True, but even with the new card (still not sure what to get, but still time until april) my system will barely reach 300w of power usage. So I rather save my money is all. ^^

This should last you quite a while.

If it's like Hearthstone, I probably won't like it. Card games just don't appeal to me much.

What about board games where you roll dice?

Company and PSU still quite in business
You can get one of those beast at Newegg.ca
Still one of the biggest player in North America :-)
Do not know where you got 5 years old :-)
5 year warranty:-)
Here is the link :-)

2010 was the release date of the psu. It doesn't mean they don't sell new ones anymore. Just not were I live. I looked for shops in Germany and Austria, but just out of curiousity really as I really don't need a psu that powerful. :)

Looks solid, but it is also not sold here. I usually use a search engine called www.geizhals.at/de

Not a single shop turns up. But I guess the bequiet! E10 500W is still a good choice, only a bit more pricier. ^^

Just released my swordplay skills in Warband have waned, got killed by an AI bot of all things.

"Bots are brave dude" - a random player told me in MP years ago - which is true, they don't have human hesitation despite their predictability. Still, my parrying skills are so off.

Man can't wait till M&B2...

It's not that I dislike card and board games  but I just don't like them in computer format.

@GODzilla   I keep forgetting we are from all over.  :)    I found a good one for ya.

I'm looking forward to this game, which I also backed:

Not so keen on playing the alpha, probably not even the beta since I don'tr want to "ruin" the finished game. But it looks reall cool. Kinda like M&B, but with a stronger focus on singleplayer and a story.

Thanks. It's not modular but that isn't mandatory I guess. Would be a nice bonus. I'll add it to the list. Will ask around the hardware people on my german forum before I make a decision anyway. :)

I built this for my gf a few years back. The thing still plays Skyrim at high settings 1080p.   Yes, it's pink and size of two toasters but it kicks ass!  :)

so while optimistically waiting for DAI to become playable on a PC, I have decided to go back and play Neverwinter Nights. The problem seems to be though that my DAI-optimized machine can't handle NVN. The game crashes/freezes quite a bit. I've done as much research elsewhere as I can to try to solve/minimize the problems but was wondering if anyone here had any experience with this and could make some suggestions

Something I experience two days ago: So I was playing DAI, being in the Emerald Graves. The fps were stable in that area before but this time the game was hitching and stuttering all over the place.

Then I realized I had Steam still running in the background. Not as overlay, just silently running, connected to my friends list and nothing else. I closed it and the game was running smoothly again.

DAI is oversensitive to any kind of background program it seems. I think I noticed some issues already when Firefox was running. I usually made sure that really nothing was interfering with the game, not even the Origin overlay and most of the time, I'd say 99% of the time where I make sure of this, the game runs stable with good performance.

Just wanted to mention this in case someone wants to give it a try. ^^ Will post this in the PC fixes thread as well.

Hmmm, the sandbox world is what made M&B great in my opinion. Like, I didn't really like With Fire N Sword's story based campaign.

Have you tried the alpha though? I'm curious of the swordplay. I still remember the sweat from dueling back in my Warband prime. I had a fan on during the winter - that's how intense the combat was for me lol - love it.

That looks great!   :)

Yeah, M&B2 is going to be another 1000+ hours of my life gone lol

Besides, Armagod's got this one by the horns (Armagan - us old fans used to call him Armagod - as in IM A GOD) lol

Have you tried running it on compatibility mode? I would recommend running it on Windows XP service pack 2 mode. That is what I'm running Baldur's Gate 2 on and it runs well. I ran NWN using said mode a few months back and it seemed to be okay.  I'm also assuming that you are running it on Windows 8.1 ?  Windows 8 seems to struggle with certain games that are older. A good example of this is Sacred 2 which runs very poorly on Windows 8.1 but ran perfectly fine on Windows 7.  Let us know what kind of hardware you have. I might be able to give you a few more tips.

I noticed the same thing with Steam. Never have it running it alongside Origin.

You remember I told you I was having problems with DA2 not working on DX11, but was having no problem with other DX11 games :-)

After installing the GTX980 yesterday I downloaded the Hi Res texture pack :-)
Cranked up everything on DX11 all options at maximum x16 and to my surprise with Vsync on solid 60FPS, without Vsynch 145 to 190FPS, but a bit of tearing in some places, since this game always had some sort of issues :-)
But the games runs perfectly:-)

Whenever I decide to re install DAI I should be able to run that game everything on ultra and bang myself 70 plus FPS :-)

And I am now running the latest Nvidia driver and my mouse going to the second screen in game is now gone :-)

Must have been a problem with 344.75 :-)
Now running 347.25 :-)

Yes, I heard. I was reading your first post about the success with the 980. Glad it worked out so good. :)

The sad part is that she generally uses the laptop I bought her to play games on. LOL  I got her that Razer Black Widow Ultimate keyboard and it just sits there collecting dust.

You might be right on that. :)  Origin uses an obscene amount of memory when it's actually running. I actually saw it using around 200 mb of memory just idling vs steam that uses around 50 mb.

I'm actually very curious on what your fps will be on DA2 with two 980's running it.  :)

That is the way I was running it also with Origin all options disabled :-)
DAI is so badly coded that it cannot handle an overlay :-)

Not even Fraps, but I was using the built in FPS counter in DAI :-)

Plus after 7 hours I got bored and uninstalled it :-)

Will reinstall when you guys say it is fixed and patched, but the odds of that happening are in the far future :-)

Very far in the future at this point. Their focus is on multiplayer and they will fix that before they decide to do anything with single player. I didn't really run into a lot of bugs but there are quests that are broken, the cutscenes still run poorly and let's not even mention the horrendous keyboard/mouse controls.  Having said that though, my first playthrough was fairly painless. One directx crash, 6 CTD's with no error messages but that's about it.  The recommendation I would make when you try it again is that you stick with the main quests and character quests only whenever possible. The fetch/collection quests do absolutely nothing.  Just get enough power to move onto the main story/character story and you'll find yourself enjoying it much more.
