5 years old and not sold anymore, but I guess there are enough alternatives out there if I ever needed such a beast. ^^
GODzilla
Got mine last year, and my dealer still sells them :-)
This PSU is the competition on Antec :-)
And are still very much in business :-)
True, but even with the new card (still not sure what to get, but still time until april) my system will barely reach 300w of power usage. So I rather save my money is all. ^^
Anybody here played Armello?
Its on early access right now and I am eyeballing it currently.
It looks good and breathes Narnia + Hearthstone...
If it's like Hearthstone, I probably won't like it. Card games just don't appeal to me much.
